Abstract

This research examines red mud as a partial cement substitute in concrete, comparing normal concrete with 25% red-mud concrete (RM25) based on compressive strength, economic feasibility, waste absorption, and LCA environmental impact. Compressive strength tests were conducted at KAN-accredited Wika Beton Laboratory, and economic feasibility was evaluated using NPV, BCR, and IRR for paving-block production. The waste absorption capacity was calculated based on an annual production volume of 5,000 m². The LCA assessment was carried out in accordance with ISO 14040:2006, covering goal and scope definition, life cycle inventory (LCI), life cycle impact assessment (LCIA), and interpretation. The results showed that RM25 achieved a compressive strength of 36.93 MPa at 30 days, higher than normal concrete with 34.15 MPa. Economically, RM25 recorded a production cost of IDR 1,480,085/m³, with a positive NPV, an IRR of 43.9%, and BCR > 1. In addition, RM25 enabled the absorption of approximately 41.8 tons of red mud waste per year in paving-block production. The LCA results also indicated a reduction in environmental impacts, particularly in the global warming potential category, due to reduced cement consumption. Overall, the 25% red-mud formulation is considered feasible for practical implementation as it meets both technical and economic requirements while providing environmental benefits through emission reduction and enhanced industrial waste utilization.

Abstract

Public spaces and quasi-public spaces such as cafes serve not only as places of consumption, but also as spaces for social experience, interaction, and relaxation. This study analyzed the influence of furniture layout on the architectural experience of visitors at Lamiao Cat Café as a quasi-public space. The method used was qualitative research with an observational approach through behavior mapping techniques, including person-centered mapping and place-centered mapping. This approach is employed to examine the relationship between spatial configuration, visitor behavior patterns, and the spatial experience formed. The results show that furniture layout affects circulation patterns, intensity of space use, and visitor comfort levels. Architectural experiences are formed in layers and sequentially, ranging from perceptual experiences through spatial readability and orientation, bodily and movement experiences through ease of circulation, to emotional experiences related to comfort and privacy. The accumulation of these experiences shapes the meaning of space for visitors. This study confirms that furniture layout functions as a guide to architectural experience, not merely as a functional element of space

Abstract

The implementation of Auditing Standard (SA) 701 on Communicating Key Audit Matters (KAM) represents a major development in auditor reporting—particularly within the banking industry, which is characterized by high regulatory intensity, operational complexity, and significant risk exposure. SA 701 requires auditors to disclose matters that required significant professional judgment during the audit, with the objective of enhancing transparency and increasing the informational value of the auditor’s report for stakeholders. This research aims to analyze KAM disclosures among Indonesian banking issuers during the 2022–2024 period and to identify challenges in implementing SA 701 at the public accounting firm (KAP) level. This descriptive qualitative case study analyzed 141 audited financial statements of banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, supported by semi-structured interviews with engagement partners from Big Four and Non–Big Four firms. KAM disclosures were classified into account-level and entity-level categories to identify patterns in determining significant audit areas. The results show that the average number of KAMs disclosed per auditor’s report is 1.32, consisting of 1.07 account-level KAMs and 0.26 entity-level KAMs. Allowance for Expected Credit Losses (ECL/CKPN) is the most frequently disclosed KAM, appearing in all observations, followed by issues related to financial reporting information systems. These findings indicate that credit risk assessment and IT system reliability remain the primary audit focus in the banking sector. While SA 701 does not substantially alter audit procedures, it increases documentation, coordination, and review requirements.

Abstract

The enactment of the 2023 Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP 2023) and the 2025 Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP 2025) marks a fundamental paradigm shift in Indonesia’s criminal justice system. These reforms require a consistent application of law to prevent fragmented judicial practices and sentencing disparities. In this context, the Supreme Court issued Supreme Court Circular Letter Number 1 of 2026 as a guideline for the implementation of the new Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code. This article aims to analyze the position and function of Supreme Court Circular Letter Number 1 of 2026 as a form of judicial policy, as well as its implications for judicial independence and court governance. This study employs a normative juridical method using statutory, conceptual, and judicial policy approaches. The findings indicate that Supreme Court Circular Letter Number 1 of 2026 constitutes a strategic and transitional judicial policy instrument to maintain the unity of criminal justice practices. Nevertheless, its implementation must be positioned proportionately as an interpretative guideline to prevent it from evolving into a form of quasi-legislation that may unduly restrict judicial discretion. Accordingly, future judicial policy of the Supreme Court should be strengthened through an adaptive, reflective, and continuously evaluated approach.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the relationship between viral load levels and the incidence of oral candidiasis among HIV/AIDS patients at the RSUD Jombang during the 2023–2025 period. This analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design used secondary data from medical records of HIV/AIDS patients at RSUD Jombang (2023–2025). The independent variable was viral load level and the dependent variable was oral candidiasis incidence. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses (Kruskal-Wallis and Chi-Square tests), examining viral load and other variables including age, gender, occupation, comorbidity, marital status, education level, and antifungal medication use. The research involved 402 patients, of whom 322 (80.1%) had an undetectable viral load, 26 (6.5%) had a suppressed viral load, and 54 (13.4%) had an unsuppressed/high viral load. Bivariate analysis showed that neither numerical viral load (p=0.97) nor ordinal viral load (p=0.22) had a significant relationship with the incidence of oral candidiasis. Other variables such as age (p=0.18), gender (p=0.88), occupation (p=0.62), comorbidity (p=0.71), marital status (p=0.08), and antifungal medication use (p=0.64) also showed no significant relationship. However, educational level was found to have a significant association with the incidence of oral candidiasis (p=0.04). Overall, these findings suggest that educational level plays an important role in the occurrence of oral candidiasis among HIV/AIDS patients, indicating that targeted educational interventions and increased patient awareness regarding viral load management and oral hygiene may help reduce the incidence of this infection.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between child parenting styles and the incidence of speech delay in children under 5 years old at YARSI Hospital. A quantitative analytical cross-sectional design was used with total sampling of 102 children diagnosed with speech delay over 6 months. Parenting styles were assessed for seven caregiver types (father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, uncle, aunt, domestic assistant/ART). Speech delay was classified as functional (environmentally-driven) or non-functional (biologically-linked). For fathers, permissive indulgent parenting was dominant (35.3%). For mothers, authoritarian parenting was dominant (39.2%). Functional speech delay occurred in 72 children (70.6%), while non-functional speech delay occurred in 30 children (29.4%). Bivariate analysis using Chi-Square showed a significant relationship between maternal parenting style and speech delay (p = 0.027). Notably, all non-functional speech delay cases occurred in the authoritarian parenting group, while authoritative parenting had zero non-functional cases. Domestic assistant (ART) parenting also showed a significant relationship with speech delay (p = 0.046). These findings underscore the importance of verbal stimulation in parenting settings, including from domestic assistants, in supporting children's language development. From an Islamic perspective, children are a trust (amanah), and parents bear responsibility for responsive, communicative child-rearing.

