Abstract

Abstract This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with the help of Transberi media in improving the understanding of science concepts in fourth-grade students. Inappropriate use of learning models and media has the potential to reduce conceptual understanding and student participation, as seen from the results of the pre-study which showed that many students obtained below average scores. Application in this context refers to the extent to which a learning medium successfully achieves its intended objectives. The PBL model is an approach that emphasizes problem-solving as a means to foster in-depth conceptual understanding. Transberi media is designed as a fun, interactive tool to facilitate students' understanding and retrieval of learned concepts. Conceptual understanding itself is defined as a student's ability to re-present specific knowledge in a more general form for easier comprehension. This study used a quantitative method with a one-group pre-test post-test pre-experimental design. The research sample was all fourth-grade students of SD 02 Bategede. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, tests (pre-test and post-test), and documentation. Data were analyzed using normality tests, and n-gain tests.The results of the N-Gain score analysis in this study showed an average of 0.5568, which is included in the moderate category (0.30 ≤ g < 0.70). This indicates an increase in students' understanding of science concepts by 55.68% after the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning learning model supported by Transberi media. This finding is consistent with the results of previous studies, which confirmed the effectiveness of the PBL model in improving conceptual understanding, especially in fourth-grade elementary school students. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media Transberi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPAS pada siswa kelas IV. Ketidaktepatan penggunaan model dan media pembelajaran berpotensi menurunkan pemahaman konsep dan partisipasi siswa, sebagaimana terlihat dari hasil pra-penelitian yang menunjukkan banyak siswa memperoleh nilai di bawah rata-rata. Penerapan dalam konteks ini merujuk pada sejauh mana suatu media pembelajaran berhasil mencapai tujuan yang diharapkan. Model PBL merupakan pendekatan yang menitikberatkan pada pemecahan masalah sebagai sarana untuk mendorong pemahaman konsep secara mendalam. Media Transberi dirancang sebagai alat bantu interaktif yang menyenangkan untuk mempermudah siswa memahami dan menyampaikan kembali konsep yang dipelajari. Pemahaman konsep sendiri diartikan sebagai kemampuan siswa dalam merepresentasikan kembali suatu ilmu secara spesifik ke dalam bentuk yang lebih umum agar lebih mudah dipahami. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimental tipe one-group pre-test post-test. Sampel penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SD 02 Bategede. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara, observasi, tes (pre-test dan post-test), serta dokumentasi. Data dianalisis melalui uji normalitas, dan uji n-gain. Adapun hasil analisis skor N-Gain dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan rata-rata sebesar 0,5568, yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang (0,30 ≤ g < 0,70). Hal ini mengindikasikan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep IPAS siswa sebesar 55,68% setelah penerapan model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning yang didukung oleh media Transberi. Temuan ini konsisten dengan hasil penelitian sebelumnya, yang menegaskan efektivitas model PBL dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, khususnya pada siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Abstract  This study aims to improve the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN 4 Mulyolobo Jepara, who in the pre-cycle only achieved 5.56% mastery due to teacher-centered learning and minimal media innovation. The solution used is Problem-Based Learning (PBL) assisted by Policermat (Monopoly Cerdas Cermat) media to encourage active involvement, critical thinking, collaboration, and create an interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere. This Classroom Action Research involved 18 students and lasted for two cycles, each with two meetings. Data were obtained through tests, observations, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed an increase in learning mastery from 5.60% in the pre-cycle to 38.90% in Cycle I, and 83.30% in Cycle II (a total increase of 77.7%). In Cycle II, students’ IPAS process skills also demonstrated significant improvement, with achievements as follows: observing 86.83%, questioning and answering 83.34%, planning and conducting investigations 77.78%, associating 84.00%, and communicating 82.64%. Based on IPAS assessments, students’ learning outcomes also improved, with scores of C1 (Remembering) 79.40%, C2 (Understanding) 73.98%, C3 (Applying) 70.58%, C4 (Analyzing) 66.95%, C5 (Evaluating) 62.45%, and C6 (Creating) 61.95%. