Abstract

Saving activities from an early age are a form of character education that helps develop frugality, responsibility, and independence in children. This study aims to examine the importance of saving education for early childhood, effective methods for teaching it, and its impact on children’s character development. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach. The results show that saving habits taught through play-based approaches, hands-on practice, and parental role modeling are able to foster financial awareness and a sense of responsibility in children regarding the use of money. Therefore, saving education from an early age is very important to be implemented both in the family and school environments, particularly at SD Negeri 1 Lalowosula.

Abstract

Gout is an inflammatory joint disease commonly experienced by older adults, causing chronic pain and limitations in mobility. Non-pharmacological approaches such as acupressure can serve as a safe and easy complementary therapy that can be performed independently. Health education for older adults requires a specific approach that considers cognitive, sensory, and psychosocial aspects. The gerontological education model (Geragogy) is a learning approach designed according to the characteristics of older adults, using slow-paced delivery, repetition, clear visual aids, and direct practice. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of older adults in performing acupressure to reduce gout complaints. The program was conducted in Neglasari District, Tangerang City, through interactive lectures, demonstrations, repeated practice, and individual assistance. Evaluation was carried out using pre- and post-tests as well as skills observation. The results showed an increase in knowledge from low to moderate and high categories, and most participants were able to perform acupressure independently. These findings indicate that the geragogy-based approach is an effective initial step for providing sustainable health education for older adults.

Abstract

Using SDN 1 Windubite as a case study, this research investigates how primary education is implemented in remote-distance schools located in rural areas. The study focuses on the conditions of the learning process, the inhibiting and supporting components, and the adaptive strategies employed by teachers and students. A qualitative case study approach was used, with data collected through documentation, interviews, and field observations. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the main challenges faced by students include limited infrastructure—such as transportation access, school facilities, electricity, and internet connectivity—shortages of teaching staff, and students’ socio-economic conditions. However, collaboration with the local community, the use of alternative learning media, and contextual learning based on local values serve as adaptive strategies. This study concludes that strengthening educational equity policies, empowering teachers, and engaging community participation are strategic solutions to reduce educational disparities in remote areas.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted as an effort to provide assistance to students of MTs Nurul Qolbi in improving their learning motivation through inspirational learning mentorship. The background of this activity is the still low level of students’ learning motivation, which has an impact on the lack of clarity in their educational goals. The objective of this community service activity is to increase students’ learning motivation. The implementation method used a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The results of the activity indicate that some students did not yet have strong learning motivation and did not fully understand the importance of education for their future. Through inspirational learning mentorship activities, students began to express their interests, learning obstacles, and expectations, resulting in a higher level of learning motivation compared to before.

Abstract

Bullying remains a serious issue frequently found in elementary school environments and can negatively affect students’ psychological, social, and character development. As the early stage of formal education, elementary school plays an important role in shaping children’s personality and social attitudes. However, students’ limited understanding of the forms, impacts, and prevention of bullying causes such behavior to persist and is often perceived as harmless joking. This community service program aimed to improve students’ understanding and awareness of bullying prevention through an anti-bullying socialization activity. The program was conducted by KPM students at SDN 1 Sukahaji through preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages using observation and interactive discussions. The results showed an improvement in students’ understanding of the types of bullying, its negative impacts, and prevention strategies, while also encouraging mutual respect and the courage to report bullying incidents. This socialization activity is expected to contribute to creating a safe and bullying-free elementary school environment.

Abstract

Drug abuse is one of the serious problems that threatens the younger generation, including students (santri) in Islamic boarding school environments. Although Islamic boarding schools are known as educational institutions based on religious and moral values, the potential exposure to drugs remains present along with social development and advances in information technology. This community service activity aims to increase students’ understanding and awareness of the dangers of drugs through a socialization program conducted at Pesantren Ihyaussunnah with 50 participating students. The implementation methods included counseling sessions, interactive discussions, educational media presentations, and evaluation of participants’ understanding through question-and-answer sessions and reflection. The results of the activity indicate an increase in students’ knowledge regarding the types of drugs, the negative impacts of drug abuse on health, social life, and religious values, as well as efforts to prevent drug abuse in daily life. This activity is expected to serve as a preventive measure in protecting students from the dangers of drugs and to strengthen the role of Islamic boarding schools as educational institutions that actively contribute to the prevention of drug abuse.

The methods used are interactive counseling, group discussions, and the distribution of educational materials. The expected outcome is a change in adolescents' perceptions and positive attitudes toward the importance of avoiding drugs and deviant behavior, as well as strengthening the role of the family and community as a support system.

Abstract

The dream of every married couple is to build a family life that is peaceful, secure, and filled with love. However, in reality, many unexpected problems arise when two people who love each other begin their married life. Shortly after marriage, conflicts and disputes may occur due to minor issues and various other factors, one of which is economic problems. Through this counseling activity, knowledge is provided to the congregation of Basyirul Amin Prayer Room—whose members are predominantly Muslim—regarding how to build the concept of a sakinah, mawaddah, wa rahmah (peaceful, loving, and compassionate) family. It is hoped that households can be managed in accordance with these ideals. Although minor conflicts cannot always be avoided, they can be controlled when individuals understand the fundamental principles of marital harmony. The Basyirul Amin congregation lives in an environment surrounded by oil palm plantations and industrial factory areas. Therefore, it is considered necessary to provide counseling and socialization so that if domestic issues arise within their community, they can be properly addressed with the support of local village authorities.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the skills of elementary school teachers in Ladongi District in designing creative and effective digital learning media using the Canva platform. The main problem faced by teachers has been their limited ability to produce engaging, interactive, and student-centered learning materials in the digital learning era. The workshop was conducted through face-to-face training, demonstrations, and periodic mentoring. A total of 25 teachers from SDN 1 Atula in Ladongi District, East Kolaka Regency, participated in this activity. The results indicate an improvement in teachers’ abilities to create interactive presentation materials, digital worksheets, and other visual learning content. Furthermore, participants were able to integrate the designed media into classroom learning activities. Therefore, this workshop had a positive impact on supporting teachers’ creativity and competencies, particularly at SDN 1 Atula, Ladongi District, East Kolaka Regency, and contributed to improving the quality of elementary education at the school.
