Abstract

Electrical energy is essential for modern life, with demand increasing every year. Therefore, the development of electric power systems, including energy supply, transmission, and distribution, needs to be well planned. Transformers in substations play a vital role in converting high voltage of 150 kV to medium voltage of 20 kV to be distributed to customers. However, transformers that experience overloading can cause problems. According to the Directors' Circular Letter Number 0017.E/DIR/2014, the ideal transformer loading should be between 60% and 80%. Therefore, it is important to keep the transformer operating within safe limits to prevent disruption or damage to the electricity distribution system. One step to prevent transformer damage is to forecast peak loads in the future. There are many load forecasting methods that can be used. In this study, load forecasting was carried out using the simple linear regression method and the trend decomposition method. After the load forecasting is carried out, the accuracy of each method will be compared by calculating the MAPE value.

Abstract

Land capability encompasses soil characteristics, topography, drainage, and environmental factors that support activities in a given area. Improper land use without conservation efforts can accelerate erosion and reduce productivity. Padang City is classified as a disaster-prone area due to its coastal location, low-lying land, high rainfall, and numerous rivers. Population growth increases the demand for built-up areas and water absorption land. This study analyzes land capability classifications in Padang City using a Geographic Information System (GIS) with a descriptive quantitative approach. The results indicate four land capability categories: very high, relatively high, moderate, and low. The majority of the area (45.88% or 31,843.30 ha) falls into the moderate category, allowing development with proper management. Areas with very high (22.79% or 15,816.54 ha) and relatively high (19.32% or 13,409.84 ha) capability are generally found in stable lowland areas, making them suitable for urban activities. Meanwhile, low-capability areas (12% or 8,328.52 ha) are located in steep hilly regions that require special management attention.

Abstract

Urban Heat Island (UHI) is a climatological phenomenon where urban areas exhibit higher temperatures than their surrounding region due to land use changes and increased built-up areas. Medan, as the third-largest metropolitan city in Indonesia, has experienced rapid population growth, leading to land-use changes and rising surface temperatures. This study aims to map the spatial distribution of UHI in Medan based on Land Surface Temperature (LST) using the Mono Window algorithm on Landsat imagery through Google Earth Engine (GEE) from 2014 to 2023. The results indicate a significant increase in UHI intensity, particularly in highly urbanized areas. Although UHI intensity temporarily decreased in 2017 due to the La Niña phenomenon and haze from forest fires in Sumatra, the overall intensity continued to rise, especially after 2020. In terms of spatial coverage, the Non-UHI area decreased by 630.13 ha, while low, medium, and high-intensity UHI areas increased by 167.41 ha, 437.23 ha, and 26.46 ha, respectively.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of price and product quality on purchasing decisions at PT. Wahana Wirawan Indomobil Plaza Aceh. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire. The method used is the associative method which aims to determine the magnitude of the influence of the independent variables (price and product quality) on the dependent variable (purchase decisions) partially and simultaneously. Determination of the sample using the census technique. The sample used in this study amounted to 98 consumers of PT. Wahana Wirawan Indomobil Plaza Aceh and were willing to be respondents. The results of the study indicate that price partially influences the purchasing decision of PT. Wahana Wirawan Indomobil Plaza Aceh and product quality partially influences the purchasing decision of PT. Wahana Wirawan Indomobil Plaza Aceh.

Abstract

Exhaust gas produced by motor vehicles contains several types of emissions, such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), oxides of nitrogen (NOx), dust particles including lead (Pb), oxides of sulfur (SOx), and carbon dioxide (CO2). The content of the exhaust gas consists of about 30% carbon dioxide, 27% carbon monoxide, 25% hydrocarbons, 10% oxides of nitrogen, 9% oxides of sulfur, and 8% dust particles. Of the various types of polluting gases, carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), and hydrocarbons (HC) account for the highest percentage of harmful gases. Excessive concentrations of CO2 in the air can trigger the greenhouse effect, which contributes to an increase in atmospheric temperature and causes global warming. Carbon dioxide (CO2) in high concentrations can cause respiratory distress, although at levels below 1.5% by volume it is not considered harmful. Therefore, methods are needed to reduce air pollution, particularly that caused by CO2.

Abstract

The rise in water levels of the Batang Tarusan River in Nagari Duku during the flood event from March 4 to March 7, 2024, was identified, and modeling and visualization of floodwater level increases were developed using HEC-RAS and ArcScene software. The modeling was conducted using both one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) approaches. The analysis results indicate that the highest recorded water level elevation reached approximately 12 meters, with an average water level of 4.45 meters. The 1D modeling demonstrated a water level rise ranging between 7 and 8 meters at each cross-section, while the 2D modeling resulted in a water depth of up to 9.65 meters, with an average Water Surface Elevation (WSE) of 12 meters. The 3D visualization, utilizing Digital Terrain Model (DTM) data, which was integrated with the Animation Manager to simulate the rise in water levels from 4.45 meters to 12.45 meters in increments of 15 cm every 30 seconds.

Abstract

The RPL assessment process at Kampar Polytechnic is still done manually, so the data received by related parties is not well organised and difficult to store efficiently. This condition causes a lack of time efficiency and decreased work productivity. To overcome these problems, the solution offered is the development of a website-based information system. This system aims to simplify data collection, management, storage, and distribution, so as to produce more structured information and support online decision making. This research uses the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method with the Laravel framework in system development. The results showed that the past learning recognition information system has been well integrated. Based on the results of black box testing, the system achieved 100% success rate, which indicates that this system is capable and can improve the smoothness of the assessment process in RPL.

Abstract

This study analyzes the financial performance of tobacco companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2019-2023 period using financial ratio analysis. The ratios used include liquidity, solvency, activity, and profitability. The results showed that the liquidity ratio decreased, with the Current Ratio falling to 63.94% in 2023, indicating potential difficulties in meeting short-term obligations. In contrast, the solvency ratio improved, marked by a decrease in the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) from 80.50% in 2020 to 40.82% in 2023, indicating lower dependence on debt. Activity ratios also showed improved efficiency, with total asset turnover rising to 54% in 2023. In terms of profitability, Return on Assets (ROA) increased to 4.81% and Net Profit Margin (NPM) reached 8.87%, indicating better financial management. Overall, the company experienced fluctuations in financial performance, with challenges on liquidity but improvements on solvency, activity, and profitability. These findings can be taken into consideration for investors and management in financial decision-making.

Abstract

Transportation infrastructure is essential for economic development and social activities. In areas like the Koto Tangah Batu Hampa–Barulak road in Akabiluru District, severe road damage hampers accessibility. Traditional manual inspections for assessing pavement damage are time-consuming and inefficient. This study utilizes Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to observe the distribution and classification of road surface damage through aerial imagery.A descriptive quantitative method was applied by comparing direct field measurements with UAV-captured photos. The process included aerial image acquisition, field validation, and spatial analysis using on-screen digitization. The study identified 55 damage points along a 350-meter road segment, with a total road surface of 2,087.61 m² and damaged area of 578.94 m². Four types of damage were detected: Edge Cracks, Potholes, Alligator Cracks, and Patches. The results confirm that UAV-based photogrammetry offers a fast, accurate, and efficient approach to monitoring road conditions. This method provides valuable data for infrastructure planning and maintenance, especially in remote or large-scale areas.
