Abstract

Background: Lower back pain is joint among pregnant women, especially in the third trimester, affecting around 70% in Indonesia. This discomfort significantly impacts daily activities and quality of life. Endorphin massage, a light touch technique that stimulates the release of the body's natural pain-relief hormones, and warm compresses, which use heat to reduce pain, are two methods to address this issue. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of these methods on lower back pain intensity in third-trimester pregnant women. Using a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test post-test approach, 15 pregnant women were selected from a population of 51 through purposive sampling. Pain intensity was measured on the first and third days using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Results showed a significant reduction in pain intensity, from an average of 5.40 before the intervention to 1.60 after. A paired sample T-test yielded a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant effect of endorphin massage and warm compresses on reducing lower back pain in third-trimester pregnant women at the Karikil Community Health Center Work Area

Abstract

One of the benchmarks for the success of a country's development is improving the quality of life, which is one of the main prerequisites in developing human resources (HR). One of the causes of the high maternal mortality rate is because the mother experiences obstetric complications. Complications of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum are conditions that cause health problems in pregnant women, mothers giving birth, mothers in the postpartum period, or fetuses in the womb. This condition can occur directly or indirectly, including due to infectious or non-infectious diseases that have the potential to endanger the lives of the mother and fetus. Talango Health Center itself has a tourist post. The Tourist Post (integrated movement to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality) is a new innovation carried out by the Talango Health Center. This innovation is carried out by village representative cadres in Talango sub-district, each village appoints 2 cadres as representative cadres, the 2 cadres will become coordinators for the cadres in their village. Each cadre monitors high-risk pregnant women, babies and postpartum mothers to ensure that the condition of the mother and baby can reduce the risk of maternal and neonatal mortality. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the tourist guard program on the incidence of obstetric complications. This type of research is an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional design . The independent variables in the study include the tourist guard program which includes assistance for pregnant women, pregnancy classes, postpartum visits and transportation. While the dependent variable in this study is the incidence of obstetric complications. The population in this study were all fertile couples in the Talango Health Center work area totaling 6910 people. The sample size used a cross-sectional sample size of 73 people with a simple random sampling technique. The bivariate analysis in this study used a simple regression test. The results of the simple regression test between assistance for pregnant women, pregnancy classes and postpartum visits with the incidence of obstetric complications had a significant effect. While for the results of the data analysis of pregnant women who received pick-up and drop-off services, there was no effect between receiving pick-up and drop-off services for pregnant women to do ANC with the incidence of obstetric complications. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of the tourist guard program on the incidence of obstetric complications

Abstract

Analog rice is one of the staple food alternatives developed to support national food diversification and reduce dependence on paddy rice. This study aims to analyze the nutritional content of sago-based analog rice and compare it with the nutritional content of white rice (Oryza sativa) in an equivalent portion of 200 grams. Laboratory analysis showed that sago analog rice contains 756 kcal of energy, 174.8 g of carbohydrates, 2.88 g of protein, 5.16 g of fat, and 1.64 g of ash. Meanwhile, in the same quantity, white rice contains approximately 720 kcal of energy, around 156 g of carbohydrates, approximately 13.6 g of protein, and about 1.2 g of fat. The conclusion of this study is that sago analog rice has higher energy and carbohydrate content but significantly lower protein content compared to white rice. Therefore, although sago analog rice has potential as an energy source and utilization of local food resources, reformulation with protein-rich ingredients is necessary to improve its nutritional value. This study supports the development of sago-based analog rice as a strategic food alternative in sago-producing regions, provided that further nutritional enrichment is conducted to make it acceptable as a nutritionally equivalent staple food.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Indonesia is still low (29.5%). The failure of exclusive breastfeeding is influenced by several factors, one of which is self efficacy. Mothers who have a high level of breastfeeding self-efficacy tend to breastfeed until the age of 6-12 months. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of breastfeeding self-efficacy with the success of exclusive breastfeeding in mothers breastfeeding toddlers aged 6-24 months in Bunijaya Village, Cianjur. This research design is analytic correlation with cross sectional design. Data were collected from 70 respondents who were determined based on total sampling technique. The results showed the majority of mothers had high BSE (92.9%), and most mothers breastfed exclusively (97.1%). There is a relationship between the level of breastfeeding self-efficacy with the success of exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.004., CI 95%). Based on the results of this study, it is concluded that there is a relationship between the level of breastfeeding self-efficacy with the success of exclusive breastfeeding in breastfeeding mothers of toddlers 6-24 months in Bunijaya Village, Cianjur. It is hoped that this research can be developed by raising other variables besides breastfeeding self-efficacy with the success of exclusive breastfeeding
