Abstract

Anemia is a condition where the concentration of red blood cells is below normal. Anemia can be caused by damage to blood cells due to heavy exercise which generally causes a loss of iron (Fe) so that hemoglobin (Hb) levels decrease. This study aims to determine the effect of Dutch eggplant juice in preventing anemia in adolescents. This research uses an experimental method, using a pre-experimental design with a pretest-posttest design. The instrument used in this research is an Hb measuring instrument, then the measurement results are observed. The results of the research show that there is an effect of giving tamarillo juice before and after with p-value = 0.000 (a<0.05). For further research, you can add comparative variables such as giving dragon fruit juice.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus type 2 is a disease with the largest number of sufferers of all existing diabetes diseases. Diabetes mellitus type 2 can be prevented by modifying lifestyle and lifestyle. This study aims to determine the self-awareness of groups at high risk of developing Diabetes Mellitus. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method with a case study approach. Data was obtained by interviewing three high-risk participants who had a family history of Diabetes Mellitus. The interview results were analyzed using the Corbin and Strauss method which consists of three stages, namely open coding, axial coding and selective coding. The results of the research show that there is a similar pattern and produce selective coding, namely the lack of knowledge, attitudes and behavior in preventing Diabetes Mellitus which is not yet good in the community. Suggestions in the research are for health service providers to be more active in terms of prevention, such as providing education to residents so that residents can maintain their health. independently, especially in terms of a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

Indonesia is committed to accelerating increased access to treatment in hospitals with quality services. ARV treatment still faces several challenges, such as the level of knowledge of people living with HIV, problems with counseling, assistance, family support, community support, and the number of services available. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the behavior of initiating ARV treatment in people with HIV at RSUD Dr. Drajat Prawiranegara. This type of research is quantitative and has a cross-sectional design. Independent variables are education level, attitude, distance to health services, and family support. Meanwhile, the dependent variable is ARV treatment initiation behavior—the entire population of HIV patients at RSUD Dr. Drajat Prawiranegara in 2023. The total sample was 56 people selected by total sampling. Statistical tests used the Chi-square test with 95% CI and logistic regression tests. The results of statistical tests showed that the variable distance to availability of health services did not have a significant relationship with ARV treatment initiation behavior (p> 0.05), while the variable level of knowledge with p= 0.000, the attitude variable with p=0.009, and the family support variable with p=0.002, which means it has a significant relationship with ARV treatment initiation behavior. The largest OR value is in the knowledge variable OR=12.129.

Serang City occupies the 4th lowest position in terms of its people's ability to access proper sanitation with a percentage of 92.54%. This research aims to determine the relationship between determinants that influence latrine ownership in the community in the Serang City Health Center Work Area in 2023. The research uses a cross-sectional research design. This research aims to study the dynamics of the correlation between the independent variables, namely public perception about open defecation, socio-economic status and availability of facilities with the dependent variable, namely latrine ownership. This research uses an approach, observation and data collection taken at the same time at a certain time. Abstract

Self-directed learning (SDL) solves learning challenges using various learning tools. Nursing requires lifelong learning, and SDL is an important skill for practitioners to stay current and effective. It is required of nursing students to embrace SDL and hone these abilities. Nevertheless, there is no indication of this novel procedure in Lumajang. This study aims to assess nursing students' preparation for SDL and its impact on learning outcomes. This quasi-experimental study purposefully included 91 students who carry out basic nursing clinical practice as participants. The instrument used in this study was the Self-Directed Learning Readiness Scale (SDLRS) questionnaire developed by Fisher. The results of this study showed that there was an increase in the SDLR level from 9 students (9.9%) having a high SDLR level to 78 students (85.8%) and 82 students (90.1%) having a moderate SDLR level to 13 students (14.2%). The nursing students' average SDL preparedness level has a substantial impact on learning outcomes. Nursing training institutes should give the resources required to adopt SDL as a primary teaching technique to ensure competent lifelong professionals.

Nursing professional values are very important, especially when interacting with patients, directing them to behave according to professional values in providing nursing care to create professional behavior. The process of learning professional values begins when students are in the educational process. The purpose of the study was to describe the professional values of nursing students in the nursing academic and internship program at the University of Faletehan. This type of research is descriptive with a cross-sectional approach, the sampling technique uses total sampling with 241 students as respondents. Data were collected using the NPVS-3 (Nurses Professional Values Scale-3) questionnaire. The validity and reliability of the Indonesian version of the NPVS-3 questionnaire have been obtained from previous research with a Cronbach alpha value of 0.959. The results showed that most of the respondents (54.4%) rated their professional values in the low category. Based on the sub-variables, caring is a sub-variable that is considered low by most of the respondents (56.0%). Professionalism was also rated low by most of the respondents (55.2%). In contrast to the other two sub-variables in the activism sub-variable, most of the respondents rated it in the high category (51.9%). The results of this study can be used as an evaluation by educational institutions so that they can further develop a curriculum that supports the improvement of the professional values of nursing students and can be used as a reference in the preparation of future learning strategies.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem caused by a lack of nutritional intake over a long period of time. Dietary habits are healthy and balanced eating patterns that help control blood glucose and balance body weight. The cause of the increase in stunting rates is due to the lack of knowledge in adolescents who will become future mothers about good nutritional intake, due to a poor economy that makes it difficult for people to get nutritious food to fulfil children's nutrition during their growth and development. For this reason, stunting prevention can be done since adolescence. This study aims to determine the relationship between perceptions of stunting and dietary habits of adolescent girls at SMA Nurul Falah North Jakarta. This study used a quantitative research design with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were 76 female students. Samples were taken with simple random sampling technique. The instrument used was a stunting perception questionnaire and dietary habits and validity and reliability tests were carried out, obtained the results of the stunting perception questionnaire (0.847) and the dietary habits questionnaire (0.645). The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between perceptions of stunting and dietary habits of adolescent girls with a p-value of 0.001 and a value of r=0.376. There is a relationship between perceptions of stunting and dietary habits of adolescent girls at SMA Nurul Falah Jakarta. It is hoped that the school can provide education about stunting and prevention methods that adolescents can do to break the chain of stunting in the future and provide education on how to carry out a good and healthy dietary habits programme.

Abstract

The use of Salbutamol for the treatment of asthma has been a part of regular therapy as a short-acting β2-agonist since the 1960s. In the GINA 2024 guidelines, it is indicated that the use of salbutamol in monotherapy has been associated with increased mortality and poor asthma control. Therefore, the development of alternatives that allow rapid identification of its overuse is of great interest for the management of the disease. In order to achieve this objective, it was proposed to develop the technological tool, Auto Asthma Alerts “AAA”, with the aim to identifying in the clinical history and in real time the overuse of SABA (more than 3 inhalers per year) and thus alert physicians. The platform was successfully trialled on a pilot scale in a healthcare institution in Montería, Colombia, MediSinu IPS.
