Abstract

This research is based on the importance of companies knowing the factors that can affect the value of the firm in accordance with the development of the times so that the company can continue to survive in success in the long term. This study combines factors related to the company's non-financial performance, including sustainability performance such as ESG performance and the use of independent assurance in sustainability reports as well as other non-financial performance such as the quality of external audits, related party transactions, and political connections to determine the influence of these factors on the firm's value. The method used in this study is a panel data regression analysis method using e-views 9 with a sample of companies in the energy and basic materials sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2021-2023. The results of this study show that the quality of external audits, related party transactions, political connections, environmental performance (ESG_Environment), social performance to employees (ESG_Social Employees) and the use of independent assurance in sustainability reports have no effect on firm value while, social performance to the community (ESG_Social Community) and governance performance (ESG_Governance) have a positive effect on firm value.

Abstract

In this study, community perceptions of waste management will be analyzed by comparing perceptions between female and male communities. The research was conducted in this sub-district with stratified random sampling, with descriptive statistical analysis to provide an overview of the variables that have been measured, then displayed in the form of graphs and diagrams. This study also tested hypotheses for 11 problem formulations with six variables, namely three independent construct variables (X), two intervening variables, and one dependent construct variable (Y). The results showed that most of the women did not know what household-specific waste was and did not sort their waste because they did not have time. The type of waste that is mostly segregated is small electronic waste and female respondents tend to sell segregated specific waste to collectors. As for men, most of them do not know what household-specific waste is and do not segregate waste because they do not have time. The most segregated type of waste is small electronic waste and male respondents tend to keep the segregated specific waste. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that in women, most variables affect each other or have a positive influence. Knowledge and norms do not affect intention, while attitude and perception do not affect behavior. In men, only a small number of variables influence each other or have a positive influence. Attitude influences intention, norms influence behavior and perception, and intention influences behavior.

Abstract

This study investigates parents’ perceived safety on neighborhood bonds and built-environment factors in letting their children roam outside unaccompanied using a qualitative lens. Based on interviews with parents in the Jakarta Greater Area, the research reveals that strong community cohesion and a perceived safe built-environment significantly enhance parents' sense of safety, thereby promoting children’s independent mobility. Conversely, neighborhoods with weaker neighborhood cohesion adding unmaintained built-environments such as and lack of playing field and pedestrian infrastructure heighten parents' fears about allowing unsupervised outdoor activities, thus limiting children's independence. Qualitative insights underscore that parents' primary concerns revolve around perceived risks from traffic and strangers when considering allowing their children to venture out alone. This research underscores the urgency for parents’ education and policy intervention planning that prioritizes walkable, safe routes, and safe parks and fosters strong community ties to promote children’s independent mobility.

Abstract

The importance of knowledge management integration in increasing organisational flexibility in the midst of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, which demands rapid adaptation and responsiveness, requires organisations to continue to innovate in the dynamics of change. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between knowledge management and organisational flexibility and provide practical recommendations to optimise the application of knowledge management to improve organisational responsiveness. The research method uses a qualitative approach with literature study as the main source of data. The results revealed that effective integration between knowledge management and organisational flexibility can provide a significant competitive advantage. However, in its implementation, there are obstacles such as cultural resistance and technological limitations. The conclusion of this study confirms that a thorough and integrated application of knowledge management is the key to increasing organisational flexibility in the digital era. The implication of these findings is the need for organisational commitment to build a culture of knowledge sharing, adopt technologies that support knowledge management and align strategies with overall business objectives to ensure success in the face of change and maintain competitiveness in a dynamic market.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of clinical pathways (CPs) for pediatric Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) inpatients at Hospital X, a Type C hospital in Indonesia, focusing on the role of management in CP development and compliance. Clinical pathways aim to enhance hospital efficiency, quality of care, and patient satisfaction. However, the study identified several issues in CP implementation, including incomplete documentation, lack of socialization and training among staff, and inadequate managerial involvement in CP development and oversight. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with attending physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and medical management, along with analysis of 53 pediatric DHF CPs. Results showed that CP compliance rates were below 80%, and the hospital's organizational role in CP development, as assessed by the ICPAT dimension 6 instrument, was insufficient. Key areas of non-compliance included lack of evidence of clinical governance, integration with other hospital initiatives, and adequate support for CP documentation and variation reporting. Recommendations include increasing management involvement, providing comprehensive training for staff, and implementing regular CP evaluations. The findings highlight the need for stronger multidisciplinary collaboration and hospital management support to optimize CPs, ensure compliance, and improve service quality.

Abstract

The Baduy Indigenous Community is reluctant to accept external influences, including technology and knowledge, which has led them to live in isolation from the advancements of time and modernization due to their customary norms that prohibit members from interacting with technology, including the internet. This research aims to understand the dilemma faced by the Baduy Indigenous Community in preserving their traditional values amid the dynamics of law and globalization. The method employed is qualitative descriptive research. Data collection is conducted through observation, documentation, and interviews with the Baduy community and local residents. The research findings indicate that, in facing the dynamics of law and global trends, the Outer Baduy community undergoes transformation and has adapted to communication technology and gradually accepted global influences. In contrast, the Inner Baduy tribe remains committed to tradition as the inheritors of their Indigenous Culture, thus rejecting change and globalization. However, they face challenges due to the growth of the tribe's members that is not proportionate to their arable land. Concerns about environmental changes and the impact of globalization have entrapped them in a dilemma. Therefore, it is important to recognize that culture is inherently dynamic and evolving.

Abstract

The shift in tourist interest from initially using transportation services through travel agents to now preferring to rent vehicles themselves has become evident. With the increasing number of consumers requiring car rental services and companies expanding their fleet sizes, it is undeniable that the associated risks also increase each year. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to explore the complex risks to vehicle units in car rental companies in Bali and to determine strategies and steps to improve the security quality of vehicle units in these companies. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with an enterprise risk management approach, which includes risk identification, risk analysis, risk assessment, risk management, and risk monitoring. The research results, using the likelihood impact matrix technique on five car rental companies in Bali, identified four common risks: operational risk, financial risk, human resources risk, and external risk, with varying levels of risk from low risk, medium risk, to high risk. Strategies for managing these risks include mitigating medium risks and accepting low risks. The policies derived from this study are in the form of risk analysis and risk management strategies for car rental companies in Bali to enhance the security quality of their vehicle units.
