The term community service refers to activities that utilize relevant science and technology to advance the welfare of the community and educate the nations life. This journal publishes articles with topics such as theoretical innovations or methods or strategies for implementing community service activities, community service management innovations, university-community partnership strengthening programs, as well as other topics related to the impact and best practices in the implementation of community service to society. Praxis accepts article submissions from all over the world. All accepted articles will be published for payment of an article processing fee, and will be available free of charge to all readers with worldwide visibility and coverage. Praxis accepts article manuscripts with the following types Research Article: contains a quantitative, qualitative, or combination method study that shows the impact of community service projects on local communities, students, lecturers, or institutions. Reflective Essays contain sharp reflections on current issues or ideas related to community service based on literature. Projects with Prospects contains a description of the early stages of a community service project with an initial indication of its impact long-term evaluation plan a plan for how the project will remain sustainable; and best practices for readers to emulate. Book Reviews contains reviews of books related to community service which are more than just content descriptions, in order to analyze and extract their implications for theory and practice.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada guru di SMK Murni 2 Surakarta tentang video editing untuk mendukung kegiatan dokumentasi aksi nyata dalam implementasi platform merdeka mengajar (PMM) dengan Canva. Kegiatan pengabdian terbagi dalam tiga tahap yaitu (1) Tahap Persiapan; (2)Tahap Pelaksanaan; (3)Tahap Pendampingan. Kegiatan pelatihan dapat meningkatkat pemahaman para guru dalam membuat video aksi nyata yang akan diunggah pada aplikasi Platform Merdeka Mengajar (PMM). Beberapa fasilitas dan tools dari Canva Video Suite terbukti sangat familiar bagi peserta pelatihan dan mudah untuk digunakan dalam membuat dan edit proyek video aksi nyata. Keberhasilan kegiatan ditunjukkan dengan (1) Adanya kesesuaian materi dengan kebutuhan peserta untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membuat konten video aksi nyata; (2) Adanya respon yang positif dari peserta untuk bisa memanfaatkan aplikasi Canva Video Suite sesuai kebutuhan masing-masing.

Abstract

Research skills, writing scientific articles, and scientific publications are essential for students. The purpose of this service program is to provide education to the participants in research, article writing, and scientific journals. This service program used the Asset Based for Community Development (ABCD) method. This service has five stages: potential identification, asset mapping, program analysis, program implementation, and evaluation. The service results showed that the service participants have writing potential that can be developed. The program chosen is a workshop. After attending the workshop, the participants could conduct research in the field of Biology, write the research results in scientific articles and submit them to appropriate national journals. It is hoped that this service program will not only be carried out among students but can also be carried out with a broader range of participants such as teachers, students, or santri.

Abstract

Technological developments are happening so fast, one of which is website technology. So that people are required to follow the development of these technologies. However, most of our people still do not understand or understand technology which makes it difficult to achieve the industrial revolution 4.0. In fact, many IT graduates do not have the skills needed by the industry today. Therefore the author carries out community service with the target of SMK students where skills improvement must be carried out as quickly as possible before they enter the world of lectures or the world of work. This activity is training on building a portfolio website using the bootstrap v5.3 framework, which starts from an introduction (basic) to produce the desired website product. The results of this training activity were that the participants were very enthusiastic, motivated, and all succeeded in building a portfolio website as taught with very good results.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan media sosial sebagai media promosi banyak dimanfaatkan oleh UMKM. Penggunaan media sosial untuk promosi menawarkan biaya yang murah, pengoperasian yang mudah, dan tidak harus memiliki keahlian di bidang IT sehingga dapat dijangkau pasar yang lebih luas. Setiap tahun pengguna media sosial selalu meningkat mulai dari Tiktok, instagram dan facebook. Pemanfaatan media sosial untuk promosi bertujuan meningkatkan penjualan hal tersebut melatarbelakangi kegiatan pembinaan ini dengan memaksimalkan peran media sosial untuk UMKM batik. Pengabdian ini dilakukan pada UMKM Alfa Shoofa Batik Kudus, Kecamatan Gribig, Kabupaten Kudus selama satu bulan sejak tanggal 6 Juli 2023. Permasalahan mengenai kurang optimalnya penggunaan media sosial sebagai media promosi menjadi penyelesaian utama dalam pembinaan UMKM ini. Metode yang dapat dilakukan adalah pelatihan dan pembinaan pemanfaatan media sosial untuk peningkatan penjualan pada marketplace. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa bimbingan dan pelatihan yang dilakukan sangat bermanfaat dan mengajarkan UMKM Alfa Shoofa Batik kudus menyusun content promosi sekaligus mengarsipkan dokumen-dokumennya yang penting, terutama produk-produk batik yang dihasilkan.

Abstract

Introduction to Website Structure, Tools, and Web Developer Careers is a community service activity carried out at the Jambi Medan Private Vocational School. This activity aims to provide basic knowledge about website development to SMK students, introduce tools and tools used by Web Developers, and discuss potential careers in this field. Activity methods include preparation of plans, introductions, presentations, demonstrations, making portfolios, discussions, and evaluations. This activity was held at a school location involving 20 students as participants. The results and discussion show that this activity had a positive impact on the participants. They gain a basic understanding of website structure and tools used in web development. The motivation to learn more in the field of web development has also increased, and this course provides an initial guide to building simple websites. Students feel better prepared to enter the technological world of work with potential careers as Web Developers or Web Designers. This activity helps them in preparing themselves for a future that is more connected with technology.