Abstract

A portable floating net cage system is developed in this project to support aquaculture monitoring by integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) with the Robot Operating System (ROS 2). The system is designed to measure water quality parameters while autonomously navigating within the aquaculture area. To perform environmental monitoring, the device utilizes several sensors, including a pH sensor, a DS18B20 temperature sensor, and a turbidity sensor. These sensors are connected to an ESP32 microcontroller that processes the collected data and transmits it using the MQTT communication protocol. The navigation capability of the system is managed by a Pixhawk flight controller integrated with a GPS module, enabling automatic movement across designated locations. System control and monitoring are carried out through Mission Planner and QGroundControl. For power supply, the device relies on a renewable energy system consisting of a 20 Wp solar panel, a Solar Charge Controller (SCC), and a 12V 7.5Ah Li-ion battery, allowing the platform to operate independently in open-water environments. System evaluation is conducted by testing sensor accuracy using standard calibration solutions, followed by the implementation of a Kalman Filter to enhance the stability and reliability of the measurement data. The automatic navigation testing is conducted based on GPS coordinates to assess the accuracy of the device’s movement in the field. The results show that the sensor accuracy reaches 98.2%, with pH error ranging from 0.2% to 5%, DS18B20 temperature sensor error ranging from 0.25% to 0.50%, and turbidity error ranging from 2% to 3.5%.

Abstract

The redesign of the Tiu Spara Dam main dam was carried out in response to changes in technical conditions and operational needs of the project, but this process has the potential to pose various risks that can affect the stability, safety, and performance of the dam. This study aims to identify risk indicators, analyze risk levels and priorities, and formulate risk control strategies in the redesign of the Tiu Suntuk Dam main dam. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach based on ISO 31000:2018 risk management, with data collection through field observations, interviews, literature studies, and questionnaire dissemination to experienced respondents. Risk analysis was conducted using the Severity Index method to assess the probability and impact of the risk, which was subsequently mapped into a risk matrix. The results showed that the highest risk came from the technical aspects, namely changes in soil carrying capacity, availability of materials for new designs, and suitability of dam design with actual slope conditions, all of which fall under the category of extreme risk. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen technical investigations, design adjustments, improve work quality control, and implement systematic and integrated risk management. This research is expected to be a reference in risk management in similar dam projects to improve structural safety and the sustainability of dam functions.

Abstract

This research discusses the disparity of judges’ decisions in criminal assault cases resulting in severe injuries within the Indonesian criminal justice system. Sentencing disparity has become an important legal issue because differences in punishment for similar criminal acts may undermine legal certainty, justice, and public trust in the judiciary. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors causing disparities in judges’ decisions and to examine the legal considerations used in imposing criminal sanctions, particularly in cases involving recidivist offenders and serious injuries. This study employed a normative juridical research method using conceptual and case approaches. Data were collected through literature studies involving statutory regulations, court decisions, legal doctrines, and relevant scientific journals. The analysis was conducted qualitatively using descriptive-analytical techniques to compare judicial considerations in similar cases. The findings indicate that disparities in sentencing are influenced by broad judicial discretion, differences in assessing aggravating and mitigating factors, and the absence of detailed sentencing guidelines. Recidivism status, severity of injuries, remorse, and restorative efforts significantly affected judicial decisions. The study concludes that sentencing disparity remains a fundamental issue in Indonesian criminal law enforcement. Therefore, clearer national sentencing guidelines, stronger judicial transparency, and more proportional consideration standards are necessary to ensure fairness, consistency, and accountability in criminal punishment.
