Abstract

Hemorrhoids are the most common proctological diseases affecting an average of 12 people out of 100. Hemorrhoid affects more than 10 % of the adult population of the planet, and the proportion of the total number of proctological diseases is 40 %. Hemorrhoid is the most common reason to see a proctologist. Therefore, the problem of choosing the tactics of treatment of this category of patients remains relevant. If constipation is called “intellectual disease”, then hemorrhoid is called “royal disease”. Men and women suffer from this disease equally. In women, exacerbation of hemorrhoid often occurs during pregnancy, usually in the last trimester. Sooner or later, enlargement of the hemorrhoid appears in most people. The objective of this work is the development of extemporaneous ointment for the treatment of proctologic diseases. To achieve this goal the following tasks were solved: the literature on the current state of such diseases as hemorrhoids has been analyzed and summarized; the range of medicines used to treat hemorrhoids has been analyzed. As a result the composition of the combined ointment for the treatment of hemorrhoid has been substantiated and its technology has been developed, the stability and microbiological purity of the created extemporaneous combined ointment has been studied.

Abstract

The current study was carried out at the Radwaniyah station / Ministry of Agriculture, which included analysis of data of local awassi sheep, Assaf and crossing Assaf (local Awassi ×Assaf). Records included weights at birth and weaning and in ages of 6, 9 and 12 months for the three genetic groups above. We aimed to study the effect of the genetic group on the lamb’s weights at different ages and the effects of the hybrid vigor resulting from the crossing of local awassi sheep with Assaf sheep to the traits of the weights in ages from birth to one year old. The results showed that the genetic group had a significant effect (p˂0.01) in all the studied traits while the effect of hybrid vigor was not significant for all studied traits, but it was similar to some previous studies, with 10.36, 12.20, 5.80, 6.49 and 4.92 % for weights at birth, weaning, 6 months, 9 month and 12 month respectively.

Abstract

Background: Arterial stiffness has been considered as a modest method in detecting the arterial burden that can trigger left ventricular hypertrophy in the heart. Increased left ventricle hypertrophy in hypertension patients is a predictor which has impact in the increase of morbidity and mortality. Objectives: We aimed to investigate the association between brachial ankle pulse wave velocity (BaPWV) and left ventricle mass index (LVMI) in patients with hypertension. Material and Methods: This study was conducted by collecting secondary data of 40 hypertension patients aged >40 years old, suffered from hypertension >1 year and have encountered brachial ankle pulse wave velocity test and echocardiography test. Results: There was a significant positive correlation between brachial ankle pulse wave velocity and left ventricle mass index in hypertension patients with r = 0.493 dan p = 0.001. Also, there was a significant correlation between BaPWV and Relative Wall Thickness with r = 0.404 and p = 0.01. There was a significant difference of LVMI value in males and females with the result of (117.78+22.70 and 100.15+16.82, p = 0.008). In contrast, there was no significant difference in BaPWV value in males and females (1865.63+322.29 and 1811.08+350.28). It was also obtained a significant correlation between age factor and systolic blood pressure with LVMI and BaPWV (r = 0.493, p = 0.001). Conclusions: There was significant positive correlation between BaPWV and LVMI in hypertension patients. The arterial stiffness was an indicator of increased left ventricle mass index in hypertension patients. Keywords: Brachial ankle pulse wave velocity, Left ventricle mass index, Hypertension, Heart.

Abstract

Colorectal cancer is one of the most frequent malignant diseases in the developed countries. It was reported that total antioxidant status is being play a very important roles in development of carcinogenesis. The aim of  this study to assess of some risk factors such as age, gender, obesity, and smoking status on total antioxidant status in patients with sporadic colorectal cancer in Iraq. This investigate was completed by using colorimetric method to measure of total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) and assess the risk factors depending on the levels of T-AOC. All patients included in the present study were getting adjuvant chemotherapy regimen  and subdivided into two groups according to Duke´s classification of malignant into early stages A+B and advance stages C+D, cancer site (colon or  rectum), and according to the number of dose of chemotherapy regimen (half dose or total dose). The present study showed negatively correlation (r = -0.567) (p<0.05) between T-AOC and ages of patients with sporadic CRC (p< 0.001). The levels of T-AOC decreased in both ever and never smoking compared to control group (p< 0.05). The results showed highly significant difference (p< 0.001) of T-AOC levels between A+B and C+D groups depending on age. The levels of T-AOC was decreased markedly in patients with ages less than 50 years compared to ages more or equal 50 years in both combination stages A+B and C+D (the higher difference was observed in same age and different state). In conclusion the risk factors that studied in this work may be have the main role to decrease levels of T-AOC and in result will increase the probability of injury with colon and rectal cancer in Iraqi population. Keywords: Total antioxidant capacity, Smoking status, Sporadic Colorectal cancer, Adjuvant chemotherapy, Obesity status

Abstract

According to modern concepts, the marginal permeability of restorations, the presence or absence of micro leaks, are the main factors determining the service life of the restoration. The restoration of teeth is subjected to several different types of stress - one of which is temperature fluctuations in the oral cavity. It is known that when eating food, brushing teeth, etc. the temperature in the oral cavity changes and affects the physical and mechanical properties of the hard tissues of the teeth, as well as of the restorative material, and in some cases leads to deformation of the zone of connection of the restorative material with the tooth surface up to its destruction. The thermal cycling procedure makes it possible to simulate the influence of this factor on the conditions of functioning of the reducing material; this is achieved by exposing the sample to a limited number of thermal cycles, which means of an artificial "aging" of the sample in laboratory conditions.
