Abstract

Djuanda Forest Park as a conservation forest has great potential as a tourist destination because there are a lot of attractions in one area. Nevertheless, the number of domestic and foreign visitors in several months is still low. Therefore, this study was aimed at determining and analyzing the internal and external environment of Djuanda Forest Park as well as formulating the marketing strategies to increase the number of visitors. This study first set the internal and external factors and formulated the SWOT Matrix. The analysis results based on the internal-external analysis suggested that the strategic position of the forest park lies in cell V (five) by which the applied strategies are to hold and maintain through the market penetration and product development. The SWOT analysis generates several strategies that can be grouped into market penetration and product development

Abstract

The objective of study is to explore the relationship between visual and verbal elements within the frame of multimodal discourse analysis in Madura tourism promotion. Promotion in the form of moving images with verbal language makes it easier for readers and potential tourists to see tourist attractions more closely and realistically. This study is descriptive qualitative using 3 videos of Madura tourism promotion, in particular tourism promotions of Bangkalan, Pamekasan, and Sampang regencies on Madura Island, Indonesia. Only scene representing religious tourism as the data of this study in which there are 8 data of religious tourism images. There are two parts of data analysis: visual and verbal analyses.  Visual semiotic mode of scenes and images were analyzed using visual grammar by Kress and van Leeuwen (2006).  In addition, verbal data are all of utterances generated during the scenes and the still images were analyzed based on appraisal framework by Martin and White (2005) especially on the attitude system.  Results show that tourism promotional videos use more than one mode of communication or semiotic system elements to create meaning through representational and interactive structures, compositional meanings, and verbal language.  All of the compositions can come together to create messages to the public, in this case information about tourist attractions and their locations that represent the religiosity of Madura.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the promotional strategies undertaken by Monkey Forest in promoting its tourist attraction. Monkey forest is one of the tourist attractions in Bali which is located in Gianyar regency. In its development, a promotional strategy must always be considered in promoting a destination. The promotion strategy referred to in this study is a promotion strategy through Instagram account. Nowadays Instagram is one of the social media that is very widely used. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection methods were obtained from direct observation, interviews with the monkey forest and observation of promotional strategies on social media Instagram @monkeyforestsanctuaryubud. Interviews were conducted with one of the monkey forest managers named Mr. Dwija. Then the data is processed and described descriptively through writing and pictures. The result of this research is that Monkey Forest uses 5 promotional strategies, namely strategic planning, situation analysis, communication process analysis, IMC program planning and Monitoring and Evaluation

Abstract

Taro Village is one of the villages located in Tegallalang District, Gianyar Regency, Bali Province. This village has various kinds of potential, especially natural potential that can be used as a tourist destination. In addition, the surrounding environment is quite calm making this village as one of the tourist destinations based on ecological, community custom and cultural values so it can make Taro Village has the potential to be developed into an eco-spiritual destination. The research aims to identify the potentials and weaknesses that exist in Taro Village, as well as the opportunities and external obstacles faced by Taro Village. The method used in this research is qualitative approach by using a SWOT analysis. The results show that Taro Village can be developed into an eco-spiritual tourist by maximizing the strategy according to its potential and minimizing the weaknesses in Taro Village.

Abstract

Ubud as one of the wellknown tourists’ destinations in Bali Province, currently is developing the potency on culinary for tourism. Nowadays Ubud is also becoming the interests of millennial tourists to visit. Millenn ial tourists represent 27 % of the global population or around 2 billion people. On average, they take 35 days of vacation each year with the typical of preferring experience the most. Therefore, this research is designed by exploratory study approach and the aims are to analyze and identify the interests of millennial tourists to visit Ubud for the purpose of tasting and enjoying culinary for the sake of tourism. Primary data is collected using semi-structured interviews with respondents as many as 30 (thirty) millennial visitors or tourists in Ubud. Through a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, this research explores millenials’ thoughts and motivation of culinary tourists in Ubud. For the result, this study indicates millennials tourists’ respondents have a high interest in culinary tours.  Ubud is considered to offer a large selection of local culinary delights of good taste and quality; calm, comfortable, and nice view and atmosphere; and is a favorite destination for tourists. Sources of information about culinary tours in Ubud are recommendations from friends / relatives and social media. This study also includes exploratory observations regarding the food menu, location, facilities, and security in Ubud District. For wider perspectives on culinary tours a la millennials, further research is encouraged in other areas and interests.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is a very dangerous epidemic that affects the order of human lives around the world. The existence of the Covid-19 pandemic has made everyone without exception have to be able to adapt to the new life order or new normal era in accordance with health protocols. In this new normal era, many people have begun to take short, cost-effective trips and tend to seek pleasure and health simultaneously to reduce boredom and stress when forced to stay at home during lockdowns. One of the tourism trends that is coming back is Wellness Tourism. The current trend of Wellness Tourism is one of the options for restoring the passion of tourism in Bali Province which will encourage public interest in travelling. Tirta Empul is one of the tourist attractions that have the potential to support wellness tourism as a Wellness Tourist Attraction. This research was conducted in Tirta Empul which aims to analyze development strategies related to the wellness tourist attraction. This study uses data processing analysis carried out by SWOT through an analysis process of internal factors (IFAS) and external factors (EFAS). The results showed that the Grand Strategy obtained in this study is the S (Strength) - O (Opportunity) Strategy, so that there are opportunities to develop Tirta Empul as a Wellness Tourist Attraction in a New Normal Era.

