Abstract

ABSTRACT[Identification of Soil Response to Earthquake Waves in Curup and its Implementation on Physics Learning]. Scientific research has been conducted in the Curup in five districts namely Selupu Rejang, center Curup, eastern Curup, southern Curup and Curup city. Curup city is a mountainous area located in the earthquake belt. The aim of research was to determine the level of vulnerability of land in the Curup city and to explain the difference in student learning outcomes XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 2 after participating in learning by using learning model Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Conventional Methods on the material elasticity. Seismic susceptibility index data values obtained from field research using HVSR microseismic tools. Data management using DATAPRO software and GEOPSY software. The result of the highest level of susceptibility to the soil is 4.18 and is located at the maximum temperature of the soil. The results of educational research show that there are differences in student learning outcomes taught with PBL learning models and conventional methods. The experimental class learning outcomes have an average value of 80.70, while the control class has an average value of 73.20. Keywords: Vulnerability; earthquake; PBL model.(Received August 14 , 2018; Accepted January 10, 2019; Published February 27, 2019)  ABSTRAKPenelitian sains telah dilakukan di Daerah Curup di lima kecamatan yaitu Selupu Rejang, Curup Tengah, Curup Timur, Curup Selatan dan Curup Kota pada tanggal 07 Agustus 2016. Kota Curup merupakan daerah pegunungan yang terletak pada jalur gempa. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui tingkat kerentanan tanah di kota Curup dan Untuk menjelaskan Perbedaan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 2 setelah mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dan Metode Konvensional pada materi elastisitas. Data nilai indeks kerentanan seismik diperoleh dari penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan alat mikroseismik HVSR. Pengelolahah data menggunakan software DATAPRO dan software GEOPSY. Hasil tingkat kerentanan tanah tertinggi mencapai 4,18 dan terletak pada kecamatan Selupu Rejang. Hasil penelitian pendidikan menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran PBL dan metode konvensional. Hasil belajar kelas eksperimen memiliki nilai rata-rata 80,70, sedangkan kelas kontrol memiliki nilai rata-rata 73,20.Kata kunci: Kerentanan; gempa bumi; model PBL.

Abstract

 Penelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan penguasaan konsep gelombang cahaya dengan penerapan model Inkuiri berbantuan simulasi PhET. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA E SMA Negeri 2 Kota Bengkulu. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi untuk mendeskripsikan aktivitas guru dan siswa, lembar tes untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan proses sains dan penguasaan konsep gelombang cahaya. Hasil analisis data observasi aktivitas guru siklus I diperoleh skor rata-rata 16,5 (kriteria cukup), pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan menjadi 19,5 (kriteria baik), pada siklus III aktivitas guru kembali meningkat hingga skor rata-rata m encapai skor maksimal yaitu 21 (kriteria baik). Hasil analisis data observasi aktivitas siswa siklus I diperoleh skor rata-rata 17,5 (kriteria baik), pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan menjadi 20 (kriteria baik), pada siklus III aktivitas siswa kembali meningkat hingga skor rata-rata mencapai skor maksimal yaitu 21 (kriteria baik). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata keterampilan proses sains pada siklus I sebesar 64,24 (kriteria cukup), pada siklus II sebesar 79,63 (kriteria baik), dan pada siklus III sebesar 92,96 (kriteria sangat baik). Penguasaan konsep gelombang cahaya pada siklus I sebesar 77,27 (kriteria baik), pada siklus II sebesar 87,04 (kriteria baik), dan pada siklus III 90,74 (kriteria sangat baik). Disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan penerapan model Inkuiri berbantuan simulasi PhET dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan penguasaan konsep gelombang cahaya. Kata kunci: Aktivitas Siswa, Keterampilan Proses Sains, Penguasaan Konsep gelombang cahaya, Model Inkiuiri, simulasi PhET

