Abstract

This research explores the effectiveness of credit insurance in empowering MSMEs, which is one of the important sectors in building the national economy. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a case study of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), this research analyses changes in the Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio for MSME loans before and after the implementation of credit insurance. Data was collected from a literature review, reports from the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan/OJK), Bank Indonesia, Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs, and BRI's internal reports. The findings show that the implementation of credit insurance lowered the NPL ratio in BRI's MSME segment from 3.5% to 2.1% over two years, supporting the role of credit insurance as a risk mitigation tool that transfers default risk to the insurance company. These results strengthen the theory of risk mitigation and have practical implications for banks in expanding access to secure financing for MSMEs. A limitation of this study is its focus on one bank, which means the results may not be generalizable across the board. Policymakers and regulators are encouraged to consider policies that encourage wider adoption of credit insurance for MSMEs. This study offers insights into developing effective risk mitigation strategies for the MSME credit sector.

Abstract

The expansion of digital technology has transformed e-commerce, with live-streaming platforms like TikTok becoming popular among Generation Z in Indonesia. Despite their high consumption rates, engaging Gen Z poses challenges for marketers. This study examines the influence of trust, flow experience, and perceived value on purchase intention, with customer engagement as a mediator and deal proneness as a moderator, using SOR theory. A quantitative method was adopted with 402 Gen Z respondents who use TikTok live-streaming e-commerce in Jakarta. Data collection involved questionnaires analyzed through PLS-SEM and chi-square tabulations. Findings reveal that trust in product does not significantly influence customer engagement, and customer engagement has an insignificant direct effect on purchase intention. However, it partially mediates purchase intention, while deal proneness does not strengthen this relationship. Control variables, including transaction frequency, gender, viewing duration, and occupation, showed no significant impact on purchase intention. These results suggest that Gen Z demonstrates prudence in TikTok transactions. Managerial implications highlight the need for e-commerce businesses to adapt strategies to suit Gen Z's characteristics. Enhancing product trust through quality improvements and leveraging trusted broadcasters can boost engagement and purchase intent. Transparent platforms and clear communication of product value during live streams are essential. Prioritizing data analytics to understand customer preferences and mitigate online shopping risks can create a positive shopping experience, driving Gen Z's purchase intention. Interactive content and secure platforms are crucial for fostering trust and loyalty in this demographic.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and digital literacy on the intention of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to adopt Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) to support economic digitalization for community development. Using a quantitative approach, this research examines three primary independent variables: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and digital literacy, and their effect on the dependent variable, which is MSMEs' intention to use QRIS (Y). Data were gathered through a survey of 50 MSME owners in Central Java who have implemented QRIS as a digital payment method. Regression analysis results indicate that both perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have a significant positive influence on the intention to use QRIS. Digital literacy is also found to contribute significantly to MSMEs' interest in using QRIS, especially by enhancing their confidence in technology and reducing technical barriers. The findings suggest that perceived usefulness and ease of use play essential roles in encouraging MSMEs to adopt digital payment technologies. Moreover, higher digital literacy supports MSMEs' readiness to engage in an inclusive digital economy, thereby accelerating community development. These insights provide valuable guidance for policymakers and stakeholders to improve digital infrastructure and literacy, fostering MSME growth through economic digitalization.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia play a crucial role in supporting the national economy, contributing significantly to employment and the gross domestic product. However, many MSMEs have yet to fully leverage digital marketing due to limited digital literacy, restricted access to technology, and uneven infrastructure, particularly in remote areas. With the increasing use of the internet and social media in Indonesia, digital marketing strategies present a promising opportunity for MSMEs to expand their market reach, enhance customer engagement, and strengthen competitiveness. Through a systematic literature review, this study evaluates the implementation of digital marketing by MSMEs, including the use of social media and e-commerce platforms to increase brand visibility and foster more personal interactions with consumers. The analysis reveals that digital marketing enables MSMEs to enhance customer loyalty and reach wider markets at relatively low costs. Nevertheless, limitations in technological capability and low digital literacy remain significant barriers. This study highlights the importance of government support in the form of digital literacy training and equitable technology access to enable MSMEs to optimize their digital marketing strategies. Such support is essential to accelerate MSME digital transformation and improve their business sustainability in the competitive digital marketplace.

Abstract

This study explores the interplay between Social Media Marketing (SMM) strategies and tourists’ intention to visit, mediated by local wisdom, within the framework of Community-Based Tourism (CBT) in Magelang, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative approach, this research gathers data from 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling, targeting active social media users interested in visiting Magelang. The findings reveal that SMM significantly enhances tourists' intention to visit both directly and indirectly via the perception of local wisdom. Local wisdom emerges as a pivotal mediator, fostering cultural authenticity and strengthening emotional bonds with the destination. This underscores its dual role as a cultural preservation tool and a strategic enhancer of destination appeal. The study provides novel insights into the integration of traditional cultural elements into contemporary digital marketing practices. By merging modern technological platforms with rich cultural narratives, this research advances the discourse on sustainable tourism marketing, particularly in underrepresented regions. Implications for policy makers, tourism marketers, and community stakeholders are discussed, highlighting the potential of CBT to foster economic growth, cultural sustainability, and community empowerment.