Abstract

This study looked into the influence of the motivational factors among foreign and local tourists who availed the VHO-partnered hotels in Cebu City. The study utilized a descriptive-correlational design to look into the level of influence on the factors of (a) ease of navigation, (b) opportunity to earn points and rewards, (c) availability of affordable pricing, and (d) simplicity of reservation process and varied mode of payments. Three hundred thirty-nine 339 tourists participated in this study. The results showed that level of influence is on the highest degree, while on the difference foreign tourists’ traveling for business and leisure show no significant difference. On one hand, local tourists traveling for business and leisure revealed a significant difference. Furthermore, the comparison of the level of influence between local and foreign tourists, in general, showed a noteworthy significant difference. Further study of VHO in a different setting is recommended to get a better generalization on the VHO topic.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the sensory experience from guests who have stayed at a budget hotel in Bandung, West Java Province. Although only offers low prices, simple facilities, and less spacious room, yet a budget hotel has been able to maximize comfort and satisfaction for their guests. Subsequently, the number of budget hotels increase significantly in the past few decades and create different themes for hospitality industry. These themes create unique experience and they are felt by five senses of guests during their visits. The experience is divided into visual, tactile, gustatory, auditory, and olfactory. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive analysis from 145 questionnaires which were collected on the field. The results showed that the sensory experience had a dominant impact on guest satisfaction in staying at a budget hotel, especially in tactile and visual.

Abstract

In recent years, food blogging has become a popular medium for sharing thoughts, feelings, opinions, and ideas. However, its impact on the beverage industry has not been widely studied. This study aims to examine the effect of food blogger promotion on brand image and purchasing decisions partially. This study took samples at the Delapan Gram Coffee Shop. The research method used in this research is the quantitative method. While the independent research variable is food blogger promotion (X), and the dependent variable is the brand image (Y1) and purchase decision (Y2). The data analysis method used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis using the SPSS program. This study found that food blogger promotion partially influences the brand image and purchasing decisions. However, brand image has a higher contribution to purchasing decisions than food blogger promotion. The practical implication of this research is as a reference for entrepreneurs, especially coffee shops, regarding the role of food bloggers in increasing sales. Meanwhile, the limitation in this study is that the sample scope is limited to one company. This study expects further research related to other factors that may have a greater influence on purchasing decisions.

Abstract

The island of Bali is famous as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Thus, the development of Bali tourism from year to year is strongly influenced by various factors. Culture becomes an important factor for tourists choosing Bali as their preferred tourist destination. In order to support the tourism, the human resource also becoming the significant aspect that need to be taken into account. Given the importance of the role of human resources in the tourism sector, especially in the hospitality subsector, this study analyzed the value of Bali's local wisdom among star hotels in Badung regency. this study also wanted to find out how the phenomenon of local wisdom value in Bali, especially in Badung regency. Identification of the value of local Balinese wisdom is expected to gain contribution of ideas and thought in human resource development to the hospitality sub-sector in Bali in general, and Badung Regency in particular. Through literature studies and questionnaire consisted of  34 questions to measure the six cultural dimension such as Power Distance, Individualism vs. Collectivity, Masculinity vs. Femininity, Uncertainty Avoidance, Long-term orientation vs. Short-term orientation, and Indulgence vs. Restraint, the data then analysed through the VSM (value survey module) developed. The results shows that Badung regency’s star hotels’ employees have a culture with a high level of collectivism, shows a low power distance value, tend to have Feminine culture, have a culture with a relatively low level of Uncertainty Avoidance
