Abstract

This research is part of the knowledge and skills of the S.O.S Scheduled Oil Sampling program conducted inPreventive Maintenance practical course in the distribution curriculum of D3 Heavy Equipment Engineering Study Program of Padang State Polytechnic[9]. Laboratory S.O.S Oil is a labor that could see the characteristics of the final drive oil completely, that the quality of the oil used to lubricate the system in final drive can be known as the condition of final drive. Data from S.O.S Oil Laboratory can be used as a reference in conducting in-depth analysis by engineer related to the condition of machine’s final drive. If the condition of the final drive can be known due the operation, it will ease the heavy equipment technicians to perform Preventive Maintenance. The writer’s current research will focus first on the analysis of oil quality defilement caused by wear of the components of final drive. The inner components of the final drive which streamed by lubricant are highly could cause wear and tear by friction between the materials operating in the   final drive’s working system[5]. The oil on the final drive has specifications or properties that would affect final drive performance. The oli used in final drives uses single gread oils such as S.A.E 50, which are applied to final drives of   eleven-ton excavators[6]. The wear of components in the final drive will be seen from the quality of the final drive oil, if the wear occurs is greater, the  work of anti-wear  additives on the oil  is begins to decrease that there must be a solution and analysis obtained. Test results will be obtained based on test data from the S.O.S.  Laboratory.  The Laravel framework with Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture is used to create this website for visualization the result.

Abstract

The implementation of Carrier Aggregation makes it possible to expand spectrum use by combining several bandwidth channels that work like a single spectrum. The LTE network is deployed on several bandwidth channels, namely 1.4MHz, 3MHz, 5MHz, 10MHz, 15MHz and 20MHz. Each bandwidth channel that is correlated with the implementation of carrier aggregation will occupy a different and non-adjacent frequency band, namely 900MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz and 2300MHz. In this research, we tested the effect of a combination of CAs that occupy non-adjacent frequency bands on uplink and downlink performance. Measuring and analyzing network performance to determine throughput using several supporting software, namely Tems Investigation, Tems Discovery and Gnet Track. There was an increase in the downlink throughput and uplink throughput values due to the implementation of CA compared to not using CA. The maximum Downlink Throughput value in the CA combination is greater than the Uplink Throughput. The maximum Downlink throughput value on CA 20+20Mhz is 9427kbps, while the Uplink value is 1133.28kbps. The maximum downlink throughput value on CA 20+15Mhz is 8272.24kbps, and the maximum uplink throughput value is 745kbps.

Abstract

The level of student attendance at tertiary institutions has a crucial role in determining the quality of education. The Information Technology Department at Padang State Polytechnic realizes the urgent need to increase the efficiency of managing student attendance, which currently still relies on a manual attendance system. As an innovative solution, this research proposes designing a face-based attendance system that utilizes facial recognition technology to verify student attendance automatically. One of the challenges in developing a face-based attendance system is the accuracy of calculating the distance between the student's location and the institutional location. To overcome this problem, the research used the Vincenty Formula method which was proven to have a high level of accuracy in calculating the distance between two points on the earth. The integration of this method is expected to increase the accuracy of calculating the distance between the student's location and the institution. Apart from that, this attendance system adopts the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm, an algorithm specifically designed to process two-dimensional data. CNN is used to learn and detect features in images so that facial recognition can be done with a high level of accuracy. This approach is expected to improve system performance in recognizing and verifying student attendance.

Abstract

FTTH is a concept that uses fiber optic networks. In the FTTH optical network, one of the devices is an Optical Distribution Point (ODP). There are 2 methods for installing ODP, namely connecting the direct area cable and branching the main distribution cable or branching. In previous studies, branching was only done from ODC to ONT and Optical Light Source (OLS) as a substitute for OLT, so there is no internet network that customers can directly access using ONT. In this study, the author discusses how to activate FTTH devices from OLT to ONT customers, with a comparison before and after activation using a 1:4 passive splitter. Then the attenuation that can be produced is 28.54. Therefore network activation on ODP Branching is very efficient because the resulting attenuation does not exceed 28dB, which is in accordance with PT Telecommunications ITU-T G.948 standards.

