Abstract

The Belimau bath is a significant cultural custom observed among the Malay community, specifically in the four Belui villages, which will be discussed in detail. This traditional practice has been passed down through generations, dating back to ancient times and the era of our ancestors. Typically performed during the month of Safar, the Belimau bath serves as a means of washing and purifying heirlooms found in the four Belui villages. The bath involves mixing regular water or bathing water with the juice of kaffir lime, key orange, and other ingredients. According to the village elders, the Belimau bath holds symbolic significance as it is believed to reject negative influences, promote self-purification, and foster mental well-being. On the other hand, the youth in the four Belui villages perceive the Belimau bath as a means to honor and uphold the cultural customs of their ancestors. Despite the passage of time, the young generation in these villages continues to practice the Belimau bath, not only to pay homage to their ancient traditions but also to experience its refreshing effects on the body.

Abstract

Incung script of Kerinci is evidence of the intellectual civilization of the Kerinci tribe in its time. This script served as a means of communication for the Kerinci tribe since the 13th century. The fusion of the script created valuable cultural manuscripts with profound local wisdom. As a cultural subsystem, the Incung script has become an inspiration for local artists, particularly batik artists, in designing batik patterns, both through the cap (stamp) and tulis (hand-drawn) techniques. The Incung script is a writing system used by the Kerinci community and serves as a distinctive feature of Kerinci batik, aimed at identifying the identity of Kerinci batik. This research adopts a qualitative method with narrative data, discussing the information found in the field, focusing on aesthetic aspects. Data collection was conducted through literature review, observation, interviews, and data collection matrices. Kerinci batik consists of two types: Kerinci decorative batik and Incung batik, created using both hand-drawn and cap techniques. The primary motif of Kerinci batik combines the Incung script with Kerinci decorative elements, plant motifs, fauna, and sacred objects, which are all representative of Kerinci's identity.

Abstract

Education is an essential aspect for an individual, especially for a child. Islamic religious education, particularly during early childhood, is a specific and urgent concern addressed by the family environment. This is because in the current era of digitalization, parents are required to prepare their children to adapt and face the developments of the time. Moral challenges that can impact a child necessitate the teaching of Islamic religious education from an early age. The effectiveness of this education is carried out through the family environment. The implementation of Islamic religious education undoubtedly requires a well-conceptualized educational pattern and effective methods to support the child's education. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the patterns or concepts and relevant methods used for the education of children in the family environment. This qualitative research utilizes a literature review method to analyze research sources. Data is collected from various books, journals, and articles relevant to the research focus. The data is then presented in descriptive form and analyzed based on the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of this research reveal conceptual frameworks for implementing Islamic religious education in early childhood through various methods, including setting an example or role-modeling for children, using methods of rewarding or acknowledging their achievements, providing advice, instilling habits aligned with Islamic guidance, direct practice in daily life to familiarize children with doing good deeds, and communication methods involving dialogue with young children. The implementation of Islamic religious education using these methods will shape attitudes, behavior patterns, and morals capable of facing the challenges of the times.
