Abstract

Ship launching is a crucial stage in shipbuilding, and the airbag launching method has become widely adopted due to its flexibility, cost efficiency, and better safety compared to conventional methods. The ship launching stage is a crucial part of the ship's transition from land to sea, representing a significant innovation in the maritime field. Among the various methods available, the use of airbags has become one of the most effective and widely applied techniques. The approach taken is a quantitative approach to ensure accurate calculations in the process of launching ships using airbags. The quantitative approach aims at calculating the right number and distance between airbags to ensure the safety and efficiency of ship launching, in accordance with the industry standard C/B T 3837-1998. CB/T 3837-1998 standard can be applied to ensure stability and safety during the launching process, as well as minimize the risk of damage to the ship and ensure the launching process runs smoothly. This research aims to calculate the number and distance between airbags used in the launching of a 330-foot barge. The main ship dimensions and airbag specifications were obtained through field interviews to support accurate calculations. The results show that 18 airbags are required, with a distance between airbags ranging from 6.66 to 11.78 meters using a crossover arrangement configuration. Abstract

PT Tunas Sumber Idea Kreasi Kimia is a company engaged in chemical production, such as alkyd resin, amino resin, acrylic resin and latex emulsion. The purpose of this study is to overcome the excess inventory of steel drum type packaging which causes losses because there are inventory costs consisting of purchase costs, ordering costs and storage costs. The method used in this research is the Just in Time (JIT) method. The results showed that the Just in Time (JIT) method obtained an inventory cost of Rp. 5,244,056,000 which is 10% more efficient than the calculation results according to company policy which obtained an inventory cost of Rp. 5,816,152,000 or a savings of Rp. 572,096,000. So that the Just in Time method can be applied at PT Tunas Sumber Idea Kreasi Kimia to save on inventory costs and improve the company's operational efficiency.

Abstract

Project Management Information System is needed to support the effectiveness of project management at CV. Graha Raya Consultant. Currently, the company faces challenges in managing scattered project information and inefficient coordination processes. This study aims to design and implement a web-based project management information system that can assist in monitoring, managing data, and reporting projects. The methodology used is the waterfall-based software development method. This system is expected to help improve efficiency in project management and minimize errors caused by manual recording. The test results show that the information system developed is able to meet the company's needs and facilitate management in supervising each stage of the project.

Abstract

The total use of electrical energy in a building or structure, one of them is the use of an air conditioning (AC) system. There are still many uses of air conditioning (AC) systems based on halocarbon refrigerants (R-22) in a building or structure. Refrigerant 22 is a type of halocarbon refrigerant that is widely used in Split ACs. The author conducted research on an LG 2 PK AC by replacing the refrigerant which was still based on Refrigerant 22 with the hydrocarbon refrigerant Musicool 22, then the data results were analyzed to determine the performance of the AC. From the results of the refrigerant retrofitting carried out on March 1, 2022, it was 1,715 Watts. After replacing the refrigerant type from refrigerant 22 to Musicool 22 refrigerant, the electric current dropped to 1,305 Watts in April 2022, 1,352 Watts in May 2022 and 1,346 Watts in June. so that the electrical power efficiency was obtained by 369 Watts and the percentage of electrical power savings was 21.51% compared to March 2022. An alternative to replace halocarbon-based refrigerants in the Split air conditioning (AC) system is hydrocarbon refrigerants, this is a solution in terms of using more environmentally friendly refrigerants and a small global warming effect.

Abstract

In Indonesia, one of the government's programmes is village electricity. For remote villages in mountainous areas, the construction of micro-hydro power plants is one of the answers to the government programme. Power generation in this way is very suitable for our country, given the natural conditions consisting of many mountains that have streams of river water. In turbines we recognise various types of turbines used, we can use francis, kaplan and pelton turbines. The use of these turbines depends on the potential head owned, Pelton turbines that use the principle of impulse require a relatively high head. In this study, it will be studied how the effect of nozzle angle variation and the number of blades on the performance of pelton turbines. The test results show that the tilt angle 65° produces higher rotation at 900-910 rpm while the tilt 90° produces lower rotation around 800-880 rpm. While the effect of the number of blades used is not so significant in the performance of pelton turbines, it can be seen in the use of the number of blades 9 and 18 at the tilt 65° nominal rotation that occurs around 900-910 rpm.

