Abstract

This study was conducted to determine how permissive parenting styles can affect self-esteem in women who experience dating violence. Dating violence can occur due to low self-esteem, which can be influenced by, among other things, neglectful parenting styles. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of determining the influence of permissive parenting on the self-esteem of victims of dating violence. The research method used was quantitative with purposive sampling on 150 female students. The instruments used were the Permissive Parenting Scale (a=0.834) and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (a=0.774). The analysis technique used was descriptive and inferential statistics with correlational analysis. The results of this study found a significant influence between permissive parenting and self-esteem (r = 0.341, p<0.01). In conclusion, the higher the level of permissive parenting, the lower the self-esteem.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the phenomenological experience of mothers who developed postpartum trauma through an in-depth analysis of two informants. The findings reveal that the trauma originated from high-risk and unpredictable childbirth processes that evoked intense fear and panicsu ch as RN’s prolonged 20-hour labor that nearly required emergency surgery, and BL’s accelerated delivery caused by sudden hypertension. Following childbirth, both mothers experienced psychological symptoms including anxiety, panic episodes, sleep disturbances, and heightened emotional reactions to infant crying, which interfered with their daily functioning and maternal roles. Their adaptation process was shaped by available coping strategies and social support, with RN seeking professional psychological assistance while BL relied heavily on emotional support from her family. Overall, the study highlights that postpartum trauma is a multidimensional experience requiring comprehensive and integrated mental health interventions for mothers in the postnatal periode.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between attachment style and interpersonal trust among university students working on group assignments. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was employed. The participants were 324 students aged 18–25 years who had prior experience working in groups. Data were collected using Adult Attachment Style (AAS) and Interpersonal Trust Scale (ITS) that had undergone adaptation and reliability testing. Data analysis was conducted using parametric statistical techniques to identify the relationship between the variables. The results indicate a positive relationship between attachment style and interpersonal trust in the context of group work. These findings suggest that attachment patterns play a role in shaping students’ tendencies to trust their peers during collaborative tasks. This study highlights the importance of relational factors in supporting effective group work and provides a foundation for developing learning strategies that enhance positive interpersonal interactions.

Abstract

Academic procrastination is a common problem among university students and can hinder academic achievement. Low self-efficacy and weak ability to face difficulties are assumed to contribute to this behavior. This study aims to examine the influence of self-efficacy and adversity quotient on academic procrastination among students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo. This study used a quantitative correlational design. The population consisted of 8,103 active students, with a sample of 343 students selected using incidental sampling. Data were collected using self- efficacy, adversity quotient, and academic procrastination scales. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that self-efficacy and adversity quotient simultaneously influence academic procrastination, and partially both variables have a negative influence. In conclusion, higher self-efficacy and stronger adversity quotient play an important role in reducing academic procrastination among students.

Abstract

Mining sector employees are vulnerable to work-life imbalance due to 24-hour shift systems and remote locations, which can reduce job satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the relationship between work-life balance and job satisfaction among mining employees at PT Bukit Asam Tbk in Tanjung Enim. A quantitative correlational approach was used with simple linear regression analysis. A total of 70 employees from three mining units were selected using purposive sampling, with self-report scales measuring dimensions of time balance, involvement balance, satisfaction balance, salary, working conditions, promotion, supervision, and coworker relations. Results revealed a positive and significant relationship between work-life balance and job satisfaction, with work-life balance contributing 85.8% to the variation in job satisfaction. These findings imply that organizational policies supporting work-life balance are essential strategies for improving employee well-being and productivity in the mining sector.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of organizational belonging and social support on intrinsic motivation among student organization administrators. The research subjects consisted of 109 students who served as administrators of organizations at a private university in Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through the Intrinsic Motivation Inventory (IMI), Organizational Belonging Scale, and ENRICH Social Support Instrument (ESSI). Multiple linear regression analysis was used to test the predictive contribution of each variable. The results showed that organizational belonging and social support simultaneously explained 45.3% of the variation in intrinsic motivation (R² = 0.453, p < .001), thus accepting the major hypothesis. However, in accordance with the minor hypothesis testing, only organizational belonging had a significant effect (β = 0.652, p < .001), while social support did not have a significant effect in the model (β = 0.031, p = 0.744). Stepwise analysis confirmed that organizational belonging is the strongest single predictor. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening a sense of belonging to increase the intrinsic motivation of organizational administrators.

Abstract

Parental divorce is a family experience that significantly affects adolescents’ psychological development, including emotion regulation and adjustment. This study aimed to examine the relationship between secure attachment and forgiveness in adolescents after parental divorce. A quantitative correlational design was employed. The participants were 62 adolescents aged 12–21 years, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires measuring secure attachment and forgiveness, and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation. The results indicated that most adolescents were at a moderate level of secure attachment and forgiveness. Correlation analysis revealed a positive and significant relationship of moderate strength between secure attachment and forgiveness. These findings suggest that adolescents with secure emotional attachment to their parents are more capable of processing negative emotions, reducing feelings of anger or disappointment, and developing a forgiving attitude toward divorce experiences. Secure attachment acts as a protective factor that supports emotional adjustment and builds psychological resilience. This study highlights the importance of focusing on the quality of emotional attachment in psychological interventions for adolescents after parental divorce and contributes to understanding protective mechanisms that facilitate the development of forgiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to explore in depth the dynamics of Problem-Focused Coping (PFC) in building academic resilience among final-year Psychology students currently composing their undergraduate theses. Final-year students often encounter intense academic pressures manifested in anxiety, research stagnation, and interpersonal conflicts with supervisors. Employing a qualitative approach with an interpretative phenomenological design, this research uncovers the essence of participants' conscious experiences in managing these pressures. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with three informants selected via purposive sampling and analyzed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The results indicate that PFC dynamics represent a transformative process extending beyond technical task completion, creating a mechanism termed "agency ritualism." Active coping strategies such as structured scheduling, the courage to engage in intellectual confrontation, and reference navigation function as "psychological anchors" that restore self-esteem and a sense of self-control from a state of learned helplessness. Psychology students possess a unique "double reflection" capability, wherein they apply mental health theoretical literacy to perform independent cognitive restructuring. The psychological transition moves from an agency crisis phase to coping initiation, eventually reaching resilience integration, where academic obstacles are redefined as catalysts for a growth mindset. This study concludes that success in building academic resilience heavily depends on a student's ability to interpret every small act of problem-solving as a form of self-sovereignty, which ultimately fosters the mental toughness required to face post-campus challenges.
