Abstract

Community-level management of acute malnutrition continues to face challenges due to slow and fragmented manual reporting systems, resulting in delayed interventions after children’s conditions deteriorate. This community service-based study aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a real-time monitoring dashboard in accelerating reporting and response to severe malnutrition cases. A quasi-experimental pre–post design with a cluster control group was employed using a mixed-methods approach. The study involved 200 children under five years old, community health volunteers, and health workers. Data were collected from anthropometric records, dashboard log data, perception surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions. The results indicate that implementing the real-time dashboard significantly reduced reporting time from an average of 14 hours to 3 minutes, accelerated health worker response time to less than 1 hour, and decreased case management delays from 62% to 18% (p < 0.001). In addition, the completeness of recorded anthropometric data improved consistently. This study demonstrates that integrating a real-time dashboard into community-based service workflows substantially enhances the responsiveness, accuracy, and flexibility of nutrition reporting systems, supporting the broader adoption of digital real-time solutions to strengthen severe malnutrition management at the grassroots level.

Abstract

The digital economy requires small businesses to adopt more measurable pricing practices, yet many still rely on intuition, limiting margins and market adaptability. This community service program evaluates the effectiveness of data-based pricing mentoring in strengthening analytical capability and enhancing the internal competitiveness of small enterprises. A quantitative applied approach was implemented within a structured mentoring framework involving 20 small businesses that participated in training and recorded sales data for 14 days. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and transaction records, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired sample t-tests. The results show significant improvements in cost awareness, demand pattern analysis, and pricing decisions, with average margins increasing from 18.2% to 26.7%. Participants began adjusting prices more consistently based on data.  Margin growth and price stability are treated as proxies for internal competitiveness rather than for comprehensive market competitiveness. The program developed a simple, replicable mentoring model suitable for local economic empowerment initiatives.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited effectiveness of public education programs that are predominantly one-way and insufficiently involve communities in the design of visual messages. As a result, messages are often less contextual and harder to understand. This research aims to analyze the role of participatory visual communication in enhancing community engagement and understanding in public education programs. A descriptive qualitative approach using Participatory Action Research (PAR) was employed, involving 20 participants through observation, focus group discussions, visual design workshops, interviews, and documentation. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify patterns of participation and changes in understanding. The findings reveal five main forms of participation, with the highest engagement occurring during the media review stage. All indicators of message comprehension, discussion engagement, design contribution, and message application showed consistent descriptive increases ranging from 40% to 55%, based on proportional changes before and after the intervention, without inferential statistical testing. The novelty lies in integrating collaborative visual creativity with active community participation. Practically, this approach produces more relevant, inclusive, and applicable educational messages for community service programs.

Abstract

This community service program was motivated by low financial literacy and suboptimal use of digital promotion among culinary MSME actors, resulting in poorly managed cash flow and limited business growth. This topic was selected because strengthening managerial and marketing capacities is essential to improving MSME competitiveness amid increasingly competitive market conditions. The program was implemented through a participatory-applicative approach in the form of simple financial bookkeeping training, cost control assistance, and optimization of social media-based digital promotion. Evaluation was conducted by comparing conditions before and after the program, both in terms of financial literacy understanding and business performance. The results indicated an increase in financial literacy comprehension and an average revenue growth of 12% within one month after the training. In addition, the business owner began applying data-based decision-making and more structured purchasing planning. These findings confirm that contextual training based on partners' real needs is effective in strengthening business capacity and supporting the sustainable economic development of MSMEs.
