Abstract

This research was conducted by teachers in order to improve the quality of learning in Social Studies learning outcomes that are lower than other subjects. Researchers designed Social Studies using a model of inquiry to determine the effects on student learning outcomes of Social Studies at class VIA of SDN 18, Koto Tangah , Sungaipua district, Agam, West Sumatra. This research aims to show up the  effect of inquiry learning model to the results of Social Studies in elementary school student of SDN 18, Koto Tangah , Sungaipua district, Agam, West Sumatra on the basic competence of Understanding the Natural Phenomenon Occurring in Indonesia and its surrounding. The research had the dependent variables related to the learning outcomes of Social Studies and the independent variables related to the inquiry learning model. The research design was Classroom Action Research. Research subjects were 22 students. Data collecting instruments used the form of test results of Social Studies (pre test and posttest). Results of this research are; inquiry learning model has a positive effect on student learning outcomes of Social Studies at class VIA of SDN 18, Koto Tangah , Sungaipua district, Agam, West Sumatra. Inquiry learning model is expected to be disseminated to teachers to be used in accordance with the requirements and can be used as an alternative repertoire of knowledge in the use of learning model that will be applied in the process of learning Social Studies in elementary school. This research is expected to be used as a reference for other teachers for the next research.

Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengungkap Interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran dan sikap belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini dikategorikan pada penelitian eksprimen dengan sample berjumlah 49 orang. Teknik pengujian hipotesis adalah Analisi of Varians (ANOVA) dua jalur. Hasil Penelitian Menunjukan tidak terdapat interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran dengan sikap belajar terhadap hasil belajar Ekonomi siswa.

Abstract

ABSTRACTCutting woods on the upstream is the main cause of forest damage. Thisactivity is done continuously by the people for firewood and timber. The area thathas damaged is not only at the upstream but also at the buffer zone of Batang AirDingin River. The damage affects the population of various fish in this area.Concerning this condition, the research was conducted to find out the species offish in Batang Air Dingin river on January to March 2012. The instruments whichare use to catch the fish are net, gill net, disperse net, shock fishing andaccumulator and the sampling technique was purposive sampling. Sampleidentification was conducted in Biology laboratory of STKIP PGRI WestSumatera. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The research foundthat from 544 fishes, there are 19 species which are classified into 10 families.

Abstract

This Research was based on student’s mathematics learning outcome was still under Minimum Achievement Criteria (KKM). The research was aimed at finding out whether student’s mathematical learning outcome by implementing PQ4R strategy was better than student’s mathematics learning outcome by implementing conventional learning at class IX MTsN 1 Pesisir Selatan. This was an experimental research with research result is random to subject. The population was all students at IXMTsN 1 Pesisir Selatan. Sampling classes were class IX.6 as the experimental class and IX.5 as the control class. The instrument was final test with its reliability 0,98. Technique of data analysis used one-tailed t-test. Based on the result of data analysis, it is concluded that student’s mathematical learning outcome by implementing PQ4R strategy was better than student’s mathematics learning outcome by implementing  convensional learning.

Abstract

The general puposes of experiencing math subject to elementary and middle school students are; first preparing the students to face the changing of real life through the thinking rehearsal based on the effective, effisien, honesty, critical, rationale, and logical way of thinking, and second, preparing the students to apply the mental principle of math in their daily life and as basic in learning other disciplines. Regarding to the importance of learning this subject, teacher of math should be able to create an effective teaching learning process to stimulate and to rise students enthusiasm in learning match. One of the strategy that can increase students desire in learning math is PAILKEM (Pembelajaran Aktif, Inovatif, Lingkungan, Kreatif, Efektif, dan Menarik). There is an interactive dialoque between teacher students and students-students, during teaching-learning process.This creates a condusive situation in wich students feel free to discuss their problems in learning math to their teachers and their classmates. At the end, through this strategy, students can increase their ability in learning and it is hoped that teaching learning process will be done in optimal achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to get information about correlation between constructivismapproach with student learning outcomes in basic mathematics lectures. This research uses a descriptive method. Participants in this study are biology education students who take the basic mathematics courses amounting to 28 people. The result of this research shows that there is a significance correlation between the constructivism approach with student learning outcomes in basic mathematics lectures.  Keywords: Constructivism Approach, Student Learning Outcomes, Basic Mathematics Lectures

Abstract

Dominasi guru dalam proses pembelajaran menyebabkan kecenderungan siswa lebih bersifat pasif sehingga mereka lebih banyak menunggu sajian guru daripada mencari dan menemukan sendiri pengetahuan dan keterampilan.Dalam proses pembelajaran, guru perlu menimbulkan aktivitas siswa dalam berpikir maupun berbuat.Pendekatan pembelajaran yang akan membuat siswa dapat belajar aktif, seperti pada Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini dengan metode Problem Possingyangmenggunakan soal-soal. Soal-soal yang dapat dibuat oleh guru atau oleh siswa itu sendiri, kemudian soal tersebut diselesaikan oleh siswa itu sendiri atau bersama siswa lain.Dengan membuat atau menyelesaikan soal sendiri, kemampuan siswa dalam menerapkan konsep matematika dapat meningkat.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa efektif metode Problem Possing dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar dan aktifitas siswa Kelas XI IPA 2 di SMANegeri 5 Bukittinggi.  Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah hasil belajar siswa kelas XI IPA 2 di SMANegeri 5 Bukittinggi meningkat pada siklus I dengan nilairata-rata siswa adalah 67,8 dan pada siklus II adalah 77,6.

Abstract

Development of a country not just the responsibility of government alone,every human being contributes to social welfare and community enhancement.The business role is to promote healthy economic growth with environmentalconsiderations are a factor. Now the business is no longer just pay attention to thecompany's financial records alone (single bottom line), but already includes thefinancial aspects, social aspects and environmental aspects of the so-called triplebottom line. Synergy of these three key elements of the concept of sustainabledevelopment (sustainable development). patterns of partnership (partnership) withall stakeholders to play a role in development, while improving its performance inorder to continue to survive and even thrive into the compa pany that is able tocompete. These efforts can be generally referred to as corporate socialresponsibility or corporate citizenship and is intended to encourage more ethicalbusiness world in carrying out its activities so as not to influence or a negativeimpact on society and the environment, so that eventually the business will beable to survive in a sustainable manner to obtain economic benefits the main aimof the business world.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar matematika antara yang menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning dengan yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa kelas XI IIS MAN Model Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi experiment). Populasi penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IIS yang terdiri dari 5 kelas berjumlah 182 orang. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IIS.2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IIS.3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes dan selanjutnya dianalisis dengan uji t-test. Hasil analisis menyimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh penggunaan model discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar matematika pada pokok bahasan Matriks.  Kata kunci: hasil belajar, discovery learning, matematika
