Abstract

Staging Dark Discrimination represents the social life of deaf friends seen through the values of life practiced. The values practiced are: social values, religious values, and moral values. Through the Dark Discrimination show, it will be described in relation to the formulation of the problem: the dramatic structure of the Dark Discrimination show, as well as the deaf friends' social representations presented in the Dark Discrimination show. The process of elucidating the problems of the deaf friends' social lives is first described as a Dark Discrimination show. Next is Gustav Freytag's dramatic structural theory for dissecting the dramatic structure of the Dark Discrimination show. The theory used to analyze social representation is the theory of construction and cultural reproduction of Irwan Abdullah. This interpretive qualitative research method will use qualitative data obtained from the video documentation of the Dark Discrimination Show, while the data collection used is the study of documentation, literature, and interviews. The Dark Discrimination Show is a social representation of deaf friends, and the figures presented by deaf friends represent the image of the people in Makassar. The picture of the deaf friend's social life as outlined in Dark Discrimination through forms of representation from the social, economic and religious aspects that we can see from the values of their daily practices. Values that are practiced and expressed in the show are: Social values, religious values, and moral values. The values which are each illustrated through the figure of the Deaf in Dark Discrimination. Starting from the sensitivity of deaf friends to the community, triggering deaf friends in making the work of Dark Discrimination. The sensitivity of deaf friends is reflected in the dramatic structure of the Dark Discrimination show that practiced values are closely related to deaf friends' behavior.

Abstract

This study examines the preferences of EFL (English as a Foreign Language) students regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in writing, specifically at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. The study explores how AI tools such as DeepL Translator, Google Translator, Grammarly, QuillBot, and ChatGPT enhance students' writing quality. Data was collected through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews from 15 students in the English Education program. The results indicate that DeepL Translator is the preferred tool for translation due to its editing flexibility, followed by Google Translator and QuillBot. QuillBot and Grammarly dominate in grammar checking, chosen for their ability to boost students' confidence in writing. ChatGPT is the most commonly used AI for generating writing ideas, while QuillBot ranks highest for paraphrasing. These findings reveal that although AI provides quick and specific feedback, there are concerns about over-reliance on this technology. The study concludes that while AI is a practical writing aid, its use should be balanced to avoid hindering the development of independent writing skills. This research provides important insights into integrating AI in writing instruction in EFL environments.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan pengaruh leader member exchange terhadap perilaku kerja inovatif dan yang dimediasi oleh keterikatan kerja. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah bahwa perilaku kerja inovatif dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yang dapat meningkatkan maupun menghambat. Salah satu faktor yang dapat memunculkan atau meningkatkan perilaku kerja inovatif pada karyawan adalah leader-member exchange. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa leader-member exchange yang tinggi dapat memunculkan berbagai positive outcome pada individu maupun organisasi, seperti komitmen organisasi, kepuasan kerja karyawan, rendahnya turnover, dan work engagement serta persepsi bawahan terhadap pimpinan sangat berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan, termasuk perilaku kerja inovatif. Leader-member exchange yang tinggi ditandai dengan adanya pertukaran sumber daya yang berharga antara pimpinan dan bawahan. Sampel penelitian ini adalah pegawai di Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan, Perlindungan Anak, Pengendalian Penduduk dan Keluarga Berencana Kabupaten Siak, yang berjumlah 100 orang. Pengumpulan data dengan cara menyebar kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku kerja inovatif dipengaruhi oleh baiknya leader member exchange, dan keterikatan kerja yang kuat akibat membaiknya leader member exchange mampu meningkatkan perilaku inovasi pegawai kantor Dinas Pemberdayaan Perempuan, Perlindungan Anak, Pengendalian Penduduk dan Keluarga Berencana Kabupaten Siak.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan yaitu mengetahui serta memahami Konsep Kebahagiaan Komaruddin Hidayat Perspektif Tasawuf Dan Relevansinya. ia merupakan seorang intelektual muslim yang terkenal dengan metodologi filsafat sebagai dasar dalam keilmuannya serta memiliki pemikiran sufistik dalam berbagai macam karya yang di tulisnya. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian menerapkan metode studi kepustakaan (Library research). Data yang terkumpul selajutnya diolah dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif yaitu melakukan analisis terhadap karya-karya yang membahas tentang kebahagiaan, kemudian mendeskripsikan hasil analisis tersebut. Teknik penulisan di dalam penulisan skripsi ini disesuaikan dengan standar berdasarkan pedoman penulisan skripsi, tesis dan disertasi. Hasil penelitian ini berupa tulisan yang menjelaskan bahwa kebahagiaan menurut Komaruddin Hidayat yaitu berupa jenjang yang berkaitan dengan martabat atau struktur kejiwaan setiap orang. Komaruddin Hidayat menjelaskan bahwa terdapat tiga pilar utama yang dapat memengaruhi kebahagiaan seseorang. Pertama, memiliki keluarga yang baik (having a good family). Kedua, memiliki pekerjaan yang bagus (having a good job). Dan ketiga memiliki teman-teman dan komunitas yang baik (having a good friends and community). Selain pilar-pilar, Kebahagiaan juga berupa dimensi dan tangga-tangga untuk meraih bahagia bagi setiap orang yang ingin meraih kebahagiaan. Konsep dan pengalaman bahagia yang dialami oleh manusia memiliki tingkatan bermacam-macam serta dapat dibuat hierarkinya. Secara garis besar, ada lima jenjang eksistensi yang dimiliki manusia yaitu jasadi, nabati, hewani, insani, dan ruhani. Dalam diri manusia melekat jiwa nabati dan hewani yang arahnya selalu mengejar kebahagiaan yang bersifat jasadi yaitu seseorang akan selalu terbayang-bayang mengejar kenikmatan fisik,. Kebahagiaan hidup melalui jiwa insani yang ikonnya berupa Intelektualitas yang abstrak, yaitu kebahagiaan intelektual (intellectual happiness), kebahagiaan moral (moral happiness), dan kebahagiaan sosial (social happiness). Tetapi terdapat satu sumber kebahagiaan sebagai puncak kebahagiaan atau tingkat kebahagiaan yang lebih tinggi yaitu kebahagiaan spiritual (spritual happiness). Seseorang dapat merasakan kebahagiaan tertinggi apabila jiwa rabbani yang merupakan tingkatan kebahagiaan tertinggi dapat mengendalikan nafsu, pikiran, dan perbuatan agar senantiasa merasakan kedekatan serta kasih sayang Tuhan.

