Abstract

The study of organizational ambidexterity has been the focus of research attention in recent years. Yet, it is important to understand the evolution of research in this field and related trends. This research is expected to identify the gap between developments and trends in the world and developments and trends in Indonesia. In this study, a bibliometric analysis was conducted using 645 articles retrieved from the Scopus database. The results show that researches on organizational ambidexterity are on the rise. United State of America is the country with the most published articles with a percentage of 21% of total top 10 countries publications, while Indonesia has only 14 articles indexed by Scopus in this field. The most productive source or journal in the last five years is Sustainability (Switzerland). Researchers in this area have expanded their focus to new and different topics related to organizational ambidexterity, including sustainability, digital transformation, and entrepreneurial orientation. The findings of this paper can help academics and practitioners to better understand the research development trends in the field of organizational ambidexterity, as well as provide a comprehensive view for future research, especially in Indonesia.

Abstract

In recent decades, the creative economy has become a dynamic and rapidly growing sector globally, as well as in Indonesia. The evolution of consumer behavior in the digital age presents an opportunity for small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to increase market reach, but also entails a challenge in adapting to these changes. Market segmentation becomes more extensive due to the presence of an online marketplace for the sale of goods and services. Online marketplace companies require a competitive advantage to distinguish themselves from similar businesses. The aim of this scoping review was to assess the role of technology in the creative economy in terms of fostering community empowerment and promoting sustainable development. The studies reviewed were chosen from electronic databases specifically Google Scholar and Emerald covering the years 2020 to 2024. The study's findings indicate that technology is essential for bolstering and advancing the creative economy sector, with a particular emphasis on community empowerment and sustainable development. The advancement of technology has facilitated wider entry into global markets, spurred innovation in products and services, and reinforced the conservation and promotion of local cultural heritage. Case studies from different regions in Indonesia illustrate how technology can empower local communities and facilitate inclusive and eco-friendly economic growth.

Abstract

This study aims to review the current literature on sustainable water management strategies in the development of Indonesia's New Capital City (Ibu Kota Nusantara/IKN) in East Kalimantan, with a particular emphasis on the integration of Smart Water Management (SWM) with the smart city concept in creating an efficient and sustainable clean water supply system. Based on the literature review conducted, it reveals that the SWM concept is an important component of the IKN vision for a modern city with the importance of implementing a smart water grid, which includes real-time water quality monitoring and leak detection to optimize water resource management. This technology not only improves efficiency but also supports the development of resilient infrastructure that is able to respond to challenges such as flooding, which is a significant problem in Indonesia. In addition, researchers advocate collaborative efforts between the government, private sector, and civil society to ensure sustainable development and effective water management strategies in the IKN. The results of the study are expected to sharpen the sustainable water management strategies that have been prepared by stakeholders in the development of the IKN and highlight the importance of integration with technology to facilitate the transition to a smart city.

Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) serve as a global framework designed to address pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges, aiming to promote sustainable development and equitable progress worldwide. Higher education plays a critical role in advancing the implementation of these sustainable development goals and exploring how strategies based on Value-Belief-Norm (VBN) theory can influence pro-environmental behaviors among students. This study also seeks to emphasize the importance of higher education in facilitating the transition of values and beliefs in younger generations toward more environmentally responsible behaviors. It aims to empower younger generations to better understand their role in environmental preservation. These strategies could provide an effective approach to empowering higher education in supporting sustainability. This study adopts a literature review method, referring to previous research and current phenomena to analyze the role of VBN theory in promoting sustainability within higher education. Findings indicate that the VBN theory can enhance sustainable behavior among students, leading to improved sustainability performance in higher education. Furthermore, this study contributes to the development of VBN theory by exploring the influence of personality traits on students’ sustainable behaviors. It also offers essential insights into how higher education institutions can develop more effective communication strategies and policies to foster a sustainable environment. These insights are expected to inform the design of strategies that not only enhance student behavior but also help higher education institutions achieve sustainability goals aligned with global SDG initiatives.

Abstract

Community-Based Tourism (CBT) is one of the sustainable strategies that can strengthen local economies through the promotion of localities' distinctive cultural assets. However, a lack of resources and awareness causes many communities to struggle with effectively using their cultural riches. This study explores how CBT can utilize cultural distinctiveness to improve the local economy. Data were gathered through a literature review on community-based tourism, which includes various types of literature on the topic. This study examines how collaboration between government, cultural preservation, and local involvement might help establish sustainable tourism practices. The findings indicate that localities that incorporate their own distinctive cultural legacy into tourist attractions not only attract a greater number of tourists but also offer up additional sources of revenue, particularly for small businesses and craftsmen. Sustainability also depends on collaboration with other parties and proactive engagement in the community. By providing helpful insights into how cultural distinctiveness might promote economic growth through tourism while maintaining cultural preservation, this study offers suggestions for policy to improve the implementation of CBT.