Abstract

The growth of information technology throughout the world is now faster and stronger than before, one of which is Information Systems. The development of the Nagari information system in Kotobaru Simalanggang aims to increase the efficiency of Nagari administrative staff in searching for population data while making it easier for the public to manage administrative documents such as correspondence. This system enables users to process documents such as letters through a special website. To improve the accuracy of data searches, the Boyer-Moore algorithm was used, with Population Identification Numbers (NIK) and resident names as search criteria. The Laravel framework with Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture is used to create this website. The waterfall technique is used in the research process. This strategy was chosen because each stage must wait for the preceding stage to be completed before proceeding. In data search, the implementation of the Boyer-Moore method yields a 100% accuracy rate. This guarantees that the public receives the most relevant information.

Abstract

Agriculture is one of the most important areas of human activity around the world. As the population increases, it is necessary to increase agricultural production. In the age of information technology, information plays a key role in people's lives. Agriculture is rapidly becoming a highly development-intensive industry where farmers need to collect and evaluate a large amount of information in their business processes to become more efficient in production and communicate information accordingly. Modernizing agriculture requires technological know-how for the efficient use of agricultural inputs. It deals with factors such as ecological footprint, product safety, labor welfare, nutritional responsibility, plant/animal health and welfare, economic responsibility and local market presence. They cover almost all stages in the production chain concerning day-to-day agricultural tasks, transactional activities for all stakeholders involved, and support for information transparency in the food chain. The use of information technology and network infrastructure currently enables the application of technology in agricultural business processes, but there is no standardized solution to enable interoperability and integration among services and stakeholders. Farming Management System (FMS) is expected to be a solution and standard in the use of technology in agriculture. Farming management system is a management system specifically designed to assist farmers or farm managers in managing their farming operations more efficiently and effectively. This system usually consists of integrated software and hardware to monitor and collect data from various aspects of agriculture, such as irrigation, fertilization, pesticide spraying, etc.

Abstract

Visual Complexity Effect is a term used in psychology to describe how people react to complex visual information. Typically, the more complicated or complex the visual information, the more difficult it is for people to process and understand it. The effects of visual complexity can also affect reaction times, cognitive abilities, and decision making. In everyday life, data visualization and complex graphs can be a challenge for many people, especially if they are not used to that type of information. Therefore, graphic designers and application developers try to minimize visual complexity so that it can be understood and used easily by users.

Abstract

To monitor quality improvement and student learning outcomes, schools must adopt a Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA). The Minimal Competence Assessment consists of two sub-tests: literacy and numeracy. This is in accordance with the provisions of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology in order to improve the quality of learning and student learning outcomes. The existing test method has limits with school resources that cannot satisfy the quota of pupils who can utilize the program jointly. In addition, the existing system is incapable of displaying student grades because the evaluation is a cumulative score for the whole student body. Hence, the school constructed a web service-based application utilizing the Representational State Transfer approaches so that it could independently administer complete numeracy and literacy assessments to its pupils, allowing schools to track their students' numeracy and literacy improvement. The system is constructed utilizing two distinct platforms, namely web-based apps and mobile applications based on Android. Web-based application was developed for admin and teachers while mobile application was developed for students. The findings of this study's testing indicated that the web service application performed as predicted. According to the findings of the questionnaires given to evaluate the application's usability using the Nielsen technique, teachers were happy with the application's Learnability, Memorability, Efficiency, Errors, and Satisfaction. The majority of instructors are satisfied with the implementation of this Minimum Competence Application, according to the survey findings.

Abstract

The process of collecting data and classifying the level of economic status of the residents of Nagari is currently manual, so the efficiency in data collection is less than ideal. As a result, the population of Nagari is not well controlled by government authorities due to the lack of detailed government supervision. Therefore, a classification application system is needed that can overcome these problems. In making a classification application system, it will be analyzed using the K-Nearest Neighbor method for grouping the economic level of the community, where data from each occupant of Nagari is used as criteria. It is hoped that this classification application can facilitate the grouping of the economic class of the population, so that the regent of village can make decisions on assistance from the system.

Abstract

Internet is gaining new heights in today’s technological environment. Internet of things (IoT) is a new class of Internet-basedheterogeneous networked application systems that uses various types of sensors/detectors and devices for the exchange and collection of data. Due to their applications in situations such as building home automation, emergencies, crisis management, energy management, and healthcare, path optimization and message security becomes of topmost importance in IoT. An optimized routing scheme using intelligent mathematical techniques including Genetic Algorithms (GA) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), is proposed here and an optimized route can be encrypted using cryptographic techniques. From the simulation results, it has been found that the overall efficiency of the IoT system can be greatly improved with the proposed model. A comparison is also provided in the discussion section which demonstrates that hybrid algorithms developed for IoT systems perform much better than traditional routing algorithms.
