Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social impact of the Prevent Stunting Is Important Program implemented by PT BRI (Persero) Tbk through the Social Return on Investment (SROI) approach. This program is part of the company's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) initiative implemented in 24 Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) in 17 Cities/Regencies in Indonesia. The research method uses an evaluative SROI analysis with data collection through in-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and secondary data review. The results show that every Rp 1 invested generates a social benefit value of Rp 1.37 during the period from November 2023 to November 2024. The largest distribution of benefits is received by the community (67.09%), followed by the government (27.69%), and the company (5.22%). This program contributed to a decrease in stunting prevalence by 0.09% with a rate of change reaching 7.98% post-intervention. This study recommends expanding stakeholder engagement, a long-term comprehensive approach, optimizing PMT provision, and adding an economic empowerment component for parents of stunted children to increase program effectiveness.

Abstract

New venture companies often face challenges in maintaining employee retention and optimizing work efficiency. One critical yet often overlooked factor is the role of interior design in shaping office atmosphere, which significantly influences employees’ psychological responses and performance. This study aims to examine how the interior design of PT. Kusuma Sukses Makmur, a newly established medical device company in Sidoarjo, Indonesia, affects employees’ resilience in facing work-related pressure and its impact on task completion efficiency. The research applies a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were first collected through Likert-scale questionnaires distributed to seven administrative employees who had worked for a minimum of six months. This was followed by semi-structured interviews to deepen the interpretation of statistical results. The research investigates how interior elements—including lighting, color, layout, materials, acoustics, and ventilation—contribute to the creation of an atmosphere that influences employee behavior. The findings show that a well-designed office atmosphere, especially one featuring natural lighting, good acoustics, and ergonomic layout, plays a significant role in enhancing emotional stability and focus. This ultimately supports employees’ resistance to stress and increases work efficiency. The study concludes that integrating atmospheric theory into office design strategies is crucial for new ventures in building a productive and emotionally supportive workplace.

Abstract

This study examines how Attitude, as part of the Appraisal framework proposed by Martin and White (2005), is realized in Taylor Swift’s 2022 commencement speech at New York University. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, this research explores how the speaker uses evaluative language to construct interpersonal meaning and engage the audience. The focus is on the three sub-types of Attitude that are Affect, Judgment, and Appreciation, which correspond to expressions of emotion, evaluations of behavior, and assessments of phenomena, respectively. A total of 266 clauses from the speech were analyzed, with 172 identified as containing Attitude expressions. The findings show that positive Attitude overwhelmingly dominates the speech, especially through Affect, reflecting Swift’s strategy to foster empathy, motivation, and solidarity. Judgment is often used to present personal growth and moral insight, while Appreciation is employed to frame life experiences as meaningful. This study contributes to discourse analysis by highlighting how a non-traditional speaker like Taylor Swift constructs educational meaning through personal storytelling. It also demonstrates how celebrity speeches can fulfill the interpersonal and inspirational goals of academic ceremonies, offering a valuable case for Appraisal-based analysis in popular and educational discourse.

Abstract

Posterior fossa tumors in children are a diagnostic challenge that requires early and appropriate treatment. This study aims to evaluate the diagnostic value of Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) and tumor size using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in distinguishing malignant and benign tumors in the posterior fossa of children. The research method uses a retrospective approach with analysis of medical records of pediatric patients undergoing MRI and histopathology examinations at Ngoerah Hospital Denpasar. The results showed that the ADC value of ≤834.6 mm²/s had a sensitivity of 91.3%, a specificity of 70.3%, and an accuracy of 78.0%. Meanwhile, the tumor size >13.2 cm³ has a sensitivity of 91.3%, specificity of 51.8%, and accuracy of 68.0%. The combination of these two parameters resulted in a sensitivity of 87.5%, a specificity of 96.1%, and an accuracy of 92.0%, indicating a significant improvement in diagnostic accuracy. Thus, the simultaneous use of ADC values and tumor size is an effective approach in detecting malignant posterior fossa tumors in children, supporting more accurate diagnosis and appropriate clinical treatment.

