Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate audio-visual learning media for enhancing poetry writing skills using the Think-Talk-Write (TTW) strategy for grade X students. The research follows the Research and Development (R&D) method, utilizing the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) developed by Thiagarajan. Data were collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale for quantitative analysis, while qualitative data were obtained from expert evaluations, comments, and suggestions. The study involved four validators—two material experts and two media/design experts—to assess the feasibility of the developed media. The research was limited to the development stage, where material validators assigned an average validity score of 76%, categorized as "very feasible", while media/design validators provided an overall score of 72%, classified as "feasible". These findings confirm that the audio-visual learning media for poetry writing skills is valid, practical, and effective for use in school learning environments, making it a potential tool to enhance student engagement and creativity in poetry writing. Future research should explore the implementation stage and assess its impact on students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate the feasibility of interactive multimedia learning media using the Powtoon application for novel material in Class XII at SMAN 1 Panai Hilir. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach, with data collected through questionnaires. Respondents included material experts, media experts, and Class XII students. The research followed the ADDIE development model by Robert Maribe Branch (2009), which consists of five interrelated stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Product validation was conducted by four experts—two material experts and two media experts. The validation results indicated that material expert I rated the product at 76.8% (categorized as feasible), while material expert II rated it at 77.5% (categorized as feasible). Meanwhile, media expert I provided a score of 93.33% (categorized as highly feasible), and media expert II gave a score of 97.33% (categorized as highly feasible). After revising the product based on expert feedback, student testing was conducted using a questionnaire. The media was tested in Classes XII RPL I and XII RPL II at SMAN 1 Panai Hilir. Student response data showed that Class XII RPL I scored 86.15%, and Class XII RPL II scored 85.72%, indicating that the learning media was valid and highly suitable for classroom use.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop e-books and assess their feasibility in teaching anecdote texts to tenth-grade students at SMK Madani Marindal I. The research population consisted of 65 students from the X TKJ class, with a sample of 35 students selected for the study. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the Borg and Gall model, which comprises seven stages: research and data collection, planning, product draft development, initial trials, field trials, refinement of the initial product, further field trials, and final product refinement. Data were collected through a questionnaire, employing observation, interviews, and survey techniques. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the improvement of learning materials through digital platforms, enhancing students’ engagement and comprehension of anecdote texts. The findings will also provide insights into the effectiveness of e-books as an alternative instructional medium in vocational high schools.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an audiovisual-based Student Worksheet (LKPD) as an innovative learning medium for teaching poetry to tenth-grade high school students. The development addresses the limited variety of instructional media and students' low motivation in understanding poetic texts. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, adapting the ADDIE model—Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data were collected from tenth-grade students at a high school in Medan City using a needs analysis questionnaire and student learning outcome assessments. The developed audiovisual-based LKPD was validated through expert judgment involving both content and media design experts. Quantitative results showed a high level of validity, with material expert scores reaching 86% and media expert evaluations averaging 71%. These findings suggest that the audiovisual-based LKPD is pedagogically sound and practically feasible for classroom implementation. It offers an engaging alternative for poetry instruction and holds potential for broader application in literature education. The study concludes that integrating audiovisual elements into student worksheets can enhance student engagement and comprehension, making it a viable tool for contemporary language learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of audio-visual learning media based on anecdotal text material for tenth-grade students at a senior high school. The research involved a population and sample of 31 students. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) design, the study utilized the Borg and Gall development model, which includes ten stages: (1) research and data collection, (2) planning and drafting, (3) preliminary field testing, (4) revision, (5) main field testing, (6) product refinement, (7) expanded field testing, (8) implementation testing, (9) final product refinement, and (10) dissemination and implementation. The results indicate that the developed audio-visual learning media is valid and feasible for instructional use. Media expert I gave a feasibility score of 85% ("highly feasible"), expert II gave 90% ("highly feasible"), material expert I gave 80% ("feasible"), and material expert II gave 85% ("feasible"). Teacher evaluation also categorized the media as "highly feasible," and student testing yielded an 88% score. These findings suggest that the audio-visual learning media developed for anecdotal text instruction is effective and appropriate for use in the classroom.
