Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a non-communicable disease that continues to experience an increase in the number of cases with high mortality and morbidity rates, expected to triple by the year 2030. In the long term, it can lead to microvascular, macrovascular, and neuropathic complications such as peripheral vascular disease, indicating abnormalities in the lower limbs, manifested as diabetic ulcers. The research aims to determine the Influence of Diabetic Foot Exercises on the Risk of Diabetic Ulcers in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus at Sukosari Community Health Center in Babadan Subdistrict, Ponorogo Regency. The research design is a pre-experimental study with a One Group Pretest-Posttest approach. The study was conducted from June to August 2023. The population consisted of all Diabetes Mellitus patients at Sukosari Community Health Center in Babadan.  Sample of 30 respondents was selected using purposive sampling. The independent variable was the risk of diabetic ulcers, and the dependent variable was diabetic foot exercises. The observation instrument used was Inlow's 60-second diabetic foot screening tool. Statistical analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test through SPSS with α = 0.05. The research results showed that the risk of diabetic ulcers before diabetic foot exercises, more than half of the respondents (63.3%), had a moderate category, and 43.3% had a mild category. There is an influence of Diabetic Foot Exercises on the Risk of Diabetic Ulcers in Patients with Diabetes Mellitus at Sukosari Community Health Center in Babadan Subdistrict, Ponorogo Regency, with a p-value of 0.000 ≤ α 0.05. Diabetic foot exercises can be performed independently, without the need for equipment, and at no cost. It is hoped that patients with Diabetes Mellitus can perform them regularly, systematically, and continuously, with the expectation of reducing the risk of diabetic ulcers.

Abstract

A person's coping mechanism in dealing with problems in life, whether problems with family, friends, or problems with a partner, can affect mental health conditions. Unstable mental health conditions in students can have an impact on their daily lives. This study aims to determine the relationship between coping mechanisms and mental health after a breakup. By using a cross-sectional approach, a sampling technique using purposive sampling and 101 respondents participated. Data collection using a coping mechanism questionnaire and mental health after a breakup questionnaire. The results showed that some respondents had adaptive coping mechanisms (53.5%) and good mental health (55.4%). The results of statistical analysis using the chi-square test showed a significant relationship between coping mechanisms and mental health (p value=0.001) and students with maladaptive coping mechanisms were 10 times more likely to experience poor mental health after they experienced a breakup. Efforts are needed to improve students' adaptive coping skills to prevent poor mental health problems when they experience a breakup.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease caused by the body being unable to release or use insulin adequately so that glucose levels in the blood are high. If this high blood glucose level lasts for a long time, there will be a disturbance in the alcohol metabolic pathway which results in increased sorbitol production so that various nursing problems arise, including ineffective peripheral perfusion. This study uses a case study method in the form of exposure to the results of applying the client's nursing care process in accordance with the theory, containing a discussion of nursing actions that occur in the field. This research was conducted on one client who experienced Diabetes mellitus for 4 visits starting from May 15, 2023, through data collection of interviews, observations, physical examinations, and documentation studies. The results of this study were obtained from the assessment, namely Ineffective Peripheral Perfusion in accordance with the theory, and diagnosis as in accordance with the client's condition, while the implementation refers to the interventions that have been set, and the evaluation refers to the general objectives and specific objectives that have been set in accordance with the theory.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the number of maternal deaths collected from the family health program records at the Ministry of Health in 2020 showed 4,627 deaths. This study aimed to determine the effect of red guava juice consumption on hemoglobin levels. This study used a quasi-experiment design method with a two-group pretest and posttest approach. The population in this study were anemic pregnant women in the first and third trimesters; the number of pregnant women with anemia in the last three months was 160, and the number of pregnant women with mild anemia was 57. Then, 30 pregnant women were taken as samples based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection using observation sheet. Data analysis was conducted using a T-dependent test, and results were presented using frequency distribution. The average hemoglobin level of the control group before the administration of Fe tablets was 9.80 gr/dl, and after consumption of Fe tablets was 10.45 gr/dl. The average hemoglobin level of the intervention group before giving Fe tablets + red guava juice was 9.64 gr/dl, and after consuming Fe tablets + red guava juice, it was 11.37 gr/dl. Statistical test results obtained p value = 0.000. Red guava juice consumption affects the hemoglobin levels of pregnant women. Pregnant women are recommended to consume Fe tablets regularly, accompanied by red guava juice, to increase hemoglobin levels.

Abstract

Patient safety is a top priority for health care facilities because it is related to the quality and good image of the hospital. The impact that occurs when health workers ignore patient safety is that patient care is prolonged, patients can experience physical and psychological trauma, disability and even death. Proper drug administration is influenced by several factors. One of these factors is the nurse behavior factor, where nurses do not apply the six principles of treatment in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) set by the hospital. The research aims to see the role of the Nurse in Charge in identifying the 6 correct drug administration. This research is of the analytical description type using observational methods. The population in the research were all nurses in the Anthurium 3 room with a sample of 14 respondents selected using total sampling. This study looked at the compliance of nurses in identifying the six correct principles as measured by a questionnaire on the implementation of the six correct principles of drug administration. The results of the study showed the accuracy of identifying 6 correct drugs, namely the correct drug with an accuracy of 74.1%, the correct dose of 70%, the correct time of 73.2%, the correct patient 64.2%, the correct route 87.5% and the correct documentation 65%. The implementation of the identification of the 6 correct drug administration can be carried out optimally if all nurses can carry out the protocol according to procedures based on the right drug, right time, right patient, right route, and right documentation.

Abstract

Anxiety is one form of psychological change in pregnant women. Pregnant women are vulnerable to mental health problems because of the changes they experience at various stages which affect their mental health. The anxiety level of pregnant women can be reduced with non-pharmacological measures, namely prenatal yoga. This study aims to determine the effect of prenatal yoga on the anxiety of third trimester primigravida pregnant women facing labor at TPMB Lina Rosiana, East Jakarta. This research method uses a quasi-experiment with a pre-test and post-test with a control group design. The sample in this study consisted of 34 third trimester primigravida pregnant women who were divided into 2 groups, namely 17 control groups and 17 experimental groups. Samples were taken using purposive sampling. The pain assessment instrument used is the anxiety skinning questionnaire, namely PASS, which has been proven valid and reliable. Data were analyzed using the Paired t-test to determine differences in anxiety within one group and the independent t-test to determine differences in anxiety between groups. The results of the study showed that there was a difference in the level of anxiety in the experimental group before and after being given prenatal yoga, with a P-value of 0.000 and there was a difference in the level of anxiety between the experimental group and the control group with a p-value of 0.000.
