Abstract

This study aims firstly to explain the increase students' learning motivation, secondly to find out the increase students learning outcomes after learning mathematics using a scientific model with discovery learning type. The research was conducted at MAN 2 Kota Padang  Jalan Gajah Mada no. 100, Padang Utara district. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IPS 1 Man 2 Kota Padang  in the second semester of the 2019/2020 academic year, consisted of 35 people with 19 males and 16 females.The type of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles, each cycle consists of two meetings. The results of the study is first, the implementation of learning using a scientific model with discovery learning type, in the first cycle, it is worth 66.7 and in the second cycle it is 83.3 with a good category; second, questionnaire data about students' mathematics learning motivation, in cycle, I it is worth 78.7 and in cycle II, it is worth 85.2. It means there is an increase of 6.5 points; third, data on students' mathematics learning outcomes, in cycle I obtained an average value of 70 ,8 with classical completeness 51.4% and in the cycle II,  the average value is 81.9 with classical completeness 80%, means that there is an increase in learning outcomes of 11.1 points.In conclusion, the discovery learning model can increase the motivation and mathematics learning outcomes of students in class XI IPS 1 MAN 2 Kota Padang.

Abstract

Islamic education is education that must be instilled as early as possible, even from the time of a mother’s womb. Because basically informal education is the beginning of the development of the child’s character is formed. Children who are happy in family care will bring up good character and are friendly to their environment when he enter the formal and non-formal education environment the will be more dominant and confident. Islamic religious in formal and non-formal schools must be further developed, especially in teaching the character of the personality of students. The problem formulation of this research is how Islamic religious education can be used as a reference in formal and non-formal educational institutions as a way to rediscover the character of students who excel and have good morals according to the guidance of the Prophet SAW. It is intended that Islamic religious education can be used as a benchmark for educational institutional in producing generation of good morals. This education uses the literature review method because in the process of collecting data it takes several book sources as a references. Then used descriptive qualitative to analyze the research that is in the form of a systematic systematic sentence according to the source of the reference.

Abstract

This discussion aims to analyze the role of islamic education in facing the challenges of the current era of globalization. This discussion in focused on what is the era of globalization? What is the effect of globalization on islamic education today? And how is islamic education in the face of challenges in globalization? The data is obtained through library sources which are then analyzed for their relevance to the fact that are happening at this time. And the challenges faced by Islamic education are modernization and technological advances, so that Islamic education is required to be able to adapt to current conditions in order to compete in facing today's global challenges.

Abstract

Scout activities are one of the activities that can foster the disciplined character of students. However, there are still many students who do not understand character building, there are still many students who have not applied the character of discipline, there are still many scouting activities that have not been carried out in schools, and lack of education about the benefits of scouting. This study aims to determine the formation of the disciplined character of students through scouting activities in MTs. Serpong and the supporting and inhibiting factors for the formation of the disciplined character of students in scouting activities at MTs. Serpong. This research is a qualitative research, with the subject of this research includes the head of the madrasa, students, scout coaches and students. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that students who actively participated in scouting activities began to form disciplined characters such as increasing time discipline, being diligent, and obeying school rules. The supporting factors in scouting activities are with the support of school principals, experienced scout coaches and adequate facilities and infrastructure, besides that there are inhibiting factors in the formation of the disciplinary character of scouting activities, namely the lack of support from parents and the lack of understanding of the importance of scouting activities.

Abstract

Social media is an online media where users can easily interact with each other virtually, social media invites anyone who is interested to participate by giving feedback openly, commenting, and sharing information in a fast and unlimited time. It is undeniable that social media has a great influence in one's life. which has indirectly shaped a person's social behavior. However, for the community, especially teenagers, social media has become an addiction that makes users go without opening social media, so they are too comfortable and forget their essence as social beings who must interact directly with the surrounding environment, this has resulted in the community, especially teenagers, having a negative nature. apathetic towards the environment, and creating a young generation that grows into individuals with poor social behavior

