International Journal of Education and Humanities
IJOLEH: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF EDUCATION AND HUMANITIES is a scientific journal published biannually in May and November. IJOLEH seeks to develop knowledge and practice in the three domains of its title (Language, Education, and Humanities) and the relations between them. It welcomes research articles, literature reviews, and position papers dealing with any languages (mother tongues, global English, indigenous, minority, heritage, and endangered languages), as well as any educational disciplines, and Humanities. IJOLEH encourages submissions from a variety of disciplinary approaches. It also opens for studies into cultural content, literacy, intercultural and transnational investigations. To be considered for publication, a manuscript should be written in English and follows the template provided. Submission must be an original and sole work of the author(s). An initial check of plagiarism is encouraged before submitting a manuscript. Authors should first register themselves into the journal system and create submission to initiate the process. The ability to control learning is one that teachers must possess. One of the techniques a teacher should use in the educational process is problem solving. With the use of creative and innovative learning strategies, this article intends to help teachers, in particular, comprehend how to build information in a methodical manner. In order to give a thorough knowledge and rich perspective on learning processes through problem solving, this method of study uses a descriptive qualitative method to justify the analysis of the literature. According to the findings of this research, problem solving is necessary to help pupils develop their metacognitive and critical thinking abilities. Students are able to build their own potential via problem solving, which shifts their attention away from results alone.. Students' decision-making, critical thinking, and generation of creative and innovative concepts are stimulated by difficulties, which are provided to them. The growth of decision-making, critical thinking, and creative thinking that is innovative leads learners to reflect on their decision-making processes in daily life. Improved teachers' skills and abilities, can generate creative and innovative ideas so that they can identify and analyze the problems faced by the students. In order to identify and analyze problems, a teacher needs to implement strategies in solving them. Problem solving provides solutions in the learning process so that learning is more attractive, teachers in generalization or transfer of learning to pupils. Problem solving enables graduate students to think critically and solve problems in their personal, social and professional lives in order to enter the world of their future business.

Textbooks are a set of learning materials that are arranged systematically and include competencies that will be mastered by students in learning activities. The presence of textbooks is a crucial element in the teaching and learning process, as they serve as a valuable resource for both students and educators at all levels of education. This research aims to analyze the students’ needs in developing English textbooks to improve high abilities level of law students. This type of research used descriptive qualitative. The research method is a survey through interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, for this reason, a needs analysis questionnaire was given to 56 students to obtain information about their needs in English at the Faculty of Law of Universitas Prof.Dr. Hazairin SH. The results of the data analysis reveal the importance of English textbooks, specifically in the field of Law (English for Specific Purposes). In this case, language skills and reading were more emphasized. Thus, it is concluded that based on the results of the Analysis of textbooks for lecturers, there is a very high need for books with unique characteristics as teaching materials that are suitable for learning English for academic purposes for the Faculty of Law in accordance with ESP principles.