Abstract

The development of the ironing table product that is currently made only uses the same design, there is no difference in terms of shape or form and there are not many additional functions. This study aims to identify the size of the ironing table with anthropometry, create a design for developing an ironing table and product development after being folded into a chair, and measure the comfort of product development with a product reference using Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA). In this study, anthropometry was used to determine the size of the product to be made, and Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) was used to identify and compare the comfort between reference products and products being developed. The results of the introduction of the ironing table product size using anthropometry are the height of the ironing table of 105 cm, the height and width of the ironing table of 50 cm, the length of the ironing table of 120 cm, the height of the chair seat of 40 cm, the width of the chair seat of 60 cm, the length of the chair seat of 50 cm, and the height of the chair backrest as high as 125 cm. Based on the results of the comfort analysis using RULA, it can be seen that the development product has a smaller value compared to the reference product, so the conclusion is that overall the development product is more comfortable to use than the reference product.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of an integrated business licensing service system and its impact on the quality of public services at the Investment Office and One-Stop Integrated Services (DPMPTSP) of Medan City. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of an integrated system has significantly improved service quality through faster processing times, increased transparency, and reduced bureaucratic complexity. The system implementation has successfully integrated various licensing services into a single platform, resulting in more efficient and effective public service delivery. However, some challenges were identified, including the need for continuous system updates and staff training to maintain optimal service quality.

Abstract

The increasing demand for clean water services in Majalengka Regency, especially in the strategic area of West Java International Airport (BIJB), necessitates optimal performance from PDAM Majalengka. This study aims to evaluate and optimize SPAM technology implementation to enhance water distribution services. Using quantitative analysis through surveys and statistical testing with SPSS, findings indicate that key factors such as water pressure, continuity, quality, pricing, and complaint handling significantly influence customer satisfaction. Recommendations include upgrading distribution networks, optimizing existing water sources, and adopting advanced SPAM technologies to meet future demands.

Abstract

Corrosion of API 5L Grade B steel is a common challenge in industries where the material is exposed to corrosive environments, such as saline solutions. To combat this issue, corrosion inhibitors are often used to protect the steel. This study explores the effectiveness of two inhibitors—Triethanolamine (TEA) and Cocamide DEA (CDEA)—in reducing corrosion on API 5L Grade B steel. By calculating the corrosion rate and inhibitor efficiency, we evaluated the protective properties of each substance. The results showed that TEA provided better corrosion protection, with a corrosion rate of 0.00045 mpy, compared to CDEA’s rate of 0.0009 mpy. Additionally, TEA demonstrated a higher inhibitor efficiency of 70.97%, while CDEA showed only 41.94%. These findings suggest that TEA is a more effective choice for preventing corrosion in API 5L Grade B steel, offering a viable solution to enhance the material’s durability in harsh environments.

Abstract

Air conditioning system has a very important role in a building, this is to support activities in the building. Conventional cooling systems are based on vapor compression systems using refrigerant as the working fluid in the cycle. Commonly used refrigerant fluids have very high global warming and ozone destruction potential. Prolonged use of refrigerants will have negative impacts on the environment such as greenhouse gases and global warming. Through a photovoltaic (PV) system, solar light energy can be converted into electrical energy. Meanwhile, thermoelectric systems can convert temperature differences into electrical voltage differences or vice versa. Hybridization of the two systems can be used as an air conditioning system in buildings or other equipment. In this research, a prototype of a thermoelectric cooling system was produced with an energy source from solar panels, by determining the cooling temperature of a cube-shaped room with a side length of 30 cm at 26oC, the time required to reach this temperature was 18 minutes, data taken starting at 08.00, able to produce an average daily power from solar panels of 54.25 watts at each data collection. Meanwhile, the Coefficient of Performance of the cooling system in this study was 0.305. This system still cannot be compared with conventional cooling systems, but the cooling system in this research has the advantage of being a cooling system that is capable of producing cooling without using an electrical energy source from PLN.