Abstract

This study investigates how eighth-graders at Nurul Ilmi Integrated Islamic Junior High School feel about using Canva to create recount text media. This study, which took place in the academic year 2023–2024, included 22 participants who used Canva in their English classes. The study examines at the difficulties and shortcomings that students have when writing in English. Utilizing a qualitative approach with phenomenological types, the research methodology focuses on the students' actual experiences. Both questionnaires and interviews, which are descriptive qualitative methods, were used to gather data. The results show that students have a positive view of Canva, believing it to be easy to use, beneficial in streamlining the writing process, and successful in illustrating story ideas. Although there are certain obstacles, like problems choosing a typeface, students acknowledge that Canva has a big influence on their writing and creativity. Canva is a useful tool for improving students' narrative retelling skills and encouraging successful communication in the digital age, according to the study's conclusion. Future research should look into qualitative investigations, comparative analyses with other digital tools, longitudinal studies, and teacher perspectives on incorporating Canva into writing instruction. This study researched by students of the Department of English Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan, State Islamic University of North Sumatra adds to our knowledge of technology-enhanced learning in writing instruction and highlights Canva's potential in helping students write better retelling texts.

Abstract

Advertising is one of the factors that support the increase in sales volume. Advertising is very influential on sales volume, each company assumes that the greater the advertising costs incurred will affect the increase in sales. This study aims to examine the effect of advertising costs on sales volume at Dian optical. This study uses a quantitative method, which is of the correlation type and data taken for 2 years starting in 2021-2022 and the calculation uses monthly data consisting of Advertising Costs and Sales Volume. Data collection was carried out using documentation and interview methods. The data analysis used is simple linear regression analysis and significant testing using the t test. The test results using the t test produce a positive and significant effect of Advertising Costs on Sales Volume with t count = 3,791 greater than t table = 2.074 with an error rate of 5%.

