Abstract

Background: The increasing of stroke prevalence is high year by year, and Indonesia is the number onefor cause of mortality. After three months, stroke survivors require long-term care. A stroke is a lifelongchange for both the stroke survivor and the family. Family caregiver is included in multidisciplinary thatshould provide the patients with stroke because of the unique demands on that population. There is lack ofstudy about stroke care in Indonesia.Objective: to explore the role and function of family in care of patients with stroke in community,Banjarmasin.Method: A critical ethnography design used in this study to explore and critically analyze role andfunction of family in care of patients with stroke in community. There were 15 key informants (familycaregivers) in this study using purposive sampling. Content analysis was used to answer the researchquestion.Result: Daily care activity, spiritual activity, rehabilitation and offering medicine, decision maker, andfinancial support are the role and function of family in care of patients with stroke in community setting.Conclusion: Family caregivers are playing an important role in caring for their relatives who havesuffered from strokes. They should work together with health workers to help the patient for enhancingthe quality of life of patient.

Abstract

The various clinical symptoms among IMA patients (Infarct Myocard Acute) are chestpain during activity, dyspnea, lethargy and disruption of rest and sleep. These symptompshave impact on rest and sleep disturbance. Sleep disturbances increases adrenaline thatstimulate of heart work, constrict blood vessels, and also heart attacks.The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between sleep quality andincidence of heart attacks among patients with infarct myocard acute at Ulin HospitalBanjarmasin. This study used correlative study with accidental sampling technique. Totalsample was 35 patients in RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin. The instrument was used to measurethe quality of sleep were adopted from The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), andincidents of a heart attack was measured by record observations on the medical record.The results of this study showed that good sleep quality was 22.9%, poor sleep qualitywas 77.1%. Respondent with re-attack was 57.1% and initial attack was 42.9%.Statistical analysis with fisher exact test showed p-value was 0.000, hence there wascorrelation between sleep quality and incidence of heart attack among IMA patients atUlin Hospital Banjarmasin. It is important for nurses to facilitate and conductintervention in term of patients’ rest needs in order to improve sleep quality.

Abstract

The pregnant women experienced anxiety at the end of pregnancy especially the first pregnancy(primigravidae). The previous of the study on 10 pregnant women in primigravidae trimester IIIshowed 9 pregnant women experienced anxiety and all of the pregnant women appraised thequality of sleep was felt bad enough. The objective of the research was to know the correlationbetween the level of anxiety with the quality of sleep on the pregnant women in primigravidaetrimester III at Idaman General Hospital Banjarbaru. The method of this research was thecorrelation research with cross sectional design on 30 pregnant women in primigravidaetrimester III at Idaman General Hospital Banjarbaru. The instruments of the research werePittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and Pregnancy Related Anxiety Questionnaire-Revised 2 (PRAQR2). The data analysis used correlation Spearman test. The analysis of correlation showed thatthe levelof anxiety was significant related to the quality of sleep primigravidae trimester IIIpregnant women (p value=0.013, r=0.449). The level of anxiety influenced the quality of sleepprimigravidae trimester III pregnant women. The lower the level of anxiety is, the better the sleepquality of sleep gets.

Abstract

Family experience when making decisions in critical patients is not an easy thing. Foundmany problems experienced by the family when making decisions such as physiological,psychological, spiritual, social, and cultural issues. Those problems must be overcomeand the resulting decision is the best decision for the patient and the patient's family. Theaim of this research was to explore about family’s experiences in making decision incritical patients. The research design used qualitative research with descriptivephenomenology approach. This research have been done in ICU ofUlin Hospital on July20 to August 6, 2017. The number of informants had reached saturation that was 7informants family of critical patients in ICU. The techniques of data collection in thisstudy has been used in-depth interviews. Data analysis used thematic analysis of Braunand Clarke. The Result found that 6 themes are discussions with family-related to patientcare, information about the action to be taken, patient's cure a top priority, length ofpatient care, patient care funding, and family involvement in patient care. The Advice fornurses and health personnel are to provide all needs of services that must be given to thefamily before making decision.

Abstract

Child development can be viewed from various aspect such as physical, mental, socialand emotional. Emotional development is an important aspect in the pre school childdevelopment. This research aims to analyze the corellation between the childrendevelopment status and children emotional development with aged 36-72 months inSamarinda city. this research used anaylitical method with cross sectional approach. Therespondent of this research were 138 children aged 36-72 months in Samarinda, using purposivesampling with instrument in the form of observation sheet of KPSP and KMME. Research showedthat majority of children were in developmental stage according to age 81.0% and have normalemotional development of 84.8%. The result of the analysis showed the value of corellationcoefficient of 0.204 with significance value (2- tailed) of 0.017 > 0.05. This means that there wasa weak corellation between the child's developmental status with the emotional development ofchildren aged 36-72 months in Samarinda City.

