Sintaks: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia is a peer-reviewed journal by Medan Resource Center. Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of a gap between the concept of Grice's cooperative principle and its application in the culture of the Riau people. The problem in this research is what is the reason for the violation of the maxim of manner in the culture of the Riau people? This study uses a qualitative approach with the grounded theory method. Informants in this study amounted to 79 informants who came from a number of districts in Riau and Riau Islands. The data analysis technique in this study consisted of three stages, namely: open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The conclusion of this research shows that cultural differences make Grice's principle of cooperation, especially the maxim of manner, not universally applicable to all languages. There are a number of reasons for violating the maxim of manner, namely reasons of politeness, confusion in giving answers, forgetting, nervousness, empathy, avoiding direct speech, secrets, substitute vocabulary, pleasantries, pleasantries, lying, habits, and upset/angry. Violation of Grice's cooperative principle is not a bad thing, in fact the violation occurs because of the cultural influence that exists in the language. The violation of Grice's maxim of cooperation in a language is a manifestation of the actual principle of cooperation in that language.

Abstract

The problems raised ini this study are (1) how is the ambiguity of the Sikka dialect of Sikka Krowe in the Tana Duen village community, Kangae sub-district, Sikka districth (2) what is the meaning of ambiguity in the Sikka Krowe dialect Sikka language in the Tana Duen village community, Kangae sub-district, Sikka district. As for the purpose of this research is qualitative research. Thr purpose of the approach is to describe of the data directly in the fielf. The theory used in this research is semantic theory. Based on the resullts of the researrch on the ambiguity of the Sikka dialect of Sikka Krowe language in the Tana Duen village community, Kangar District, Sikka regency, there are 3 ambiguities, namely ambiguity at the phonetic level, grammatical level, and lexical level.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menemukan dan mendeskripsikan ansietas tokoh dalam novel Cermin Buram Rambu Tentang Gerhana Kehidupan Karya Dony Kleden. Adapun yang digunakan ialah pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Penggunaan pendekatan ini didasarkan pada pertimbangan bahwa data yang diperoleh berupa kata-kata dalam bentuk kalimat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode kepustakaan, dan dilengkapi dengan teknik teknik baca, garis bawah, dan catat kata-kata. Teori yang digunakan adalah Teori Psikologi Sastra Sigmund Freud dalam Dinamika Kepribadian. Hasil tulisan membuktikan bahwa Novel Cermin Buram Rambu Tentang Gerhana Kehidupan Karya Dony Kleden terdapat ansietas realitas tokoh yaitu ansietas realitas terdapat ansietas realitas khawatir, takut, tidak nyaman, tidak nikmat, ketakutan, dan kegelisahan. Kata Kunci: Ansietas Realitas, Tokoh dan Novel. Abstract: This paper aims to find and describe the anxiety of the characters in the novel Mirror Blur Rambu About the Eclipse of Life by Dony Kleden. As for what is used is a qualitative descriptive approach. The use of this approach is based on the consideration that the data obtained are in the form of words in the form of sentences. The method used in this research in the library method, and is equipped with reading, underlining, and note-taking techniques. The theory used is Sigmund Freud Theory of Psycological Literature in Personality Dynamics. The results of the paper prove that the novel Mirror Blur Rambu About the Eclipse of Life by Dony Kleden contains anxiety about the reality of the characters, namely reality anxiety, there is reality anxiety of worry, fear, discomfort, and anxiety. Abstract

This final project uses the grammar of the halliday functional because sequentially this text is studied in terms of the language the text functions, and the way the function relates to the context; which includes the context of the situation and the cultural context. This final project aims to present the context of the situation and the cultural context contained in the sonnet. This final project aims to describe the metafunction meaning contained in the sonnet, to describe the context of the situation reflected in the metafunction analysis, and finally to describe the cultural context. Data sources include words, phrases, sentences, and events in the sonnet. the following is the data collected. Read the text carefully and repeatedly, identify data related to the topic, classify the data into two groups, namely the meaning of metafunction, and the context of the situation and cultural context. The data were analyzed by determining the ideational, interpersonal and textual meanings, then this context as classified in the previous steps. Based on the analysis that has been studied, the context of the situation contained in the metafunction analysis shows: the field is a love poem with social activities that tells about a friend; the tenor is a connoisseur of love, a fan of its light, and on a metaphorical level, man to God; The mode is not a verbal-visual channel, it is text written to be said aloud with one-sided dialogue and an invisible recipient. In this cultural context, the aim is to express admiration, the structure begins with comparison, explanation and contradiction in the middle, and ends with affirmation, and the structure of the sonnet has linguistic characteristics indicating that the genre of this text is literary; poetry in sonnet form.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the editorial of “Citayam Fashion Week Young People, Local Pride Ambassadors as seen from the critical discourse theory of Teun A.Van Dijk in newspapers. The method used is descriptive method. The results obtained in this study are that there are 3 macro structures, namely 1 delection, 1 selection, 1 integration or construction. The title also has 2 superstructures consisting of titles, leads and story schemes consisting of situations and comments. The results of this study also have a micro structure (semantics) which consists of the background. details, intentions, and presuppositions. Microstructure II (syntax) consists of active and passive sentences, the use of distinguishing and contrasting coherence, and third person plural pronouns. Microstructure III (stylistic) consists of foreign language vocabulary that is currently widely used, microstructure IV (rhetorical) in this heading consists of graphics, metaphors, and expressions. This research is expected to be a reference for future researchers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe in depth the acquisition of the Palembang Malay language, especiallythe morphosyntactic acquisition of children aged two years and eight months. Data analysis technique used in this study was the agih and matching method. The agih method was used to describe the morphosyntactic elements produced by the research participants. Furthermore, the equivalent method is used to analyze things that are out of the language focus. Therefore, the most suitable technique to use was the referential sorting technique. Thistechnique was used to see the relationship between the acquisition of Palembang Malay morphosyntax with the use of language at home, community, and school environment. The results showed that the acquisition of Palembang Malay morphosyntax in children aged two years and eight months developed very rapidly. Children are able to master and understand the meaning of the words and sentences they produce, even if those words were only in the form of simple sentences. Monomorphemic and polymorphemic forms have been used and mastered bychildren at the age of two years and eight months. Furthermore, children have acquired the syntax, interrogative, imperative and negative forms of language and have controlled them, although only simple sentences are producedby children.

