ABSTRAK Komunikasi efektif menjadi suatu keniscayaan di era akreditasi rumah sakit guna mendukung keselamatan pasien. Kegagalan komunikasi pada pelaksanaan timbang terima menimbulkan dampak serius diantaranya kehilangan informasi penting pasien, kesalahan dalam proses asuhan keperawatan bahkan terjadinya kejadian yang tidak diharapkan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana pelaksanaan timbang terima di Rumah Sakit Kota Banjarbaru. Penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif menggunakan teknik pengambilan data total sampling yang dilakukan pada 35 responden Perawat Penanggung Jawab Asuhan (PPJA) dan perawat penanggung jawab shift. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterlaksanaan timbang terima baik (40,0%), kurang baik (60,0%), hasil observasi waktu menunjukkan bahwa waktu pelaksanaan timbang terima terlama yakni 22 menit 22 detik, dan waktu post timbang terima terlama 4 menit 1 detik. Alur pelaksaaan timbang terima pada shift pagi sesuai (85,7%) tidak sesuai (14,3%), pada shift sore sesuai (100%), pada shift malam tidak sesuai (100%). Perlu adanya peningkatan pemahaman terkait pelaksanaan timbang terima guna mewujudkan komunikasi efektif sesuai tuntutan akreditasi rumah sakit. Failure to communicate in the implementation of the handover has a serious impact, including the loss of important patient information, errors in the nursing care process, and even unexpected events. The purpose of this study was to determine how the implementation of the handover at the Kota Banjarbaru Hospital. Quantitative research with descriptive design using purposive sampling data collection technique carried out on 35 respondents in charge of care nurses (PPJA) and nurses in charge of shifts. The research instrument used an observation sheet. The results showed that the implementation of the hand over was good (40.0%), not good (60.0%), the results of time observations showed that the longest time for receiving the weigh-in was 22 minutes 22 seconds, and the longest post-handover time was 4 minutes 1 second. The flow of the implementation of the handover in the morning shift is appropriate (85.7%) is not suitable (14.3%), the afternoon shift is suitable (100%), the night shift is not suitable (100%). There needs to be an increase in understanding regarding the implementation of consideration and acceptance in order to realize effective communication according to the demands of hospital accreditation.
