Sintaks: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia
Sintaks: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia is a peer-reviewed journal by Medan Resource Center. This journal accepts articles related to the Indonesian language; literature; language education; Classroom Action Research; literature review; learning material and media development; and learning assessment. The journal provides a means for teachers, any instructors of all levels of education, as well as students or practitioners who are interested in the area. The journal is published biannually in January and July and accepts articles in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe cohesion, especially lexical cohesion contained in a collection of songs created by Iwan Fals. The method used is descriptive method. The data sources used are the songs entitled “Office Rat”, “Ruble”, “Bachelor of Youth”, “Voice of the People's Representatives”, “Half-God Man”. The results of the lexical cohesion research in the collection of Iwan Fals songs are 38 repetition data, 11 collocation data, and 11 synonym data. In this case, repetition dominates the lexical cohesion contained in the collection of Iwan Fals songs. The use of lexical cohesion is to get cohesion through the choice of vocabulary, the intensity of the meaning of the language, and the beauty of the language. Thus, the discourse of the song will be more varied and create a discourse linkage and bind the relationship between elements in the sentence. Keywords: Discourse; Lexical Cohesion; Song]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed to develop teaching materials for modules and LKPD with Creative-Based Drama Script Learning Materials to increase the HOTS in class XI SMA. The respondents were some material experts and design experts as validators of module teaching materials and LKPD. The research method used 4-D Research and Development by Thiagarajan which consists of four stages, namely define, design, development, and desseminition. This study was limited to development stage due to the pandemic situation so it cannot be carried out for the dissemination stage (desseminition). The material experts response to the developed teaching materials and LKPD modules gave an average score with the overall material aspect as 88.66% or "very satisfactory"; which means the product is feasible and valid to be tested in small groups and large groups, thus the material can be a prototype module and LKPD. While the design experts gave 92.6% or “very satisfactory”; which means that the product is feasible and valid to be tested by small groups and large groups, and it can be concluded that the design can be a prototype for modules and worksheets.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the semiotic elements contained in the poems "The Meaning of a Custody" and "The Poor" by WS Rendra and to describe the semiotic meaning contained in the poems "The Meaning of a Custody" and "People Poor” by WS Rendra. Based on the semiotic analysis of the poem "The Meaning of a Custody" by W.S. Rendra, there are language styles such as Climax, Rhetoric, Association, Anticlimax, Personification and Irony. Based on the semiotic analysis of the poem "The Poor" by W.S. Rendra, there are language styles such as Rhetoric, Association, Anticlimax, Personification and Irony. Semiotics the poem "The Meaning of a Custody" tells about something that a person has is just a deposit or a gift from God, so it needs to be grateful and don't be arrogant, while the poem "The Poor" tells Rendra describing the condition of poor people who are very concerned.]]>

<![CDATA[One of the writing activities contained in learning Indonesian at SMK 2013 curriculum is writing procedure text. The selection of the problem based learning model in this study was based on the idea that the problem based learning model could stimulate students' enthusiasm to be actively involved in their learning experience. The problem-based learning model requires students to think, understand and find the steps that must be taken correctly in writing procedure texts. The results of the research that have been explained that between X1 and X2 obtained from the work of students writing procedural texts from class XI-1, totaling 35 students, obtained a satisfactory assessment or there was an influence that occurred in the learning process. In the learning process at the first meeting, students still used the lecture method with a total score of 2,354 while using the problem based learning model, the students got an overall score of 2,842, in this case there were differences in the process or results in learning to write students' explanatory texts. After getting the overall results, as explained in the description of the research results and hypothesis testing using the steps or formulas used and obtaining the overall value, n = 35 and = 0.05, then the t = 1.692 value is obtained. Because tcount > t table or 33.54 > 1.692 then Ho is rejected. These results provide an explanation that in using the problem based learning learning model there is an influence in the applied learning.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract. This study aims to describe the use of Indonesian Spelling (EBI) in scientific articles by STIE Sakti Alam Kerinci students. This study aims to describe errors in the use of EBI in scientific articles by students. The object of research is the analysis of errors in the use of EBI in student scientific articles. The data is taken from students' errors in the use of EBI. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research. Data were collected by observing, documenting, and writing the intralingual condalingual method. The results showed that scientific articles written by students still found several errors in the use of EBI such as errors in the use of capital letters, errors in the use of italics, errors in the use of words with affixes, errors in the use of abbreviations, and errors in the use of punctuation marks. <![CDATA[This study aims to develop teaching materials for writing experience-based negotiation texts for class X students 0f Kisaran Private Vocational School (SMK). This research is a research on the development of the Borg and Gall model (2003). The stages carried out include preliminary studies, drafting, expert and user assessments, and field tests. Assessments from experts and users indicate that the teaching materials for writing negotiation texts meet the eligibility criteria. The feasibility assessment focused on four components, namely content, language, presentation, and graphics with an average percentage of 88.5%. Effectiveness is based on the value of the results of field trials with reference to the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) for writing negotiation texts, which is 70. The value of the results of field trials reaches an average of 82.77 with classical school completeness. The achievement of the student's average score which is higher than the KKM value indicates that the teaching materials developed are effective so that they are suitable for use in the learning process of writing negotiation texts. <![CDATA[The presence of a child is a dream for every married couple. The presence of a child in the family is a complement to happiness. In welcoming this happiness, many traditional events are held in each region. In South Tapanuli, the welcome ceremony is an oral tradition that is usually carried out. This manyonggot-ngonggoti event is usually carried out by the family of the woman. Manyonggot-nyonggoti aims to provide prayers and strength for prospective mothers and their unborn babies. In this ritual, a lot of equipment is needed. Both from food and tools. All these ingredients are united in a medium called upa - upa. These food ingredients are arranged in such a way to be enjoyed by the mother-to-be and her baby-to-be. Upa - upa has the meaning of each symbol. These symbols of food ingredients have their own meaning to be given to the mother-to-be and her baby. Some symbols of food ingredients in this ceremony are eggs, goldfish, salt and many others. To find out the meaning of each symbol, a semiotic analysis was carried out. The data is taken from the results of interviews with several traditional leaders and literacy from several references.]]>

<![CDATA[Tingkeban is a culture that has been passed down from generation to generation and has become a habit, this tradition is passed down orally. Each ethnic group has its own traditions, including the Javanese, as the researcher discussed, namely the tingkeban tradition, this tradition is one of the Javanese ethnicities which discusses the seven-monthly thanksgiving process during pregnancy. The research method used is by interviewing a resident who usually leads the tingkeban tradition in the Unity Village of Asahan Regency. In this oral tradition, semiotic aspects or signs are found in every verbal and nonverbal aspect.]]>

<![CDATA[Seumapa rhymes is an oral tradition in Aceh whose contents are related to marital problems. In other words, this rhyme is a rhyme delivered by the linto baro and dara baro parties at the wedding procession. This pantun is still an Acehnese tradition, although the rules are not as strict as before. The rhyme is started by the singer from the side of the linto baro as a guest, namely greeting the dara baro as the host that the linto baro group has arrived. Furthermore, answered by the virgin baro. And so on until the linto baro is allowed to enter the arena of the wedding party or to the house to eat the next meal. This study aims to reveal in depth the contents of the "seumapa" pantun. To describe the rhyme, the author uses a descriptive qualitative method. In addition, this study also uses an objective approach because it focuses on literary texts.]]>
