Abstract

This study explores the adaptation of assistive technology (AT) in inclusive education, particularly in the context of teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL). It aims to examine how assistive tools are implemented in inclusive schools, the challenges experienced by educators, and the extent to which such technologies influence student learning outcomes. The research was conducted at SLB Negeri 08 Jakarta and SLB Negeri 11 Jakarta. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, utilizing interviews and documentation as the primary data collection techniques. Data analysis was supported by Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools to identify recurring patterns and thematic categories. The findings reveal that assistive technology plays a crucial role in facilitating communication, enhancing comprehension, and improving accessibility for students with special needs. SLB Negeri 08 predominantly used simple visual aids for learners with intellectual disabilities, whereas SLB Negeri 11 integrated digital tools such as Chromebooks and LCD projectors to support students with hearing impairments. Despite its benefits, several challenges were identified, including limited infrastructure, insufficient teacher training, and varying levels of digital literacy among educators. Nevertheless, the use of assistive technology significantly increases student engagement, builds confidence, and strengthens inclusive participation within the classroom. Overall, this study highlights that assistive technology functions not only as an instructional aid but also as a transformative mechanism that helps bridge educational gaps and promotes equity in inclusive learning environments.

Abstract

This study examines the profitability performance of Bank Syariah Indonesia during the post-merger period by analyzing the influence of capital strength, operational efficiency, and financing quality on the return generated from total assets. A quantitative approach is employed using secondary financial data obtained from official publications to evaluate the relationship among key internal banking indicators. The analysis reveals a consistent improvement in profitability that aligns with enhanced efficiency and stronger risk management practices. Operational efficiency demonstrates the strongest contribution to profitability, while financing quality also shows a substantial effect through its role in managing credit risk. Capital strength exhibits a positive yet relatively limited influence, suggesting that excess capital may not always translate into higher earning capacity. The findings highlight the importance of digital transformation, disciplined cost management, and prudent financing strategies in sustaining the financial performance of Islamic banks in a competitive environment.

Abstract

Ethnic and cultural diversity is a fundamental characteristic of the Indonesian nation, comprised of various tribes, regional languages, traditions, and local wisdom values. This study aims to analyze how this diversity functions as social capital in Indonesian national development. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study explores the role of social values such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong), tolerance, solidarity, and social cohesion, which are formed through interactions between ethnic and cultural groups. The results indicate that ethnic and cultural diversity in Indonesia is an important social capital in national development, as values such as mutual cooperation (gotong royong), deliberation (deliberation), tolerance, and solidarity strengthen social cohesion, build social networks, and encourage community participation. This diversity enables cross-group cooperation that supports social, economic, and governance development. However, its utilization faces several obstacles, including horizontal conflict, a lack of multicultural education, the influence of globalization and modernization, and socio-economic disparities between groups. Therefore, managing diversity through multicultural education, intercultural dialogue, revitalizing local values, and inclusive policies is key to transforming ethnic and cultural diversity into a strategic asset in strengthening solidarity, building national character, and promoting sustainable national development.

Abstract

The hospitality industry faces challenges in maintaining the accuracy of accounts payable payments due to the high volume of transactions and the complexity of financial procedures. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of internal control in improving the accuracy of accounts payable payments at The St. Regis Bali Resort. By using descriptive qualitative research methods through interviews, observations, and documentation, data was obtained from the accounts payable department and related departments. The results showed that although the hotel had implemented internal controls based on the COSO framework, there were still weaknesses in the form of lack of document verification, delayed payments, and weak separation of duties. This condition has an impact on the risk of recording errors and decreasing the reliability of financial statements. The study concluded that the internal control system was not fully effective in ensuring the accuracy of accounts payable payments. The implication is that management needs to strengthen the separation of functions, integrate financial information systems, and improve interdepartmental coordination to minimize the risk of errors and improve relationships with suppliers. The findings provide a practical contribution for hotel management in improving the financial system as well as adding to the academic literature related to internal control in the hospitality industry

Abstract

This researcher investigates the transformation and strategic role of jawara as traditional cultural figures who have transitioned into influential political actors within the regional power structure of Banten, Indonesia. Drawing on Michel Foucault’s theory of power relations, this research examines how jawara negotiate, construct, and sustain power through complex interactions between cultural authority, kinship networks, state institutions, and political dynamics. Employing a qualitative single instrumental case study approach, this study analyzes documentary data, academic literature, historical records, and media sources to uncover patterns of influence embedded in both formal and informal political spheres. Findings reveal that the power of jawara in Banten is institutionalized through several mechanisms: genealogical legitimacy rooted in aristocratic titles, the penetration of state elites into cultural organizations, the use of kinship-based networks for electoral mobilization, and the provision of state resources to reinforce dependency. These mechanisms demonstrate that the jawara’s authority transcends physical or martial strength, evolving into a sophisticated form of socio-political power embedded in historical narratives, cultural symbols, and governance practices. Consequently, the relationship between jawara and the state reflects a hybrid political order where traditional authority and modern bureaucracy intersect, reinforcing reciprocal legitimacy and reproducing local elite domination.