Abstract

Training in the field of website design using Figma has been conducted for male and female students of Private Vocational High School (SMK) Jambi Medan. The objective of this training is to provide a fundamental understanding and skills in designing layout and visual aspects of websites using the collaborative design tool, Figma. The training method involves a series of practical sessions that focus on introducing Figma, basic web design concepts, layout principles, effective use of colors and typography, as well as the implementation of interactive elements. Step-by-step guidance is given to the students in creating website designs from scratch to completion, including collaborative team processes to enhance their creativity and understanding of responsive and aesthetic design. The results of this training demonstrate an improved understanding among the students of the fundamental concepts of web design and practical proficiency in using Figma. They are capable of producing simple website designs with well-structured layouts, appropriate color choices, and suitable typography. Furthermore, the students are also capable of implementing interactive elements such as links, buttons, and dropdown menus in their designs. In conclusion, the website design training using Figma provides significant benefits for students of Private Vocational High School Jambi Medan. They have acquired foundational knowledge and practical skills in creating appealing and responsive website designs, potentially opening new opportunities in the realms of design and technology.

Abstract

Tari Kuntulan merupakan tari tradisional desa karangsari yang mengadaptasi dari gerakan silat dan diiringi dengan ayat alquran, sholawat, Bahasa Indonesia dan juga Bahasa jawa dan alat pengiring seni kuntulan yaitu kencer dan bedhug, tari kuntul ini sudah cukup terkenal di desa karangsari , dan mampu menarik minat para generasi muda untuk mempelajari tari tersebut. Penelitian ini mengambil subjek Upaya Mempertahankan Eksistensi tari Kuntul . Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mendiskripsikan Upaya Mempertahankan Eksistensi Tari Kuntul di Desa karangsari Kecamatan Pulosari Kabupaten pemalang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bagaimana Upaya yang dilakukan oleh ketua paguyuban kuntul dan masyarakat dalam mempertahankan esistensi Tari kuntul.Selain itu, penelitian ini memaparkan sedikit syair , music, dan alat music. Temuan lain yaitu Eksistensi Tari kuntulan sebagai tari dari daerah jawa tengah dan jawa timur di desa karangsari sering dipertunjukan dalam acara-acara penting seperti perayaan hari besar nasional.

Abstract

Kasembon Village is one of the villages in Malang Regency which consists of Krajan I, Krajan II, Sukorejo, Meduran and Kaligoro hamlets. In Kasembon Village there is a plywood factory, namely PT Wijaya Cahaya Timber. From this description, the activities carried out by residents and production from factories will give rise to the potential for both organic and inorganic waste as well as plywood waste in quite large quantities. However, the rubbish and waste are only piled up in the yard and then burned, so it is feared that this could cause air pollution. To overcome this problem, Waste Bank outreach and waste and plywood waste processing skills training were held. The target of this activity is PKK women who are expected to be able to support the family economy by creating a creative industry from the use of waste banks in the future. This activity consists of socialization and discussion, demonstrations, and evaluation of activities by completing a posttest. Overall, this activity can be said to be successful with a participant satisfaction level of 60% and 36.7% very satisfied. Apart from that, 50% of the material presented was interesting and 43.3% was very interesting, thus providing usefulness with percentages of 56.7% and 43.3% being very useful. With this, if there were similar activities, the people of Kasembon Village would be willing to attend again with 53.3% willing and 43.3% very willing. Because apart from having a short-term impact, it turns out to have a long-term impact with 63.3% being able to be continued and 33.3% being able to continue after this activity is completed. The committee on duty was also greeted warmly because they showed a good attitude as much as 56.7% and very good 43.3%.

Abstract

Menurut World Health Organization (WHO) diare adalah penyakit kedua yang menyebabkan kematian pada anak-anak setelah pneumonia, terutama pada negara – negara berkembang. Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara berkembang yang memiliki masalah penyakit menular. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berbentuk edukasi kesehatan yang bertujuan untuk memberi pengetahuan kepada anak usia sekolah dasar tentang pencegahan penyakit diare. Hasil ini kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pengatahuan anak sekolah dasar tentang pencegahan diare sebelum pelaksanaaan vidio edukasi atau penyuluhan singkat tergolong rendah yaitu dengan skor 54,0 dan setelah pemberian vidio edukasi dan penyuluhan singkat rata – rata pengetahuan tresponden menjadi baik yaitu dengan skor 79,33. Hasil uji statistik dengan uji Wilcoxan menunjukkan bahwa nilai p=0,000< α =0,05. Dengan demikian dapat dikatatakan bahwa pemberian vidio edukasi dan penyuluhan singkat berpengaruh terhadap tingkat pengatahuan siswa tentang pencegahan diare. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat dikatakan berhasil.

Abstract

Assessment of student learning outcomes can help improve higher order thinking skills (HOTS), because higher order thinking encourages students to think broadly and deeply about subject matter. Based on the results of the international study, the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), Indonesian students' achievements in reading literacy, mathematical literacy and scientific literacy are very low. In general, Indonesian students' abilities are very low in: (1) understanding complex information; (2) theory, analysis and problem solving; (3) use of tools, procedures and problem solving; and (4) conducting investigations. Based on the facts above, it is necessary to change the system in learning and assessment. Assessments developed by teachers are expected to encourage increased high-level thinking abilities, increase creativity, and build students' independence to solve problems. Therefore, a team of lecturers from HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University carried out community service activities through socialization on the preparation of questions based on Higher Order Thinking Skills for SMP/SMK Swasta Nusantara Tanah Jawa. The implementation of this HOTS-based question item preparation socialization activity was carried out using lecture and simulation methods. This activity is carried out by providing training and assistance in preparing HOTS-based questions in accordance with the question writing guidelines. The results obtained after this activity was carried out were that 89% of the teachers at SMP/SMK Swasta Nusantara Tanah Jawa had understood the concept and were able to prepare HOTS questions for all available subjects. Thus, it can be concluded that the socialization activity for preparing HOTS-based questions went smoothly and effectively.
