Abstract

This study discusses the application of criminal law to the negligence of motor vehicle drivers resulting in death, based on the provisions of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transportation (LLAJ Law), specifically Article 310 paragraph (4). This study focuses on a case study at the Kotamobagu District Court by examining several decisions that show differences in judges' decisions regarding criminal acts that have similar elements of offenses. This study aims to examine the application of the theory of culpa and the theory of criminal responsibility in assessing negligence, as well as assessing the consistency of judges' legal considerations. The method used is normative juridical with a statutory approach and decision studies. This study also links the theory of culpa as the basis for error and the theory of criminal responsibility to assess the extent to which negligence can be subject to criminal sanctions. The results of the study show that despite the similarities in the forms of negligence, judges impose different sanctions based on considerations such as the level of error, the defendant's attitude, and the victim's contribution. This shows the importance of the presence of the principles of justice, legal certainty, and benefit in criminal decisions. This study recommends revising articles related to traffic crimes and strengthening jurisprudence so that the application of the law is more consistent and fair.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) cooperative learning model on students' learning outcomes in writing expository texts at SMP Negeri 2 Rumbia, Jeneponto Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design and a pretest-posttest control group design. The instruments used are written tests, both multiple choice and essay. The research sample was 42 students who were divided into an experimental class and a control class. The results showed that the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share model significantly improved student learning outcomes. The average score of students in the experimental class increased from 32.71 in the pretest to 63.19 in the posttest, with the results of the paired sample t-test showing a sig. 0.000 < 0.05. In addition, there was a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class based on the independent sample t-test (sig. 0.000 < 0.05). Thus, the Think-Pair-Share learning model proved more effective than conventional methods in improving students' expository writing skills at SMP Negeri 2 Rumbia, Jeneponto Regency.

Abstract

This study describes the skills of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 26 Makassar in writing descriptive texts based on the school environment using quantitative research. The research variable is a single variable, namely descriptive text writing skills. The research design used is a quantitative descriptive design, because the data and analysis are based on numbers. The population in this study was all seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 26 Makassar in the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 185 students, so the sample used was 26 students. The results of this study were measured using a student test instrument in writing descriptive texts based on the school environment, which were then analyzed using descriptive statistical methods and divided into three forms: frequency, average, and category. The results showed that the average student writing skill was 57.28. This score is still below the Minimum Competency (KKM) (70), so students' writing skills are categorized as insufficient.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of gamification as an innovative strategy to increase motivation to learn Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMP Negeri 15 Bengkulu City in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that PAI teachers successfully integrated gamification elements such as points, badges, leaderboards, and weekly challenges into their Lesson Plans (RPP). These elements were implemented through digital platforms such as Kahoot!, Quizizz, and ClassDojo, creating an interactive and collaborative learning environment. The implementation of gamification has been proven to increase students' intrinsic motivation through healthy competition, symbolic rewards, and a fun learning environment, while also being in line with the characteristics of the digital generation. However, obstacles remain, including limited infrastructure, unequal technological literacy, and inadequate assessment supervision. Therefore, support in the form of teacher training, provision of digital resources, and student mentoring is needed. These findings can serve as a reference for educators in designing more contextual and effective PAI learning in the digital era.

Abstract

Indonesia has great potential in the livestock sector that produces livestock waste. Utilization of this waste as a raw material for bio-briquettes can be an alternative sustainable energy solution. This study aims to examine the utilization of waste from cow dung and durian peel into bio-briquettes and analyze the resulting water content, ash content, and calorific value. This study was conducted in Ujung Lamuru Village, Lappariaja District, Bone Regency, in March-April 2025. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The results showed variations in water content, ash, and calorific value according to the composition of the material. The lowest water content was in P0 (12.2%), the highest water content was in P2 treatment (38.9%), the lowest ash content was in P0 (49.1%), the highest ash content was in P2 (70.2%), and the highest calorific value was in P3 (2116.75 cal/g), and the lowest calorific value was in P0 (1556.5). All parameters differed significantly between treatments, but did not meet SNI No. 1/6235/2000. The composition of the raw materials significantly influenced the quality of the bio-briquettes, including moisture content, ash content, and calorific value. The best treatment for moisture and ash content was P1 (90% cow dung charcoal and 5% tapioca flour), while the highest calorific value was obtained from P3 (60% cow dung charcoal, 35% durian peel charcoal, and 5% tapioca flour). The balance of raw material and adhesive proportions is a key factor in developing efficient and environmentally friendly bio-briquettes.

