Abstract

“Assistance-to-pass” agreements in the civil servant candidates selection process raise legal issues concerning freedom of contract and the requirement that contractual purposes comply with legal norms, morality, and public order. This study aims to examine the validity of “assistance-to-pass” agreements in the civil servant candidates selection process based on the objective requirement of a lawful cause as provided under Article 1320 of the Indonesian Civil Code, as well as to analyze the legal reasoning of the Panel of Judges in Decision Number 21/Pdt.G/2025/PN Mlg concerning the legal status of such agreements. This research employs a normative juridical method using statutory and case approaches, with primary legal materials consisting of the Civil Code and the court decision, supported by relevant legal literature. The findings indicate that the “assistance-to-pass” agreement is void because its purpose and underlying cause contravene legal provisions, morality, and public order under Articles 1335 and 1337 of the Civil Code. Nevertheless, the panel of judges ordered the return of the plaintiff’s funds because the defendant retained them without a valid legal basis. The decision confirms that an unlawful agreement does not justify the retention of another party’s assets.

Abstract

Health services are a fundamental component of human rights and require a legal framework that protects patients while providing legal certainty for medical personnel. This study analyzes the regulation of legal protection for medical personnel in alleged medical malpractice disputes, examines the limits of their legal liability when professional standards are met, and proposes an ideal model of legal protection and dispute resolution under Indonesian health law. This study employs a normative juridical method using statutory, conceptual, and analytical approaches. Legal materials consist of primary, secondary, and tertiary sources analyzed through qualitative descriptive-analytical methods and legal interpretation. The findings show that legal protection is established through preventive mechanisms, including professional standards, service standards, Standard operating procedures, informed consent, ethics, and professional discipline, and repressive mechanisms involving disciplinary proceedings, mediation, restorative justice, and litigation. Medical personnel should not be held liable solely because of adverse outcomes when they have met professional standards. The ideal model emphasizes balance, professional accountability, legal certainty, and restorative justice, with criminal proceedings as an ultimum remedium. This approach can strengthen patient protection while preventing unjustified criminalization of medical personnel.

Abstract

Digital transformation involves WhatsApp Business for digital marketing and QRIS for digital payments. This study analyzes the role of digital transformation in improving the performance of micro, small, and medium enterprises. This study uses a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using SWOT, IFAS, and EFAS matrices. The results show that the use of digital technology has a positive impact on improving MSME performance, particularly in increasing business turnover, customer numbers, and transaction efficiency. Business actors using QRIS have an average daily turnover of IDR 1,000,000 to IDR 2,000,000 with approximately 50-80 customers per day, while those who do not use QRIS earn around IDR 500,000 to IDR 1,000,000 with 25-50 customers per day. The IFAS and EFAS results indicate that it has a strong internal position (2.79) and a highly favorable external environment (3.06), with strengths and opportunities outweighing weaknesses and threats. The SWOT analysis indicates that the business development strategy lies in the aggressive strengths-opportunities quadrant, meaning that the business possesses strong internal capabilities and significant external opportunities for expansion. Therefore, digital transformation plays an important role in improving the competitiveness and sustainability of MSMEs.

Abstract

The Sapuh Leger Ritual is an important Balinese Hindu tradition performed for individuals born during Wuku Wayang, yet its continuity amid social change requires further examination. This study analyzes the ritual’s foundations, explains its implementation process, and examines its impacts on the religious practices of the Hindu community in Bungkulan Village, Sawan District, Buleleng Regency, Bali. This study employed a qualitative research design with a case study approach. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature review, and analyzed using data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that Sapuh Leger is founded on Hindu teachings, customary law (dresta), and local cultural values reflected in Tri Hita Karana. Its implementation includes preparation, determination of dewasa ayu, ceremonial preparation, panglukatan, Wayang Sapuh Leger performance, and closing prayers. The ritual strengthens religious confidence, psychological reassurance, social solidarity, cultural transmission, and the preservation of local heritage. Despite technical adaptations, its essential religious meanings remain preserved. The study concludes that Sapuh Leger remains a relevant religious, social, and cultural institution through adaptive continuity.

Abstract

Islamic banking requires disclosures that reflect both sustainability and Sharia principles. This study examines the effect of ESG and CSR disclosure on firm value, with good corporate governance as a moderating variable, in 14 Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia from 2020 to 2024. The analytical method used is panel data regression with the Random Effect Model approach and Moderated Regression Analysis on 65 observations. The results show that ESG and good corporate governance have no significant direct effect on firm value, while CSR has a positive and significant effect. The moderation test shows that good corporate governance has not been proven to strengthen the influence of ESG or CSR on firm value. This finding indicates that the firm value of Islamic commercial banks is more influenced by specific social responsibility disclosures that reflect the social characteristics of Islamic banking, such as zakat, qardhul hasan, and ZISWAF, compared to more general ESG. This indicates that investors in Islamic bank stocks tend to place a higher value on social responsibility information that aligns with Sharia identity and principles, compared to sustainability information that is conventional and not specific to the institutional context of Islamic banks.