Abstract

The importance of early literacy in children's growth and development, focused on Real Work Lecture (KKN) activities in Harjamekar Village, Bekasi Regency. Literacy, especially the ability to read, is very important for the development of critical and creative thinking patterns in children. The implementation method used includes the time and place of implementation, the parties involved, the data collection process, and data analysis. This research highlights the challenge of low interest in reading in Indonesia, especially in the eastern region, and how mobile library programs can play a role in increasing access to literacy. This program involves collaboration between KKN students, the government, mobile libraries and local communities to provide facilities and literacy training. The evaluation results show that this program has succeeded in increasing children's interest and ability to read, as demonstrated by participants' enthusiasm and increased ability to understand and relate to the content they read.

Abstract

DeepL Translators are one form of technology that is developing today. The use of technology has a positive impact on the language learning process. Most students make mistakes in writing. DeepL Translator is a translation machine that can be utilised to help with writing. Therefore, a researcher examined the role of DeepL Translator in the language learning process, especially in writing revision. While there have been several studies on machine translation in writing, few have examined the impact of DeepL Translator on the writing of EFL students who use DeepL Translator. A study conducted with second semester English Language Education students at a university in North Sumatra in 2024 involved 27 students as a sample, with four being interviewed about their use of DeepL Translator in their writing revision. The research design used mixed methods with an explanatory sequential strategy. The study included analyses of writing tasks and interviews. Writing tasks were assessed using SPSS 29 with a paired t-test at the 5% significance level, which showed a significant increase in scores <0.001. The interviews, which were then analysed using the Miles and Huberman interactive approach, showed the positive impact of using DeepL Translator. The students reported improved text quality, better errors, and convenience of use. In addition, DeepL Translator also supported students' writing strategies during revision. The students re-examined and utilised prior knowledge while revising their texts. However, they also noted challenges encountered, especially with specialised terms and different contexts than usual. Although DeepL has improved the quality of their writing, careful review of the translations remains important.

Abstract

In this era of technological advancement, the use of AI tools in education is growing. There is a need to understand how AI can support the learning process and help students overcome challenges, particularly in writing. This study investigated EFL students' attitudes toward the use of ChatGPT as an AI writing tool. The study took a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. Data collection included interviews with five English Education students at UIN North Sumatra who were thought to be the most experienced in order to gather detailed perspectives. The collected data was then analyzed using the thematic analysis technique.The findings revealed that students held positive perceptions. Students emphasized ChatGPTT's usefulness in the writing process and role in overcoming writing challenges. Students found that ChatGPT is effective in providing instant feedback and immediate support for their writing. Chatgpt has benefits in time efficiency, helping in finding topics and developing ideas, increasing vocabulary, and improving grammar. However, there were some challenges such as limited data or knowledge in ChatGPT, which may lead to inaccurate results, as well as creating laziness and potential dependency, and network problem. Based on these findings, it is recommended to use ChatGPT only as a reference or consultation tool only, students should continue to use their critical thinking skills, and ChatGPT answers should be verified with reliable sources. The findings of this study suggest that, while ChatGPT can significantly aid the writing process, educators and students should be aware of its limitations.

Abstract

This study explores the role of the local government in Giriharjo Village, Panggang Subdistrict, Gunungkidul Regency, in controlling stunting, aiming to understand how government interventions can create sustainable and high-quality human resources. Using a qualitative methodology with a descriptive design, the research was conducted in Giriharjo Village, purposefully selected due to the high prevalence of stunting. The research subjects included village officials, medical personnel, and local community members directly involved in stunting prevention programs. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document studies, and then analyzed thematically to identify relevant patterns and themes. The findings indicate that the Giriharjo Village government has implemented various policies and programs focusing on stunting prevention, including allocating funds for health and nutrition programs and raising community awareness through outreach and support. However, the study also revealed challenges such as limited resources and funding that affect the effectiveness of these programs. Recommendations include enhancing outreach efforts, providing training for healthcare workers, and optimizing the use of village funds to support sustainable stunting prevention programs.