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan minat belajar fisika siswa dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui model project based learning dan metode penugasan. Penelitian dilakukan di dua kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Kota Bengkulu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Quasi Experiment Research tipe nonequivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yang sebelumnya telah diuji normalitas dan homogenitas diperoleh  siswa kelas X MIPA 4 sebagai kelas uji coba (eksperimen) dan siswa kelas X MIPA 3 sebagai kelas pembanding (kontrol) dengan metode penugasan. Jumlah siswa yang terlibat sebanyak 57 siswa yang terdiri dari 28 siswa dari kelas X MIPA 4 dan 29 siswa dari kelas X MIPA 3. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket untuk minat belajar fisika dan tes untuk kemampuan berpikir kritis. Analisis data menggunakan uji-t dua sample indenpendent dengan rumus t-test poolled varian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan minat belajar fisika dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa antara yang diajarkan menggunakan model project based learning dengan siswa yang diajarkan dengan metode penugasan. Minat belajar fisika dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa meningkat terlihat dari nilai posttest, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model project based learning berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap minat belajar fisika dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.Kata kunci : Model project based learning, minat belajar fisika, kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengetahui perbedaan motivasi berprestasi antara siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan  model Cooperative Problem Solving berbantuan media virtual PhET dan model Cooperative Problem Solving berbantuan media konvensional dan 2) untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah antara siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan  model Cooperative Problem Solving berbantuan media virtual PhET dan model Cooperative Problem Solving berbantuan media konvensional. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan dua desain yaitu desain posttest only control group design untuk variabel motivasi berprestasi dan desain nonequivalent control group design untuk variabel kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 153 siswa kelas X MIPA SMAN 1 Bengkulu Selatan. Pengambilan sampel penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling untuk memperoleh dua kelas: kelas X MIPA 2 yang berjumlah 30 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X MIPA 5 yang berjumlah 31 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Data diperoleh dari tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang berbentuk essay dan angket motivasi berprestasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Tidak terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang signifikan antara siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pemelajaran CPS berbantuan media virtual PhET dan siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model CPS berbantuan media konvensional (2) Tidak terdapat perbedaan motivasi berprestasi  yang signifikan antara siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pemelajaran CPS berbantuan media virtual PhET dan siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model CPS berbantuan media konvensionalKata kunci: Pembelajaran Cooperative Problem Solving, Media Virtual PhET, Motivasi Berprestasi, Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah.

Abstract

One of the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic is forcing teachers and school residents to adjust teaching and learning activities at home. This mentoring activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of SD N 69 Bengkulu City teachers to prepare worksheets that are easy for parents to understand while implementing BDR. This service activity partners are grade 1 to grade 6 teachers of SDN 69 Bengkulu City, class, religion, and health education teachers, totaling 26 teachers. This activity was carried out from August to November 2020 through observational and modeling with four phases, namely: the attention phase, the retention phase, the reproduction phase, and the motivation phase. The instrument used was a questionnaire to measure teacher knowledge about online worksheets and a rubric for assessing teacher skills in compiling online worksheets. Results and conclusions, teacher assistance activities to prepare online worksheets can: (1) Increase teachers' knowledge about online worksheets, especially those related to online worksheets' goals. (2) Improve teacher skills in compiling online worksheets, especially the fourth aspect, namely teachers' skills to collect assessment rubrics per basic subject competence in online worksheets.

Abstract

Textbooks are a set of learning materials that are arranged systematically and include competencies that will be mastered by students in learning activities. The presence of textbooks is a crucial element in the teaching and learning process, as they serve as a valuable resource for both students and educators at all levels of education. This research aims to analyze the students’ needs in developing English textbooks to improve high abilities level of law students. This type of research used descriptive qualitative. The research method is a survey through interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, for this reason, a needs analysis questionnaire was given to 56 students to obtain information about their needs in English at the Faculty of Law of Universitas Prof.Dr. Hazairin SH. The results of the data analysis reveal the importance of English textbooks, specifically in the field of Law (English for Specific Purposes). In this case, language skills and reading were more emphasized. Thus, it is concluded that based on the results of the Analysis of textbooks for lecturers, there is a very high need for books with unique characteristics as teaching materials that are suitable for learning English for academic purposes for the Faculty of Law in accordance with ESP principles.