Abstract

The habit of Indonesians who love to engage in conversations about various topics from work, daily life, to personal updates has made coffee shops a favorite gathering place. This phenomenon is further supported by the comfortable atmosphere created by soothing background music, along with the implementation of work from anywhere policies by several companies. As a result, drinking coffee has now become part of a modern lifestyle. One place that has successfully embraced this trend is Kopi Bakar Bapak N’dut in Pandeglang. This coffee shop is quite popular among tourists for its distinctive, strong, and flavorful coffee that helps relieve fatigue after a long day. Unlike modern coffee shops that serve espresso, mocaccino, or Americano. The identified problems include the limited variety of food and beverage products offered by Kopi Bakar Bapak N’dut Pandeglang, as well as the slow service perceived by customers. The research method used in this study is a quantitative approach. This study aims to verify the issues stated in the problem formulation, namely to describe and analyze the influence of product diversification on customer satisfaction at Kopi Bakar Bapak N’dut Pandeglang. Kopi Bakar Bapak N’dut maintains its traditional authenticity by offering local coffee variants such as Cofielamure, Nampuyak Kopi, and Baliung Kopi. All of these beverages are prepared manually using traditional brewing techniques passed down through generations, giving customers an authentic and nostalgic coffee experience. This study focuses on three main research questions: (1) How is product diversification implemented at Kopi Bakar Bapak N’dut Pandeglang? (2) How satisfied are customers with the products offered? and (3) To what extent does product diversification influence customer satisfaction?. The results show that the average score for respondents’ responses regarding Product Diversification is 2.85, which falls under the good category. Meanwhile, the average score for Customer Satisfaction is 2.81, also classified as good. Based on statistical analysis, the correlation between the two variables reached 86.4%, indicating that product diversification significantly influences customer satisfaction at Kopi Bakar Bapak N’dut Pandeglang. Thus, it can be concluded that the more diverse and creative the products offered, the higher the level of customer satisfaction. The remaining 13.6% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study, such as price, service quality, location, or atmosphere. These findings suggest that Kopi Bakar Bapak N’dut’s strategy of preserving traditional flavors while diversifying its product offerings has proven effective in attracting and retaining customers amid the increasingly competitive coffee industry.

Abstract

The community service program, titled "Bay Leaf Tea Education for Gout Arthritis Therapy for Cadres in Klapagading Kulon Village, Wangon District, Banyumas Regency," addresses the significant health problem of gouty arthritis, particularly among the elderly. Gouty arthritis, characterized by severe joint pain, swelling, and redness, is often caused by high uric acid levels due to excessive purine consumption and a lack of public knowledge regarding its management. This problem is prevalent in Klapagading Kulon Village, where 52 elderly people suffer from gouty arthritis, and local cadres lack sufficient knowledge to effectively address it. The choice of this topic is crucial because bay leaves (Syzygium Polyanthum Wight) have known diuretic and analgesic properties, capable of lowering uric acid levels by increasing urine production. They also contain antioxidants and various beneficial compounds such as tannins and flavonoids. The program aims to increase cadres' knowledge about preparing bay leaf tea for gouty arthritis therapy and their interest in disseminating this information to the elderly. The methodology involved pre-testing, health education through lectures, discussions, and live demonstrations of bay leaf tea preparation, followed by post-testing. The results showed a substantial increase in cadre knowledge, with the average post-test score increasing to 95.5 from a baseline of 68.8, and all nine participating cadres achieving the 'good' category. This demonstrates the effectiveness of the educational methods used and the high enthusiasm of the cadres. The program successfully improved cadres' understanding and practical skills, highlighting the importance of utilizing local herbal remedies for non-pharmacological gout management. This enhanced knowledge empowered cadres to provide valuable health information to the elderly in their communities.

Abstract

Juvenile justice is a complex subject since it covers multiple interconnected topics, including law, justice, and the protection of children's rights. In Indonesia, the criminal justice system's approach to juvenile crimes has shifted from a focus on punishment for misconduct to one that prioritizes rehabilitation and reintegration into society. The purpose of this study is to examine the criminalisation of children in the juvenile criminal justice system, as outlined in Law No. 11 of 2012 on the Juvenile Criminal Justice System (SPPA Law), and to assess the extent to which the principle of human rights protection is applied. The methodology employed is normative legal analysis with a regulatory and conceptual focus. This study examines the applicable legal rules, the basic principles of child protection, and the theory of restorative justice that forms the basis of juvenile criminal justice. The results show that, in terms of regulations, the UU SPPA already provides protection for children through diversion mechanisms, restrictions on prison sentences, and the affirmation of children's rights in the judicial process. However, implementation in the field still faces several obstacles, such as a lack of understanding among legal officials, limited guidance facilities, and a lack of cooperation between institutions. This has resulted in the principle of human rights protection not being fully realised in the practice of juvenile punishment. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the application of restorative justice principles, enhance the capacity of juvenile justice institutions, and conduct continuous monitoring to ensure that the juvenile justice system is truly oriented towards the protection, rehabilitation, and fulfilment of children's rights in a comprehensive manner