Abstract

This study aims to improve backhand serve technique skills through the implementation of peer assessment within a direct instruction model. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted over two cycles in class XI IPA MA An-Najah, Al-Halimy Sesela Islamic Boarding School, West Lombok Regency, involving 22 students. The instruments used included an observation sheet for lesson plan implementation and a peer assessment sheet. Data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively using percentage analysis. The results showed that lesson plan implementation increased from 95% (cycle I) to 100% (cycle II), and classical mastery of backhand serve skills increased from 55% to 95%. These findings indicate that integrating peer assessment within the direct instruction model is effective in improving students' backhand serve technique skills. This research contributes to collaborative and reflective physical education learning strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the transformation of Indonesian language learning through the implementation of the TEL (Technology Enhanced Learning) model in enhancing the enthusiasm and collaboration of eighth-grade students at MTs Humaira, Bengkulu City. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. Data were collected over eight meetings involving one Indonesian language teacher, 19 students, and the principal as an observer. The findings indicate that six out of seven TEL indicators have been consistently applied, such as student-centered teaching, the use of digital platforms, and a flexible curriculum. The integration of technologies like Google Classroom, WhatsApp, and YouTube has proven to increase students' enthusiasm and collaboration. The learning environment became more interactive, engaging, and supportive of collaboration. The implementation of the TEL model has been effective in supporting a more interactive and collaborative Indonesian language learning process at MTs Humaira.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form and meaning of affixation, reduplication, and composition in the Latoa Manuscript by Prof. Dr. Mattulada. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a reading and recording technique as a data collection technique, which is then analyzed through the stages of identification, classification, analysis, and description. The results show that the process of affixation in the manuscript includes the use of the prefixes maK-, paK-, and teK- , the suffix -na, and the ma-, -pi suffix which not only form a new word, but also expand the lexical meaning and show changes in sound through phonological processes such as regressive assimilation. Reduplication is found in full and partial forms, both stand-alone and accompanied by affixes such as maccule-cule, with the function of reinforcing the meaning of intensity, repetition of actions as in the word manu-manu, and expressive emphasis on paccai-caireng. The composition in this manuscript reflects the formation of a new meaning that is idiomatic through the combination of two lexemes that form a unity of meaning that can be found in the word ulu ada. These findings show that morphological processes in the Bugis language have an important role in shaping grammatical structure and contextual conveyance of meaning. This research is expected to enrich the study, especially the morphology of regional languages, as well as support efforts to preserve Bugis cultural heritage through understanding the structure of language in traditional literary works.

Abstract

The problem of domestic waste in East Lombok Regency continues to increase along with population growth and community economic activities, so it requires an integrated and sustainable management system. This study aims to describe the domestic waste management system managed by the Environment and Forestry Service (DLHK) of East Lombok Regency and analyze the obstacles and development potential towards sustainable management. The research location consists of a domestic waste collection and sorting site, the Ijo Balit Final Processing Site (TPA), as well as the Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST) and TPS3R East Lombok. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with DLH field officers and technical officials, as well as analysis of waste management regulations and technical guidelines. The results of the study show that the average daily waste generation reaches ±110 tons, with a composition of about 65% organic waste that has the potential to be processed into compost. Organic waste management is carried out at the Integrated Waste Management Site (TPST) or TPS3R through the stages of sorting, enumerating, aerobic composting, ripening, sieving, and packaging. The compost products produced are used for agricultural activities, reforestation, and productive plant cultivation. The controlled landfill system implemented at the Ijo Balit Landfill is in accordance with the principles of sustainable environmental management because it is equipped with leachate treatment facilities and methane gas capture channels. However, limited infrastructure, an uneven number of TPS3R, and low public awareness are still the main obstacles in effective waste management. This research emphasizes the need to increase infrastructure capacity, community education, and integration of local government and community programs as important strategies to realize effective and sustainable domestic waste management.

Abstract

River water quality monitoring is necessary to maintain the sustainability of aquatic ecosystems and ensure the availability of clean water. The Belimbing River in East Lombok Regency has the potential to experience quality decline due to domestic and agricultural activities in the surrounding area. This study was conducted in the dry season (April) and the rainy season (October) 2024 with sampling at three points (upstream, middle, and downstream). The sampling method used the grab sampling technique, with three replications at each point. Samples were stored in sterile bottles, placed in a cool box at a temperature of ±4°C, and analyzed a maximum of 24 hours after collection. The parameters analyzed included physical (TSS), chemical (pH, DO, BOD, COD, nitrate, and phosphate), and biological (fecal coliform). The analysis was carried out in the laboratory using the standard method SNI 6989.72:2009, with a UV-Vis spectrophotometer for nitrate and phosphate, an oven for TSS, and a titration method for BOD and COD. Fecal coliform analysis used the Most Probable Number (MPN) method. The results showed that most parameters exceeded the Class II water quality standards set by Government Regulation Number 22 of 2021, especially in the downstream area during the dry season. TSS values ​​reached 134 mg/L, BOD 12 mg/L, COD 115 mg/L, and fecal coliform 9,600 MPN/100 mL. The main sources of pollution were domestic waste, agricultural runoff, and poor sanitation. It can be concluded that the water quality of the Belimbing River indicates moderate to severe pollution. Integrated watershed management, community-based waste management, and environmental education are needed to sustainably restore the river's condition.