Abstract

Teaching materials designed using local contexts are important in improving students' literacy skills. The lack of teaching materials to support these skills causes low student literacy achievements in elementary schools. This study aims to design a course book, grounded in the coastal context of Bengkulu, to enhance the literacy skills of elementary school students. The research employs a developmental approach using the ADDIE model, which encompasses five stages: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. The subjects of the study are fifth-grade students from elementary schools in Bengkulu City. The study is conducted in three phases: expert trials, limited trials, and wide-scale trials. Data is collected through both tests and non-tests. The instruments used for data collection include product validity sheets, practicality questionnaires, and literacy test instruments. Descriptive statistical analysis is utilized for data analysis. The result of the research suggests that the course book, based on the Bengkulu coastal context, meets the criteria for validity, and practicality, and effectively enhances the literacy skills of elementary school students. Teaching materials that integrate with coastal contexts have been proven to support students' thinking skills, one of which is mathematical literacy.

Abstract

Penggunaan bahan ajar evaluasi pendidikan berbasis kasus dapat mengakomodasi terjadinya peningkatan keterampilan mahasiswa menyusun instrumen penilaian autentik aspek sikap, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan.Tujuan penelitian tahun pertama, yakni: (1) Mendeskripsikan lingkup materi bahan ajar evaluasi pendidikan, pemahaman awal mahasiswa tentang instrumen penilaian autentik, desain bahan ajar  evaluasi pendidikan berbasis kasus. Metode penelitian ini adalah pengembangan dengan model Analysis, Desain, Develop, Implementation, dan Evaluation (ADDIE). Subyek penelitian adalah mahasiswa S2 Pendidikan Dasar tahun 2023 JIP FKIP UNIB.  Instrumen penelitian lembar analisis dokumen, kuesioner dan tes kemampuan awal. Teknik pengumpulan data member check, observasi dan tes. Teknik analisis data secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian adalah: (1)  tahap analisis untuk memetakan lingkup materi ajar mata kuliah evaluasi pendidikan; dan (2) tahap desain adalah rancangan sistematika bahan ajar evaluasi pendidikan berbasis kasus. Simpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah pemahaman awal mahasiswa menunjukkan nilai tertinggi pada aspek tujuan dan lingkup penilaian hasil belajar aspek sikap/afektif dan pemahaman terendah pada aspek prosedur penyusunan instrumen penilaian hasil belajar aspek pengetahuan/kognitif.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and apply Problem Based Learning (PBL)-based instructional videos using the Canva application and to determine the extent of the improvement in students' process skills on the topic of quantities and measurements, as well as to understand students' responses to the physics instructional videos. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The research subjects consisted of 33 tenth-grade students from class X9 at SMAN 3 Bengkulu Tengah. Product validation by experts indicated moderate to high validity in the aspects of visuals, audio, content, and language, suggesting that the instructional videos are suitable for development. The implementation results showed an improvement in students' process skills, with an N-Gain score of 0.60, categorized as moderate. Students' responses to the instructional media were categorized as very positive, with an average score of 88.44%. This media is expected to provide an innovative solution for more engaging and effective physics learning.

Abstract

Physics lessons are among the most interesting because they relate to actual events. Physics learning requires an independent learning process that equips students with problem-solving skills. This study examines how the Problem-based Learning (PBL) model and the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) strategy affect the resolution of physics issues involving momentum and impulse topics. There are 375 grade XI students participating in a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design. The TaRL technique and the PBL model had a substantial impact on physics problem-solving; there is a significant influence on students' problem-solving abilities and the magnitude of the influence, according to the results of the independent sample t-test, which had a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.001, which is less than 0.05. Cohen's d = 1.08 (high) and the N-gain score was 0.61 (moderate) for the TaRL method and PBL model, respectively.