Abstract

Women’s empowerment through community organizations offers a strategic pathway for improving family welfare in Indonesia. Yet, few studies examine how Islamic women’s organizations integrate religious education with economic programs at the city level. This study examines the role of Fatayat NU in empowering women in the fields of Islamic education and economy to improve family welfare in Cirebon City, West Java. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with the branch chairwoman and members of Fatayat NU Cirebon City, and documentation, and were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing with verification. The findings show that Fatayat NU organizes monthly religious study forums, Qur’anic recitation completion gatherings, entrepreneurship training, sharia financial literacy education in partnership with the financial services authority, and an organizational catering enterprise. These programs operate against persistent gaps in education and economic participation among married women in Cirebon. Their implementation strengthens members’ religious knowledge, self-confidence, and productive capacity, which supports household income and family welfare. The study recommends wider outreach to pre-prosperous women beyond the current membership and stronger partnerships with local government and financial institutions.

Abstract

This study was motivated by prolonged outpatient service waiting times, which have contributed to lower patient satisfaction. Therefore, lean management, with waiting time efficiency as a mediating variable, is expected to improve patient satisfaction. This study aimed to analyze the effect of lean management implementation on patient satisfaction through waiting time efficiency as a mediating variable in outpatient services. The study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The population consisted of outpatient patients, with 262 respondents selected using accidental sampling. Primary data were collected through questionnaires, while secondary data were obtained from the hospital’s electronic medical records regarding service waiting times. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to examine direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results showed that lean management significantly affected waiting time efficiency, lean management significantly affected patient satisfaction, and waiting time efficiency significantly affected patient satisfaction. Furthermore, waiting time efficiency significantly mediated the relationship between lean management and patient satisfaction, indicating partial mediation. These findings suggest that lean management can improve patient satisfaction directly and indirectly through enhanced waiting time efficiency, providing a basis for hospital service improvement policies and continuous quality improvement.

Abstract

The phenomenon of low financial statement quality in a number of local government agencies, including Regional Work Units under the Health Office of DKI Jakarta Province, underlies the importance of this study. This study aims to analyze the effect of internal control, governmental accounting standards, human resource competence, and the utilization of information technology on financial statement quality, as well as the impact of financial statement quality on performance accountability. A quantitative survey of 99 purposively selected expenditure treasurers, revenue treasurers, and accounting staff from 44 Community Health Centers in DKI Jakarta was analyzed using SEM-PLS with SmartPLS 4. The results show that internal control, governmental accounting standards, and human resource competence each have a positive and significant effect on financial statement quality, while the utilization of information technology has no significant effect. Furthermore, financial statement quality has a positive and significant effect on performance accountability. These findings imply the importance of continuously strengthening internal control, complying with governmental accounting standards, and developing human resource competence, as well as the need for derivative regulations that encourage the integration of information technology in the preparation of government financial statements.

Abstract

Marriage is an important developmental task in early adulthood, yet many young women experience anxiety when considering marriage and its associated responsibilities. Emotional maturity may help individuals regulate emotions, manage uncertainty, and respond adaptively to marriage-related demands. This study aimed to examine the ef association between emotional maturity and marriage-related anxiety among unmarried working women in early adulthood in the Jabodetabek area. A non-experimental quantitative approach was employed using purposive sampling. Data were collected through an online questionnaire from 407 unmarried women aged 20–35 years who worked in Jabodetabek. Emotional maturity was measured using the adapted emotional maturity scale, while marriage-related anxiety was measured using the marriage anxiety scale. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression in IBM SPSS Statistics version 22. The results showed that emotional maturity was significantly and negatively associated with marriage-related anxiety (B = -0.183, p < 0.001). The R-square value of 0.848 indicated that emotional maturity explained 84.8% of the variance in marriage-related anxiety. These findings suggest that higher emotional maturity is associated with lower marriage-related anxiety. Strengthening emotional maturity may therefore support psychological readiness for marriage among working young adult women.

Abstract

Women’s representation in film is closely connected to cultural constructions of femininity, caregiving, and gender expectations. Sore: Istri dari Masa Depan presents Sore as a woman who attempts to transform her husband’s unhealthy lifestyle while repeatedly providing physical and emotional care. This study aims to analyze the representation of women as caregivers through the concept of nurture and examine how Sore reflects the cultural reality of Indonesian women. A qualitative approach was employed using Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis of denotation, connotation, and myth, supported by Stuart Hall’s representation perspective. Data were obtained through repeated observation of selected scenes, dialogues, visual elements, and interactions involving Sore and Jonathan. The findings indicate that Sore is constructed as a caring, attentive, and responsible woman who manages Jonathan’s health, daily needs, and emotional well-being. However, her caregiving also reveals emotional exhaustion and an unequal burden of responsibility. At the same time, Sore demonstrates agency by making decisions and initiating change. The study concludes that the film simultaneously reproduces traditional expectations of women as caregivers while negotiating these expectations through female agency and shared relational responsibility.