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan hasil belajar IPAS siswa kelas V SDN 4 Mulyolobo Jepara yang pada pra-siklus hanya mencapai ketuntasan 5,56% akibat pembelajaran berpusat pada guru dan minim inovasi media. Solusi yang digunakan adalah Problem-Based Learning (PBL) berbantu media Policermat (Monopoli Cerdas Cermat) untuk mendorong keterlibatan aktif, berpikir kritis, kolaborasi, serta menciptakan suasana belajar yang interaktif dan menyenangkan. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini melibatkan 18 siswa dan berlangsung selama dua siklus, masing-masing dua kali pertemuan. Data diperoleh melalui tes, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, lalu dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan ketuntasan belajar dari 5,60% pada pra-siklus menjadi 38,90% pada siklus I, dan 83,30% pada siklus II (kenaikan total 77,7%). Pada siklus II menunjukkan keterampilan proses IPAS siswa sudah berkembang baik dengan capaian mengamati 86,83%, menanya dan menjawab 83,34%, merencanakan dan melakukan penyelidikan 77,78%, mengasosiasikan 84,00%, dan mengomunikasikan 82,64%. Berdasarkan penilaian IPAS, hasil belajar siswa juga meningkat dengan capaian C1 79,40%, C2 73,98%, C3 70,58%, C4 66,95%, C5 62,45%, dan C6 61,95%.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and implementation process of pop-up book media in increasing the depth of understanding of Fiqh material, especially the Pillars of Hajj, in fourth-grade students of MI Muhammadiyah Taraman. The background of the study is based on the challenges of Fiqh learning which tends to be abstract and textual, making it less effective for students at the concrete operational age who need visual aids and real experiences. The research method used is a mixed-methods with a sequential explanatory design. The quantitative stage used a quasi-experiment with a pre-test and pos-ttest control group design on 28 students. Qualitative data were obtained through interviews, observations, and document studies, then analyzed thematically. The results showed that the implementation of pop-up books significantly improved students' conceptual understanding, with an average posttest score (80.59) exceeding the pretest score (68.07) and the KKM (75). Statistical tests (t-test) confirmed this significant difference (p<0.05). Qualitatively, pop-up books are effective through three mechanisms: visual-spatial effects for long-term memory, physical interactivity that increases student engagement (78% active), and learning differentiation. However, the study also identified technical constraints such as text that was too small, lengthy teacher preparation time, and limited content. In conclusion, pop-up books have proven to be an effective and engaging medium for improving Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) understanding at the elementary school (MI) level. Their success depends on appropriate design for children's characteristics, teacher training, and integration with other methods, such as live demonstrations for procedural aspects.  Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas dan proses implementasi media pop-up book dalam meningkatkan kedalaman pemahaman materi Fiqih, khususnya Rukun Haji, pada siswa kelas IV MI Muhammadiyah Taraman. Latar belakang penelitian didasari oleh tantangan pembelajaran Fiqih yang cenderung abstrak dan tekstual, sehingga kurang efektif untuk siswa usia operasional konkret yang membutuhkan bantuan visual dan pengalaman nyata. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed-methods dengan desain sequential explanatory. Tahap kuantitatif menggunakan eksperimen kuasi dengan pre-test dan post-test control group design pada 28 siswa menggunakan analisis statistik . Data kualitatif diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumen, kemudian dianalisis secara tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi pop-up book secara signifikan meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual siswa, dengan nilai rata-rata post-test (80,59) melampaui nilai pre-test (68,07) dan KKM (75). Uji statistik (t-test) mengonfirmasi perbedaan yang signifikan ini (p<0,05). Secara kualitatif, pop-up book efektif melalui tiga mekanisme: efek visual-spasial untuk memori jangka panjang, interaktivitas fisik yang meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa (78% aktif), dan diferensiasi pembelajaran. Namun, penelitian juga mengidentifikasi kendala teknis seperti desain teks yang terlalu kecil, waktu persiapan guru yang panjang, dan keterbatasan konten. Kesimpulan, pop-up book terbukti sebagai media yang efektif dan menarik untuk meningkatkan pemahaman Fiqih di tingkat MI. Keberhasilannya bergantung pada desain yang sesuai karakteristik anak, pelatihan guru, dan integrasi dengan metode lain seperti demonstrasi langsung untuk aspek prosedural.
