Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that most influence the learning outcomes of analytical mechanics among students at Yogyakarta State University. This research uses a descriptive method with a questionnaire as the data collection instrument. The respondents consisted of 50 students from the Physics Education program at the FMIPA faculty. The results showed that the most dominant internal factor affecting the learning outcomes of analytical mechanics was health, with a percentage of 71%. This indicates that good physical health significantly influences students' ability to understand analytical mechanics. Additionally, the most dominant external factor was the influence of the lecturer, with a percentage of 40%. This reflects the important role of the lecturer in the learning process, including teaching methods, communication, and the motivation provided to students. In conclusion, both internal and external factors play significant roles in determining students' success in learning analytical mechanics.

Abstract

Technological advances encourage the advancement of various aspects of life, including education. This era is synonymous with instant and visual things. So, in order to keep up with the times, the teaching materials used must be able to adjust to the characteristics of current students. Physics students find it difficult to understand Lagrange's mechanical material. Thus, research was carried out to develop 3D-based e-book teaching materials and contextual videos on Lagrange mechanics material which is expected to improve the thinking skills of physics students related to Lagrange mechanics. The method carried out is RnD with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). But. The research only focuses on the Analysis, Design, and Development stages. In addition, a feasibility test was carried out from Physics Education practitioners and 10 samples of Physics Education students. The results obtained show that 3D-based e-book teaching materials and contextual videos are feasible to be used to improve students' understanding of Lagrange mechanics material.

Abstract

This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach to evaluate the validity of physics teaching modules based on Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT). The development method follows the ADDIE model, encompassing the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, including information gathering, module design, testing, and revision. The primary instrument utilized in this study is a validation sheet to assess the feasibility of the CRT-based physics teaching modules. The validity assessment was conducted by two experts using a validation sheet instrument, with the results analyzed through Aiken's V formula. The findings indicate the development of a CRT-based physics teaching module that integrates local ethnoscience relevant to physics concepts and incorporates learning strategies aligned with CRT principles. Validity assessment results demonstrate a high level of validity, confirming the module's feasibility and suitability for implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano in the learning process. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques included field observation, interviews, and document analysis. Primary data sources for this study were teachers, while secondary data included supporting materials such as the school profile, KOSP documents, teaching modules, and school reports. The findings indicated that SMP Negeri 3 Tondano has implemented the Merdeka Curriculum during the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, gradually replacing the 2013 Curriculum. The implementation focuses on project-based learning, differentiation, and the strengthening of the Pancasila Student Profile. Collaboration among teachers, students, and parents, facilitated through the school committee, plays a significant role in supporting the success of the curriculum. Despite challenges such as adaptation from the previous curriculum and limited infrastructure, the school actively addresses these issues through teacher training and the use of technology. With a focused approach and regular evaluation, the Merdeka Curriculum is expected to produce graduates who are skilled, independent, and ready to contribute to the future.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of critical thinking skills in Modern Physics study among students of the Physics Education Program at Universitas Negeri Manado. This method used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. There were 9 students of third - semester participated and the data were collected using an essay test consisting 5 questions designed to measure critical thinking skills. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics to assess the improvement in pretest and posttest scores. The results showed a significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills. The average pretest score of 16.89% increased to 73.56% in the posttest. Statistical analysis showed a significant difference with a p-value < 0.05, indicating that the instructional intervention was effective. Students demonstrated progress in their ability to analyze problems, interpret data, and draw logical conclusions based on evidence. These findings highlight the importance of integrating critical thinking skills into Modern Physics teaching to enhance learning outcomes and students’ analytical abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine students' perceptions of the use of a bio-battery practicum module utilizing coffee grounds in physics education on the topic of renewable energy. The research involved 12 students from SMA Negeri 2 Tomohon as participants. The evaluation instrument consisted of a questionnaire with 11 questions grouped into three primary indicators: module appearance, material presentation, and module benefits. The findings revealed that the module appearance indicator was rated as excellent on three questions (100%, 83.33%, and 100%) and good on one question (66.67%). The material presentation indicator received excellent ratings across all questions, ranging from 83.33% to 100%. Similarly, the module benefits indicator achieved excellent ratings for all questions (100%). Despite these positive results, a few neutral responses were observed on questions concerning the module’s design and illustrations (33.33% and 16.67%) and material clarity (16.67%). Overall, the module demonstrated a high level of effectiveness, with the majority of scores exceeding 76%, placing it in the "excellent" category. These results underscore the significant potential of the bio-battery practicum module as an innovative educational tool to enhance students' understanding of renewable energy concepts at the high school level.

Abstract

TED Learning Strategy (Thematic-Explorative-Democratic) about nature activity in tumimperas waterfall is an example of physics learning process by utilizing the surrounding nature as an object in learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of TED learning strategies in learning physics in nature to improve cognitive abilities. The method used in this research is Experimental research (True Experiment) with the design used Posttest-Only Control Design. This research was conducted through two stages. The first stage is to give treatment (treatment) the application of the TED learning strategy and the second stage is to give a posttest as an evaluation of learning. The samples in the study were students of Physics Education Study Program of Universitas Negeri Manado where the samples were taken randomly and divided into two classes. After obtaining the data, the research results were processed statistically with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 22 for windows. Based on the results of statistical analysis, it shows that student learning outcomes come from a normally distributed population, are homogeneous and the results of the calculation of the t-test hypothesis reject H_0 and accept H_1. so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the physics learning outcomes of students taught by using the TED learning strategy with students taught by not using the TED learning strategy.

Abstract

Teachers' professional competence refers to their ability to master learning materials comprehensively and in-depth, enabling them to guide students in achieving the competency standards set by the national education system. This study aims to analyze the influence of teachers' professional competence on students' interest in learning Physics at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano. Data collection was conducted using observation, questionnaire, and documentation methods. The data analysis results indicate that the coefficient of determination is 0.4773, meaning that 47.73% of students' interest in learning is influenced by teachers' professional competence. Based on regression analysis, the equation Y=93.85+1.29X was obtained. Meanwhile, the remaining 52.27% of students' interest is influenced by other factors. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between teachers' professional competence and students' interest in learning Physics.
