Abstract

This study aims to analyze the public's perception of the Surabaya City National Narcotics Agency's (BNNK) communication strategy on Instagram in disseminating drug prevention messages. Against the backdrop of social media's role as an interactive platform, this qualitative study uses a case study method with in-depth interviews with three informants as the main data. The data were analyzed using Stuart Hall's reception analysis theory, which found that the BNNK's communication strategy is effective, as evidenced by the majority of the audience being in a dominant-hegemonic position, receiving messages completely and being driven to perform social actions. However, the presence of a negotiated position in some audience members indicates factors influencing perception differences, such as the expectation for stronger interaction and community building. It is concluded that the effectiveness of BNNK's communication depends on its ability to adapt to become a community facilitator, not just a one-way message broadcaster.

Abstract

Matn criticism in the tradition of Hadith studies is commonly conducted through the assessment of linguistic aspects, rationality, and its relevance to the general principles of Islamic teachings. Such approaches are often interpretative in nature and have not yet formed a systematic analytical framework because they are not based on the entirety of available transmission data. This study aims to propose a methodological reconstruction of matn criticism by employing the analysis of variations in transmission as a new model for examining the validity of Hadith texts. The research is conducted through a literature review of classical and modern references, followed by methodological formulation through stages that include collecting transmission variants, mapping textual differences, examining the context of transmission, and drawing conclusions based on textual consistency. Through this approach, matn examination is carried out comparatively, enabling potential semantic anomalies to be identified more objectively through data comparison rather than solely through theoretical interpretation. The findings indicate that the analysis of transmission variations offers three significant contributions: first, reducing the dominance of subjectivity in matn criticism; second, assisting in the identification of narrations that have undergone textual modification or addition; and third, strengthening semantic evaluation through inter-textual evidence across narrations.

Abstract

The debate concerning the relationship between divine will and human freedom is a classic theme in Islamic thought that remains relevant to this day. On the one hand, Islam affirms the absoluteness of God’s will, as reflected in the concept of kun fayakun as a symbol of divine authority. On the other hand, the Qur’an also emphasizes human responsibility for actions and efforts through the principles of ikhtiar (human endeavor) and sunnatullah (divine laws). This study aims to critically examine the essence of God’s will and the position of human freedom from the perspective of Islamic thought, while positioning sunnatullah as a framework that bridges the two. This research employs a qualitative approach with a library research design, analyzing primary and secondary sources in the field of Islamic theology. The findings indicate that God’s will is absolute and unlimited, whereas human beings possess a limited yet accountable freedom. Sunnatullah functions as a divine law that enables humans to strive rationally without negating the supremacy of God’s will. Thus, the relationship between divine will and human freedom is complementary, in which human endeavor and divine decree mutually reinforce one another in shaping an ethical and meaningful life.

Abstract

Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and Religious Moderation are efforts to improve the quality of the learning process and outcomes of students in the digital era. This approach emphasizes the importance of higher-order thinking abilities—including analysis, evaluation, and creation—as well as the development of a balanced and tolerant religious attitude. Through a literature review, this study examines various academic references related to the implementation of HOTS and Religious Moderation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), including supportive learning models, challenges encountered, and strategies to address them. The results indicate that integrating HOTS and Religious Moderation can create more contextual, critical, and meaningful PAI learning. Students not only understand Islamic teachings theoretically but are also able to analyze religious phenomena deeply and apply them in daily life with a moderate attitude. Furthermore, this innovative learning approach is considered effective in fostering a generation that is critical of information, tolerant of differences, and capable of maintaining social harmony. Overall, the application of PAI learning based on HOTS and Religious Moderation makes a significant contribution to developing students’ intellectual, moral, and social intelligence. This learning model is not only relevant in the context of Islamic education but also strategic for building a peaceful, inclusive, and principled national character in line with the concept of rahmatan lil ‘alamin.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of student business capital in the development of Islamic entrepreneurship. Business capital is understood not only as financial capital but also includes non-financial capital such as knowledge, skills, social networks, and an understanding of Islamic values. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using a literature review method by examining various sources, including books, scientific journals, and relevant documents related to Islamic entrepreneurship and student business capital. The findings indicate that business capital plays a significant role in encouraging students’ motivation to start a business, determining the type and scale of enterprises, and supporting business sustainability and growth. From the perspective of Islamic entrepreneurship, capital obtained from halal sources and managed with trustworthiness contributes to business sustainability and social welfare. Furthermore, campus environmental support, access to Islamic financial institutions, and strong social capital strengthen the role of business capital in fostering Islamic entrepreneurship among students. This study is expected to serve as a reference for higher education institutions and policymakers in developing student entrepreneurship programs based on Islamic values.

Abstract

This research analyzes the interpretation of QS. Al-Muzzammil verse 20 and QS. Shad verses 23–24 as well as their istinbat (derivation of legal rulings) related to mudharabah and musyarakah contracts from the perspective of Islamic commercial jurisprudence (fiqh muamalah). The introduction highlights the importance of integrating Qur’anic exegesis studies with Islamic economic law. The method employed is a qualitative study based on the analysis of classical and contemporary tafsir, hadith studies, and ushul fiqh approaches in examining dalalah, qiyas, and maqashid sharia. The findings indicate that QS. Al-Muzzammil verse 20 implicitly legitimizes economic activities and serves as the basis for the permissibility of mudharabah through dalalah isyarah and the principle of facilitation. Meanwhile, QS. Shad verses 23–24 affirm the existence of partnership (syirkah) and warn against potential injustice within cooperation, thus forming an ethical and normative foundation for musyarakah through dalalah taqrir. This study concludes that both verses not only provide a strong sharia basis for mudharabah and musyarakah contracts but also outline the principles of justice, trustworthiness, and public interest (maslahah) as the core foundations of Islamic commercial dealings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the spirit of da’wah among Mosque Youth communities in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek), namely: Masjid Jami Al Ikhlas, Masjid Baiturrahman, Masjid Al-Makmur, Masjid Jami’ An-Nur, and Masjid Al-Jami’ah, using Herzberg’s Two-Factor Motivation Theory as the theoretical framework. The focus of this research is to understand the factors that influence youths’ enthusiasm for da’wah, both intrinsic factors (motivators) such as a sense of responsibility, recognition, and spiritual meaning, and extrinsic factors (hygiene) such as the organizational environment, peer support, and mosque facilities. This study employs a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and participatory observation of members of mosque youth communities in Jabodetabek, specifically at Masjid Jami Al Ikhlas, Masjid Baiturrahman, Masjid Al-Makmur, Masjid Jami’ An-Nur, and Masjid Al-Jami’ah. The findings indicate that the spirit of da’wah emerges when youths feel appreciated, have real roles in mosque activities, and receive positive social support. Conversely, a lack of support from the surrounding environment and inadequate da’wah facilities can reduce motivation. These findings confirm that the application of Herzberg’s Theory can help to understand and enhance the spirit of da’wah among Mosque Youth.