Abstract

This thesis aims to analyze the forms of gender discrimination and how patriarchy can affect gender discrimination. This study aims to explain feminism, patriarchy, and gender discrimination experienced by female characters in the novel which is the object of this research. This study uses feminism theory with a radical feminism approach proposed by Alison Jaggar and uses patriarchy from Sylvia Walby as a supporting theory. In this study, feminism theory is used to explain and analyze gender discrimination forms. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. In this study, researchers found gender discrimination forms accepted by female figures and patriarchal oppression forms that could affect gender discrimination.

Abstract

This research is a field research using a qualitative approach. This study aims to analyze students' speaking ability in scientific presentations in Indonesian language courses. The population of this study is 20 pepople students of the Information Technology Education Study Program who programmed Indonesian Language courses. Data collection techniques were carried out using tapping techniques in the form of video recordings. Based on the results of the study, students' speaking skills were obtained in aspects of pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency and understanding, including: on the aspect of pronunciation with the majority of respondents (8 respondents - 40%) with a weight of 3; Grammar aspect with the majority of respondents (10 respondents - 50%) with a weight of 3; Aspects of Vocabulary with the majority of respondents (11 Respondents - 55%); Smooth Aspect with the majority of respondents (9 Respondents - 45%); and the understanding aspect with the majority of respondents (9 Respondents - 45%) Based on the average achievement of the five aspects, the speaking ability of students of the Information Technology Education Study Program STKIP Taman Siswa Bima in scientific presentation activities is at a good level or category.

Abstract

In the right learning method must be applied to maximize students' abilities during learning activities. This study aims to determine the improvement of learning achievement in English through the application of the card sort method. An action study (action research) was carried out on learning English material on Verb for 7th grade students of SMPN 2 Gempol, Gempol District, Pasuruan Regency, for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. Indicators The results showed that the percentage of mastery learning at the pre-cycle stage was 10.7%, in the first cycle it was 67.9%, and in the second cycle it reached 92.9%. The average score of student test results also experienced a significant increase, namely the pre-cycle stage was 58.8, the first cycle was 72.4, and in the second cycle it rose to 78.9. This means, through the application of card sort learning can improve student achievement in learning English Verb material.

Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia sebagai alat komunikasi, merupakan sarana untuk saling berhubungan, saling berbagi pengalaman, saling belajar dan meningkatkan kemampuan intelektual. Karena sangat penting penggunaan dan fungsinya, Bahasa Indonesia sudah diberikan di Sekolah Dasar sejak kelas I sampai dengan kelas VI. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan pengetahuan, ketrampilan berbahasa yang baik dan benar, bahasa lisan maupun bahasa tulis. Dalam penelitian ini penulis mengambil sasaran di SDN Baujeng 1 Kecamatan Beji, Kabupaten Pasuruan. Siswa Kelas I semester I sebanyak 16 orang sebagai subyek penelitian ini, dengan alasan bahwa siswa Kelas I diharapkan dapat menulis dan membuat karangan dengan baik. Dengan memperhatikan rangkuman hasil tes mengarang bahasa Indonesia tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pada tes awal sebelum dilakukan tindakan kelas dengan menggunakan metode pemberian tugas menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 53.75. Nilai 53.75 merupakan nilai yang belum memenuhi standar kemampuan. Dengan kata lain bahwa siswa masih belum mempunyai kemampuan menulis Bahasa Indonesia dengan baik. Tetapi setelah dilakukan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan metode pemberian tugas; guru dan siswa melakukan rencana pembelajaran siklus berdaur yaitu siklus I, siklus II dan siklus III ternyata kemampuan menulis Bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas I SDN Baujeng 1 Kecamatan Beji, Kabupaten Pasuruan mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan.Pada pembelajaran siklus I nilai rata-rata naik menjadi 63.4 pada siklus II naik menjadi 72.5 dan pada siklus III naik menjadi 80.3. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan pembelajaran siklus berdaur dan penambahan pengetahuan baru menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis karangan Bahasa Indonesia.
