Abstract

The newly compounds containing a seven-member ring oxazepane and five-member ring tetrazole derivatives were prepared starting schiff bases. Synthesized by percyclic reactions of imine group with phthalic anhydride resulted the formation of 1,3-oxazepane-4,7dione derivatives (S1, O). The new tetrazole derivatives were obtained from treatment of each prepared schiff bases S and S1 with sodium azide to give derivatives (S2, T). Finally derivatives have been characterized by melting points, FT.IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. Keywords: Phathalic anhydride, Sodium azide, Tetrazole, Oxazepane-4,7dione.

Abstract

Metastatic breast cancer (MBC) to the cervicothoracic area of the spine is very rare cases. In this case report, we describe a case for this rare lesion. Case: a thirty-nine-year-old female with a history of weakness of the legs and pain in the upper back spine came to the hospital with history of breast biopsy with result of adenocarcinoma and positive long tract signs. On whole-spine MRI, it is shown the bone metastatic process on C5-7, T3, T5-7, T9-10 with bony destructions and extradural mass around T5-7 and T9-10. Two stages of surgery were planned for this patient. The first operation was addressed to cervical metastatic process through the posterior approach, in the form of a cervical fusion with laminectomy biopsy. The second step was via posterior approach for thoracic decompression and fusion. Since the Karnovsky score was 60 and single step surgery was chosen, led to cervicothoracic decompression fusion at single stage using augmented exoskeleton cement technique. During follow-up, the patient was neurologically improved on the both legs function significantly, though gait was still tolerable and recovery program was still ongoing in outpatient department. MBC treatment for long spine involved lesions can also be handled via a single posterior approach with good results especially for case with cervicothoracic metastatic process. Keywords: Metastatic breast cancer, Posterior approach, Cervicothoracic fusion, Exoskeleton.

Abstract

This study was conducted to indicate Isotopic Stable Radioactive element (ISRe) of the Iraqi marshes by using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to implement the comparing these elements with World Health Organization elements (WHO), and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), this study achieved in several phases: Work included access to geographical data in six main stations of the Missan governorate (Al- Auda Marsh, Al- Battat Marsh ) during October 2016 period and selection of environmental factors Water and Soil . Results of water in all stations under study showed low concentrations of ISRe Pb212, Pb214,Pb138  and the remaining elements varied and mostly similar limited factors with natural boundaries of water bodies, A little increase come from of some pollutants that are discharged from the water drainage or waste populated .The soil samples showed ISRe, Pb214, Pb212, Pb138 , this may be due to the disintegration of the former previous radioactive element in the same region after wars or explosions , the remaining elements were found in variable concentrations . This database considered as a very important for environmental risks and health in aquatic environmental of marsh which can be updated through a unified future other periodic data. It is one of the method efforts of research for the Iraqi marshes because it represents the concept of ecological zones are covering relatively large areas in southern Iraq, which have a distinctive character of the natural geography of different types so there is a relationship between organisms and their environment an important in an aquatic ecosystem of the food chain. Keywords: Iraqi marsh, Pollution, Bioindicator, Isotopic Stable Radioactive.

Abstract

Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) is a flowering plant in the mallow family. Okra is important for its edible green and dry seed pods. The plant is cultivated in tropical, subtropical and warm temperate regions around the world. The geographical source of okra now is very available in Iraq. The rabbit rapidly develops severe hypercholesterolemia and decrease in levels of ascorbic acid and increase in ratio of bad cholesterol to good cholesterol in response to dietary manipulation. The results of this study showed that, there was a significant decrease in serum total cholesterol  and lipoprotein ratio for groups of rabbits that administrated with dry okra aqueous extract with its seeds (0.5g/kg) (DOE+ cholesterol oil-fed) as compared to control group( not administrated) at the end of six week of experiment (398±4.0) vs. (175± 5) (P < 0.05). On the other hand, a significant difference in the level of serum total cholesterol (P<0.05) starts in control group treated with cholesterol-oil fed at the end of six week of experiment as compared to cholesterol+ DOE group  (398±4) vs. (543±4). The aqueous extract of dry okra may be enhancing the conversion of cholesterol to bile acids in the liver by activation of an enzyme α-hydroxylase. DOE may be having inhibition action on HMG-COA synthase that responsible on endogenous synthesis of cholesterol in liver. Keywords: Dry okra extract, Induce cholesterol. Abstract

Objective: Grafting is a possible chemical free solution that shows several changes in plants, with the aid of vigorous rootstock. Methods: The influence of grafting on the yield and fruit quality of tomato cultivars grown under greenhouse condition was conducted during two successive seasons of 2016 and 2017. The metabolic composition of fruits of tomato Solanum lycopersicum L. Nefret hybrid (T1) grafted onto four rootstocks were identified by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The levels of aspartate and alanine aminotransferases and alkaline phosphatase were analyzed for the determination of liver functions. The levels of oxidative stress markers; malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and glutathione (GSH) were determined in the rat's liver tissue. Kidney function parameters of serum urea and creatinine levels were also measured. Histologic examinations of the liver and kidney tissues were also performed. Results: The effects of grafting on the vegetative growth, yield, and fruit quality characteristics, i.e., fruit weight, length, diameter, total soluble solids content and titratable acidity of T1, grafted onto four rootstocks have showed great variability.  The vegetative growth, i.e., plant height of T2, was increased when S. lycopersicum L. var. VFN (T2) was used as a rootstock.  T2 has showed no adverse effects in all biochemical parameters under investigation compared by the other treatments. Aldehydes, ketones, esters, fatty acids, terpenoids, carotenoids, phenolics and alkaloids were the main identified components and the major compound was β-ionone (13.37%) in T2. Conclusion: The nutritional content of T2 and that it has showed no alteration in oxidative stress markers, liver and kidney function tests and their histopathological patters support its safety. While, un-grafting or grafting onto Solanum melongena L. cv. Balady (T3) may be a tool to improve the crop quality. Background and purpose: Nurses are ones of service organizations’ forces who are in direct contact with clients. So, they must have special mastery in their work. Therefore, nurses’ career path and process of their succession is very important. This research aimed to study the relationship between career path management and succession of nurses. Study method: The present research was descriptive-correlation. The present research’s statistical population included 280 nurses working in Iranshahr hospitals selected by census method as statistical sample and the questionnaires including succession Rothwell (2006) and career path management Delong (1982) were distributed among them. Formal validity was used to determine questionnaires validity and Cronbach’s alpha was used to determine reliability which was 0.84 for succession questionnaire and it was 0.85 for career path. Data was analyzed by Pearson correlation inferential test and simple regression in SPSS21software.  Findings: The variables of career path management and succession were in a good position. At 99% significant level, correlation coefficient of career path management and succession and its dimensions including succession planning assessment, filing the educational vacancy, personal performance assessment, current work requirements and making a commitment to systematic succession planning) were 0.65, 0.784, 0.72, 0.682, 0.570, 0.178, -0.352 and -0.203, respectively. According to regression results, 42.3 percent of succession changes can be explained based on career path management. Conclusions: Career path management appropriately explains succession system. A more worthy succession system will be established through career path management. So, we will enjoy the existence of qualified nurses in positions by a special consideration to career path management. Keywords: Nurse, Succession, Career path management.