Abstract

Dementia is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a significant decline in cognitive function. Some studies suggest that structural changes in the brainstem can contribute to cognitive impairment. However, the relationship between the structural anatomical parameters of the brainstem and cognitive function impairment based on the Indonesian version of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) Score in patients with clinical dementia is still not widely studied. This study is an analytical observational study involving 65 patients with clinical dementia who underwent a head MRI examination at Ngoerah Hospital, Denpasar, Bali. The analyzed brainstem structural anatomical parameters included the diameter of the midbrain anteroposterior (AP), midbrain-to-pons ratio, superior cerebellar peduncle (SCP) width, middle cerebellar peduncle (MCP) width, and interpeduncular angle. The relationship between these parameters and cognitive function was measured using the MoCA-Ina score and analyzed by correlation and logistic regression tests. The average diameter of the AP midbrain was 11.1 cm (± 1.63 cm), the median midbrain-to-pons ratio was 0.19, and the median width of SCP and MCP was 1.8 cm and 7.9 cm, respectively. The results of the analysis showed that there was a sufficient positive relationship between the diameter of the AP midbrain and the midbrain-to-pons ratio (r = 0.329, p < 0.001) and between the width of SCP and MCP and the midbrain-to-pons ratio (r = 0.432 and 0.279, p < 0.001). The midbrain-to-pons ratio and MCP width were significantly related to the MoCA-Ina score (r = 0.265 and 0.447, p < 0.001).

Abstract

Spinal cord tumors are uncommon neoplasms that pose significant clinical challenges due to their potential to cause progressive neurological deficits. These tumors may originate from the spinal cord parenchyma, meninges, nerve roots, or surrounding vertebral structures, and are classified by location as intramedullary, intradural extramedullary, or extradural. Although they represent a small fraction of central nervous system tumors, their impact on motor, sensory, and autonomic function can be profound. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is the modality of choice for the assessment of lesions within the spinal canal, providing detailed information on lesion location, morphology, and compressive effects. Accurate imaging is essential for diagnosis, surgical planning, and optimizing patient outcomes. This case series describes three patients presenting with spinal tumors and associated neurological symptoms. The first case involves an 18-year-old female with progressive right-hand hemiparesis. MRI revealed an intradural intramedullary lesion at the C5–C6 level with an intramedullary syrinx, suggestive of hemangioblastoma, confirmed histologically by vascular proliferation and atypical cells. The second case is a 42-year-old male with chronic neck pain and left arm weakness for seven months. MRI showed an intradural extramedullary mass at C2–C3 and central disc protrusion, diagnosed histopathologically as cellular schwannoma. The third case features a 49-year-old female with paraparesis, lower back pain, urinary incontinence, and a history of cervical adenocarcinoma. MRI revealed an extradural metastatic mass at T7–T9 levels, suggestive of metastatic mass. MRI is the best imaging modality for evaluating and diagnosing patients with suspected spinal tumors.

Abstract

Ovarian tumors are one of the most commonly found gynecological malignancies, with significant differences in characteristics between benign and malignant tumors. An abdominal CT scan is often used to evaluate ovarian mass, but there is no standard scoring system to determine ovarian tumor malignancy based on imaging findings. This study aims to obtain the validity of the abdominal CT scan scoring system in distinguishing benign and malignant ovarian tumors. This study is an observational study with a diagnostic test by analyzing 70 cases of ovarian tumors that have been confirmed through histopathology at Ngoerah Hospital. The variables analyzed included socio-demographic characteristics such as menarche age and family history of malignancy (breast or ovarian malignancy), tumor size, location, tumor components, wall thickness, septa, papillary projection, contrast enhancement, as well as additional findings such as ascites and pelvic organ invasion. Statistical analysis was performed to assess the relationship between these variables and the malignancy status of ovarian tumors. Of the total 70 cases, 53 masses (75.7%) were malignant and 17 masses (24.3%) were benign. The analysis showed that parameters such as bilateral location, solid-cystic components, contrast enhancement, as well as the presence of ascites, thickening of the peritoneum, and invasion of the pelvic organs had a higher tendency to malignancy, although some variables did not show statistical significance. The scoring system developed showed that the cut-off score ≥4 had a sensitivity of 83.02% and specificity of 64.7%, positive predictive value of 88%, negative predictive value of 55%, with diagnostic accuracy of 78.57%.

Abstract

The Practice License (SIP) is an official acknowledgment of healthcare professionals’ competence and serves as a regulatory tool to ensure patient safety and high service standards. The addition of a submission duration feature is expected to accelerate the SIP issuance process and improve the overall quality of licensing services. This study aims to analyze the effects of submission duration and service quality on healthcare professionals’ satisfaction, both individually and simultaneously, and to determine which factor has the strongest influence. A quantitative approach was applied, using questionnaires for data collection and SPSS version 24 for data analysis. From a total population of 443 healthcare professionals who applied for a SIP via the e-Simpadu system between January 2 and October 31, 2024, a sample of 210 respondents was selected using Slovin’s formula. Multiple linear regression analysis was used. The partial test showed that submission duration (t = 16.088) and service quality (t = 9.226) both had significant effects, with t-values exceeding the critical t-table value of 1.971. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influenced satisfaction (F = 689.329 > 3.00; sig = 0.00). Among the two, submission duration was the most dominant factor, contributing 56.62% (β = 0.627), while service quality contributed 30.28%.