Abstract

Fatigue of nurses that not resolved would cause various problems. This research aims toassess the comparative level of nurse fatigue in intensive care unit of idaman banjarbaruhospital and ratu zalecha martapura hospital. This research used comparative. Thepopulation of this research were nurses of ICU in Idaman Banjarbaru Hospital as manyas 15 people and nurses of ICU Ratu Zalecha Martapura Hospital as many as 16 people,the data presented by cluster sampling; analyzed with the Mann-Whitney test. This studyshowed difference difference between level of fatigue of both hospital. The majority ofnurses fatigue in ICU RSD Idaman Banjarbaru has light fatigue while the majority ofnurses in ICU Ratu Zalecha Martapura had mild fatigue with P Value 0.015. Forhospital management must to assess the suitability of the number of nurses andworkloads to improve the service.

Abstract

Pain assessment of unconsciousness patiens who unable to show their pain respon verbally is an important thing to learn. CPOT is an instrument for scoring the pain of patients who couldn’t doing verbal communication, and Wong Bekker is an easier and faster instrument for pain scale prediction. A sistematic pain assessment on critical unconsciousness patients will reduce long of stay and Healthcare-Associated Infections number. Objective for this research were knowing the effectivity of pain assessment used CPOT and Wong Bekker on critical unconsciousness patients in ICU of Ratu Zalecha Hospital Martapura. Analytic observational experimental by cross sectional on 31 responden in ICU of Ratu Zalecha Martapura, used purposive sampling. This experiment in September up October 2017. Based on the experiment that the CPOT was more effective (17.48) than Wong Bekker (12,54). P Value < 0,05 by mann whitney test. Pain assessment used CPOT was better because pain evaluating based on comprehensive behave signs and indicators. Hospitals may doing pain assessmenet used CPOT.

Abstract

Patient satisfaction during hospitalization is still in low category. The low patient satisfaction isinfluenced by several factors, one of which is the scheduling of nurse service. This study wasmade to know the correlation between scheduling of nurse service and patient satisfication levelat RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin hospital. This research used correlation design with cross sectionalapproach and accidental sampling technique. Research respondents amounted to 92 people.December 2017 research period and measuring instruments used in the form of questionnaires.The result of the analysis shows that there is a positive relationship between scheduling of nursesservice that is perceived by patient with patient satisfaction level in ward of RSUD UlinBanjarmasin. (P Value = 0,000 <0.05). Suggestion of this research is expected to head of roomand nurse to cooperate in determining good service scheduling with manager direction for thecreation of optimal service for patient satisfaction.

Abstract

Maternal mortality rate (MMR) in Indonesia is still high. Various programs that have been doneby the government try to decrease the AKI both promotively and preventively during pregnancyand before childbirth. Nurses play an important role in efforts to minimize and reduce MMRthrough various methods one of them with the utilization of information technology. Not onlynurses, pregnant women should play an active role in finding symptoms and risk factors duringpregnancy. Maternal Emergency Screening (MES) is an information technology design usingexpert systems that can facilitate pregnant women in identifying early risk factors in emergencyemergency and able to make decisions like an expert. The use of Maternal Emergency Screening(MES) provides an opportunity as an early screening system in finding risks of emergencypregnancy and helps nurses to take appropriate care measures in order to reduce MMR.

Abstract

The position of the committee is in structure by the functional role of the organization whosepurpose was to collected, formulated, and communicated the opinions and ideas of the nurse.The purpose of the study was to analyzed the optimization of the role of nursing committeetoward the improvement of nursing service quality at the inpatient of Ulin Banjarmasin GeneralHospital. The research method was analytical descriptive with cross sectional approached. Thesamples in this research were all nurses who served in Inpatient at Ulin Banjarmasin generalhospital. The sample technique using Simple Random Sampling method. the number of sampleswere 92 people. The result of this research is Role of nursing committee in nursing service inRSUD ULIN Banjarmasin shows that 79 respondent or 85,9% is categorized its role optimally.Quality of Nursing Service in RSUD Banjarmasin as many as 70 respondents or 76.1%,categorized well. Result of analysis of relationship of optimization of nursing committee role toimprovement of quality of nursing service in ulin general hospital of Banjarmasin (p value =0,043 <0.05). Optimizing the role of the nursing committee can affect the quality improvement ofnursing services provided to the patient by maintaining the competence and accepting theresponsibilities ofevery action and decision made.