Abstract

Two stay two stray is a group learning system with the aim that students can work together, be responsible, help each other solve problems, and encourage each other to excel and train students to socialize well. Interest in learning is a desire or interest accompanied by attention and activity that gives birth to a sense of pleasure in changing behavior, both in the form of knowledge, attitudes and skills. This type of research is CAR which is carried out in two cycles, where in each cycle three meetings are carried out with four stages, namely, planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The subjects in this study were the fourth grade students of SD Negeri 005 Teluk Pantaian, totaling 28 students. Data collection techniques using observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the study regarding the Implementation of Two Stay Two Stray Types of Cooperative Learning in Increasing Students' Interest in Natural Science Subjects Class IV SD Negeri 005 Teluk Pantaian, Gaung Anak Serka District, showed interest in learning before implementing two stay two stray cooperative learning of 54.17 with 'good enough' category. Therefore, it was continued with the first cycle by applying cooperative learning type two stay two stray of 59.99 with the category of 'good enough'. Based on these calculations, it is known that the increase is 5.82. Although there has been an increase but has not reached the expected target of 70, this research is continued with cycle II of 71.35 with the category of 'good', and has reached the expected target of 70, so this research is considered to be increasing. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Implementation of Cooperative Learning Type Two Stay Two Stray Can Increase Student Interest in Natural Science Subjects Class IV SD Negeri 005 Teluk Pantaian, Gaung Anak Serka District.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a product in the form of a mathematics module based on Contextual Teaching Learning for fourth grade elementary school students in accordance with the 2013 curriculum and produce valid, practical and effective modules for use in learning.This research is a development research with a four-D development model. Based on the results of the analysis of assessments by the three experts, namely: 80 linguists, 90 media experts, 95 material experts, it shows that the contextual teaching learning- based mathematics module on statistical material meets the very valid criteteria.While the results of the research on teacher practicality sheets obtained an average of 87,5% and students consisting of 6 people obtained an average of 93,3% that the Contextual Teaching Learning-based Mathematics Module met the very practical criteria. And the results of the research on the effectiveness of all fourth grade students showed that the Mathematics Module based on Contextual Teaching Learning met the criteria for being quite effective with a final score of 75, so it can be concluded that the Mathematics Module based on Contextual Teaching Learning statistical material met the criteria of being valid, practical and effective and could be used in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study, first, is to explain the increase in students' mathematics learning activities, second, to find out the increase in students' mathematics learning outcomes, after the learning process uses a post solution posing problem posing model.This research is located at MAN 2 Padang City Jalan Gajah Mada no. 100 North Padang District. The subjects of this study were 36 students of class XI IPS 3 for the academic year 2019/2020, consisting of 12 males and 24 females. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR), which has two cycles, each of which consists of two meetings. The results of this study, first, for learning activities there was an increase from meeting 1 to meeting 2 in cycle I as well as in cycle II, there was an increase for each activity observed, second, students' mathematics learning outcomes in cycle I, the average value the average is 65, completed 12 people with classical completeness 33.33% and in the second cycle obtained learning outcomes with an average value of 77.94 and completed 23 people with classical completeness 64%. In conclusion, the post-solution posing type of problem posing learning model can increase the activity and learning outcomes of students in class XI IPS 3 MAN 2, Padang City.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to know (1) whether there was any significant improvement in students’ listening comprehension achievement after being taught by using English pop songs at the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 38 Palembang; (2) whether there was any significant mean difference in students’ listening comprehension achievement between the students who are taught by using English pop songs and those who are not. The research design of this research was a quasi-experimental design. The population of this research was all the seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 38 Palembang. Sample of this research was class 7.1 as the control group, which consisted of 34 students, and class 7.2 as the experimental group, which consisted of 34 students. Technique of collecting the data used in this research was pre-test and post-test. Then, the data were analyzed by using paired sample t-test and independent sample t-test through SPSS v.25 programs. The result of paired sample t-test in the experimental group showed that t-obtained was 19,380 > t-table (df = 33) at the significance level of 0,05 was 2,034. It means that there was a significant improvement in students' listening comprehension achievement after being taught by using English pop songs. Furthermore, the result of the independent sample t-test showed that t-obtained was 7,858 > t-table (df = 66) at the significance level of 0,05 was 1,996. It means that there was a significant mean difference between the experimental group and the control group. The research findings showed that teaching listening using English pop songs was effective in improving students’ listening comprehension achievement at the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 38 Palembang.

Abstract

This classroom action research was conducted with the aim of knowing the improvement of students' physics practicum learning outcomes on light wave material using the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) type of cooperative learning model. The research subjects were students of class XI IPA.6 MAN 2 Kota Padang in the 2020/2021 academic year. The research was carried out in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Cycle I was carried out on the practical material of parallel plan glass refraction and the second cycle on the practical material of the diffraction grating. Students' practicum activity data is extracted with Student Activity Observation Sheets, teacher practicum learning management data is extracted with Learning Management Observation Sheets, while students' practicum learning outcomes data are excavated using Formative Tests in the form of practice. The results showed that: (1) Cycle I involving students with high initial abilities obtained an average learning outcome of 78.56 and a percentage of completeness 41%; (2) Cycle II involving students with high initial abilities and being given material and skill reinforcement obtained an average learning outcome of 87.78 and a 95% completeness percentage; (3) The learning outcomes of students' physics practicum in the second cycle have increased from the first cycle, both on average and the percentage of completeness. In conclusion, the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) learning model can improve students' physics practicum learning outcomes.
