Abstract

Kampar Polytechnic is a vocational education institution specializing in the oil palm plantation sector. Currently, the administrative system at the institution still relies on manual signatures in the document approval process. This traditional approach is time-consuming, requires additional manpower, and carries a risk of signature forgery, which can affect the authenticity and security of important documents. In response to these issues, this research aims to develop a web-based digital signature application utilizing QR Code technology using the Laravel framework. This application is designed to streamline the document signing process, enhancing both efficiency and security. By integrating QR Codes as digital signatures, the system allows for easy document verification, ensuring the authenticity and integrity of signed documents. The development of the system employs the Unified Modeling Language (UML) method, which is used to structure and visualize the system’s architecture and workflow. The application will enable the generation of digital signatures in the form of QR Codes, which can be easily scanned and verified using a mobile device or other compatible technology.

Abstract

ChatGPT said: The processes of irrigation and fertilization in agriculture are time-consuming and physically demanding, as farmers typically irrigate twice daily and fertilize every three to four days. These repetitive tasks can lead to fatigue and reduced efficiency. To address this, we have developed an automated system for irrigation and fertilization that enables farmers to manage these activities remotely via smartphone. The system utilizes a microcontroller programmed based on specific agricultural needs and connected to the internet through Wi-Fi. This connectivity allows farmers to activate irrigation or fertilization with a single tap on their smartphones, anytime and from anywhere. The system aims to increase efficiency, reduce labor, and provide a more cost-effective and precise method of managing agricultural land. By automating routine tasks, farmers can better allocate their time and energy while ensuring optimal crop growth. The final outcome of this research is expected to be applicable directly in the field, allowing for real-world testing and refinement. Furthermore, the findings will be shared through a scientific publication to support knowledge.

Abstract

Red palm oil is rich in carotene, particularly beta-carotene, which is a provitamin A, making it an excellent supplement for boosting immunity. However, carotene is highly sensitive to heat and oxidation, which can reduce its efficacy. To protect carotene levels, encapsulation technology is employed, which shields the active ingredients in red palm oil, preserving product stability and prolonging shelf life. This study aimed to investigate the encapsulation process of red palm oil, the impact of drying temperature on the quality of the encapsulated product, and the characteristics of the resulting encapsulates. The research involved raw material preparation, encapsulation, and characterization of the encapsulated red palm oil. The drying temperatures tested were 40°C, 50°C, and 60°C. The findings revealed that drying temperature significantly influenced the quality of the red palm oil encapsulates. The best encapsulate characteristics were obtained at 40°C, with the highest carotene content of 233.09 ppm and solubility of 55.57%.

Abstract

The rejuvenation of smallholder oil palm plantations often encounters various challenges, including the absence of farmer institutions, loss of income from oil palm plantations, the high costs of plantation rejuvenation, and the burden of living expenses during the rejuvenation process. This study aims to analyze the financial and economic costs and benefits of smallholder oil palm plantation rejuvenation. A survey method was employed, with the research conducted in Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. The sample was selected using proportional random sampling, with a total of 79 farmers as respondents. The data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis through the Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) approach. The findings indicate that both financial and economic aspects demonstrate that oil palm plantation rejuvenation following Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) is feasible. The financial investment criteria values are higher than the economic feasibility values, implying an improvement in farmers' welfare through plantation development.

Abstract

Sangir Balai Janggo District has many productive oil palm plantations, making it an ideal location for research related to oil palm plant health. Oil palm is a major commodity in Indonesian plantations, so mapping its health is crucial for sustainable agricultural management. This study aims to analyze the health of oil palm plants using the integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing with the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) method based on Sentinel-2A imagery. The results of the study show that the health of oil palm plants in Sangir Balai Janggo District is divided into four categories: very healthy (26,967.40 Ha; NDVI 0.66-0.87), fairly healthy (3,228.31 Ha; NDVI 0.33-0.66), unhealthy (547.75 Ha; NDVI 0-0.33), and dead (10.53 Ha; NDVI -0.33 - 0). The total area of oil palm plantations reaches 30,753.62 Ha. This study demonstrates that the integration of GIS and remote sensing is highly effective in accurately and efficiently mapping the health condition of oil palm plantations.

Abstract

Urban growth, both physical and non-physical, continues to increase, particularly in non-agricultural sectors such as settlements. Between 2000 and 2020, Jambi City experienced rapid and dense urban growth (Nugroho et al., 2022). Development must be carried out in accordance with the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) as stipulated in the Spatial Planning Law. This study aims to evaluate the current land use in Jambi City in 2024 to determine whether it aligns with the Jambi City RTRW for the period of 2013-2033. The method used in this research is overlay analysis, which involves combining attributes from the land use map and the spatial planning map of the RTRW. The results indicate that land use in Jambi City is predominantly residential (6,144.76 ha), followed by fields/cultivated land (5,468.64 ha), and shrubland (1,455.97 ha). The spatial utilization compatibility rate reaches 89.11%, demonstrating that the land use in Jambi City is in accordance with the established RTRW.

This study seeks to investigate and analyze how organizational culture affects teacher performance, with job satisfaction acting as a mediating variable at SMK SMTI Banda Aceh. The research involved a sample of 55 teachers from the institution who willingly participated as respondents. Data was gathered using a questionnaire designed for this purpose.

Abstract

The majority of Indonesians work as farmers, and oil palm plantations have become one of the key pillars in Indonesia's economy. This commodity contributes significantly to the country's foreign exchange, employment opportunities, and economic growth across various regions, particularly in Sumatra. Dharmasraya Regency, located in West Sumatra, is one of the areas with a substantial area of oil palm plantations. Therefore, it is essential to conduct a detailed land suitability mapping to ensure that the development is carried out sustainably and does not harm the environment. In this study, the overlay method was applied, considering several parameters such as slope, surface temperature, rainfall, soil texture, and elevation. The results of this study produced a land suitability map for oil palm plantations, which indicates the suitability levels of the land. (S1) Highly Suitable with an area of 57,107.17 ha, (S2) Suitable with an area of 53,217.43 ha, (S3) Less Suitable with an area of 167,281.13 ha, and (N) Not Suitable with an area of 25,211.35 ha.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and workload on employee performance at PT. Pangan Makmur Saleh Famili in Aceh Besar Regency. Data was collected using questionnaires, and an associative method was employed to assess the impact of the independent variables (OHS and workload) on the dependent variable (employee performance), both individually and collectively. A census sampling technique was utilized, resulting in a sample of 40 employees from PT. Pangan Makmur Saleh Famili who agreed to participate as respondents. The findings indicate that, individually, both Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and workload significantly affect employee performance at PT. Pangan Makmur Saleh Famili.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of acceptance and lifestyle on the financial behavior of UKIP students. The research employs a quantitative approach with regression analysis. The findings indicate that acceptance does not significantly influence students' financial behavior. In other words, income level does not directly determine how students manage their finances. Other factors, such as financial literacy and money management habits, may have a more substantial role in shaping financial behavior. Therefore, financial education and proper financial planning are essential. On the other hand, lifestyle has a positive and significant effect on students' financial behavior. The better the lifestyle adopted, the more effectively students manage their expenses and fulfill financial obligations. To maintain financial well-being, students should cultivate a responsible financial lifestyle by minimizing unnecessary expenditures, creating realistic budgets, and enhancing awareness of the importance of savings and investments for the future.
