Abstract

Objective: The World Health Organization (WHO) started a program in 2007 to promote Interprofessional Education (IPE) and its benefits for collaborative practice. Many IPE reviews have examined what has been done and how effective it is. This review aimed to investigate the methods and outcomes of IPE research. Methods: IPE research examined the following: 1) disciplines involved; 2) writing patterns, 3) assessment focus, and 4) dissemination trends. Abstracts were screened prior to full-text screening, review, data extraction, analysis and audit. Categorical data were reported with frequencies and percentages while continuous data were reported with means and standard deviations. Chi-square analysis was used to test for differences between groups for categorical variables. Results: Of the 359 articles that met the criteria, most were written by authors from medical, nursing, and pharmacy schools, using quantitative or mixed techniques. Most studies involved student disciplines with no authors from those disciplines. Most studies also measured student perceptions and knowledge, with a few measuring faculty perceptions. Research was mostly conducted in classrooms, simulations, and field experiences. IPE research was published in 98 journals, most of which were interdisciplinary journals, with the largest increase in publications in the last year of the review. Conclusions: The field of IPE research has grown significantly in the last decade. It is important to explore different ways to conduct IPE research, plan ways to disseminate IPE results, and ensure that all disciplines of students involved in IPE are represented in authorship.

Abstract

Introduction: Non-hemorrhagic stroke is a brain disorder caused by the cessation or blockage of blood flow to the brain. Aphasia is a disorder in language function that arises from brain injury. Speech therapy is a rehabilitation process for people with communication disorders, so that they can interact more effectively. The use of the AIUEO method in therapy can help improve pronunciation, so that it is more easily understood by others by moving the tongue, lips, and facial muscles. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of speech therapy on the level of aphasia in patients who have non-hemorrhagic stroke in the Seruni Room of RSUD Hajjah Andi Depu. Method: This research design is quantitative with a pre-experimental approach. The method used is one group pretest-posttest design. Results: The results of statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test with the help of SPSS showed a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.004. This means (p<0.05), so that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Thus, there is a positive effect of speech therapy on the level of aphasia in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients in the Seruni Room of RSUD Hajjah Andi Depu. Conclusion: A 2024 study at Hajjah Andi Depu Hospital found that speech therapy significantly improved aphasia in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. Patients' aphasia scores significantly improved after speech therapy (p < 0.05).

Abstract

Introduction: Elderly people with hypertension are at risk of experiencing anxiety due to chronic disease conditions, physical dependence, and psychosocial changes. Al-Qur'an murottal therapy is a potential spiritual approach to reduce anxiety. Family involvement in implementing this therapy at home is an approach that has not been widely explored in the context of religious communities. Objective: This study aims to determine the role of families in providing Al-Qur'an murottal therapy to reduce anxiety in elderly people with hypertension. Method: This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design involving five families in Karang Tengah Hamlet, Balokang Village, Banjar City. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and measurement of anxiety levels using the Geriatric Anxiety Scale (GAS) before and after therapy. The murottal therapy intervention was carried out by the family for seven consecutive days. Qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques, while quantitative data were analyzed descriptively-comparatively. Results: All respondents experienced a decrease in anxiety scores after the intervention, with a score difference between 13 and 30 points. GAS scores showed a decrease from moderate to mild or minimal anxiety categories. Family involvement in guiding and playing murottal consistently strengthens the relaxation effect, sense of security, and emotional support for the elderly and family spiritually, increases the elderly's mental peace, and strengthens affective relationships within the family. Conclusion: Providing murottal Al-Qur'an therapy by families on a regular basis has been proven effective in reducing anxiety levels in elderly people with hypertension. This approach is relevant to be implemented as a community nursing intervention based on spirituality and local culture, especially in religious communities.
