Abstract

Learning resource availability was still focused on abstract concepts without integrating them with students' daily experiences. This appears since the ethnochemistry approach implementation in universities is still rarely conducted.  The purpose of this study is to analyze the relevance of Sasak and Java local wisdom with chemistry and explore the potential of Sasak and Java local wisdom as a learning resource in basic chemistry courses. The data collection instruments were observation, interviews, and documentation. In analyzing the data, the researcher used the Spradley data analysis technique. The instruments were chosen based on their suitability with the type of data to be analyzed. Furthermore, the data analysis techniques consist of four stages, namely;(1) domain analysis; (2) taxonomic analysis; (3) componential analysis; and (4) cultural themes analysis. Based on the research findings, it proved that the local wisdom of Sasak and Java, which consists of cultural products and local wisdom values in Sasak and Java culture, has relevance to chemistry material that can be used as a learning resource. Research conclusions include: (1) The relevance of Sasak and Java local wisdom with basic chemistry material can be reviewed based on the perspective or analogy approach, representation, and visualization; and (2) the potential of Sasak and Java local wisdom as learning resources in basic chemistry courses includes three subjects, namely: material and its changes, the periodic system of elements, and chemical bonds integrated with Sasak and Java local wisdom

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas modul yang dikembangkan untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa, mengetahui keunggulan dan kelemahan modul dan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan modul. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan dan desain penelitian untuk menguji efektifitas adalah one group pre-test and post-test design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X Peminatan MIPA SMA N 1 Peusangan dan kelompok sampel ditentukan dengan teknik random sampling. Data yang dikumpulkan dari penelitian ini adalah data penilaian modul oleh ahli materi, ahli media, guru dan siswa, data pengukuran minat belajar siswa sebelum dan setelah pembelajaran dengan modul, data hasil observasi kegiatan pembelajaran siswa dan informasi dari hasil wawancara dengan guru tentang pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan modul. Efektivitas modul ditentukan melalui uji statistik t berkorelasi untuk gain rata-rata minat belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara minat belajar siswa sebelum dan setelah penerapan modul. Analisis terhadap keunggulan dan kelemahan modul didapatkan bahwa modul dapat menciptakan pembelajaran aktif dengan pendekatan ilmiah bagi siswa tetapi harus didukung oleh peran serta guru dan kelengkapan fasilitas sehingga proses pembelajaran dapat terlaksana dengan baik. Tingkat keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan modul adalah sangat baik.

Abstract

The ability of students to understand and use concepts is the main key in scientifically explaining various chemical phenomena in nature. This ability develops relatively, often with the development of the learner level. This study aims to understand the level of understanding of the concept of salt hydrolysis of class XI high school students and chemistry students in the I, II, III and IV years and non-chemistry students with a total sample of 875 respondents. The instrument used in this study was a four-level multiple choice test. This diagnostic test combines the measurement of knowledge and reasoning with the level of self-confidence, as a reflection of the level of mastery of concepts. The data analysis technique used is quantitative, using SPSS 25 software, namely the non-parametric test (Kruskal Wallis test), comparing the significance value (Asmp. Sig) with a probability of 0.005. The results showed that the significance value of 0.00 was less than 0.05; That is, there is a significant difference in the level of understanding of the salt hydrolysis concept of students. The level of understanding of the concept of high school students is better than the first, second, third, and fourth year students in chemistry and non-chemistry students. These findings reinforce the story that although students have experienced learning experiences at a higher level, it does not guarantee the development of mastery of understanding the concept of hydrolysis

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian pengembangan hand-out materi larutan berintegrasi nilai religi untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan hand-out konsep larutan berintegrasi nilai religi, mengetahui tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap hand-out, mengetahui kualitas hand-out berdasarkan penilaian para ahli. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian dan pengembangan (RD) dengan model ADDIE. Uji coba dilakukan di SMA Muta’allimin Aceh Besar dengan melibatkan 15 orang siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat siswa secara keseluruhan sebelum penggunaan hand-out rata-rata sebesar 60,48% setelah penggunaan hand-out meningkat menjadi 69,59%.  Hasil minat siswa per indikator diperoleh bahwa rasa senang sebelum penggunaan hand-out sebesar 63,59 setelah penggunaan hand-out sebesar 71,79%. Indikator perhatian sebelum penggunaan hand-out sebesar 65,19% setelah penggunaan hand-out sebesar 75,56%. Indikator keterlibatan sebelum penggunaan hand-out sebesar 73,33% setelah penggunaan hand-out sebesar 78,10%. Indikator ketertarikan sebelum penggunaan hand-out sebesar 41,48% setelah penggunaan hand-out sebesar 54,07%. Nilai N-Gain yang diperoleh dari indikator rasa senang sebesar 22,52%, indikator perhatian sebesar 29,79%, indikator keterlibatan sebesar 17,89 dan indikator ketertarikan sebesar 21,51%. Indikator perhatian tergolong kategori sedang, sedangkan indikator rasa senang, keterlibatan dan ketertarikan tergolong kategori rendah. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan minat siswa meningkat setelah penggunaan hand-out berintegrasi nilai religi.

Abstract

Learning during the COVID-19 pandemic has an impact on students’ learning outcomes. Observation results in SMP 2 Dawe Kudus showed that students’ learning outcomes in science subjects are still low. This school was chosen because of the location of the school in remote areas which resulted in not optimal use of digital devices for assessment in learning.  The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics, feasibility, and profile of learning outcomes using digital science scrapbooks as authentic assessment to measure the learning outcomes of junior high school students on the theme of Additives and Addictive Substances. This study used a Research and Development (RD) design with ADDIE model. The science digital scrapbook as an authentic assessment developed in this study was declared feasible to use based on the assessment of material experts and evaluations. The reliability coefficient values obtained from small-scale tests for essay questions, attitude assessment instruments, and skills assessment instruments were obtained 0.62; 0.84; and 0.38. Students’ learning outcomes measured using a digital science scrapbook as an authentic assessment showed 83.3% of students were complete in the realm of knowledge, 100% completed in the realm of attitudes, and 100% completed in the realm of skills. The conclusion of this study is science digital scrapbook as an authentic assessment developed in this study was feasible to be used to measure the learning outcomes of junior high school students on additives and addictive substances concept

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model think pair share (TPS) terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan pemahaman konsep kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Penelitian dilakukan di SMAN 1 Kluet Utara dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan purposive sampling yaitu berdasarkan kriteria tertentu. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pretest dan posttest untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan pemahaman konsep. Data dianalisis menggunakan software Microsoft Office Excel dan uji t (2-pihak). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) terdapat perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis secara signifikan antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan model TPS dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan metode konvensional (thit = 3,708; α = 0,05), (2) terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep secara signifikan antara siswa yang belajar menggunakan model TPS dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan metode konvensional (thit = 3,273; α = 0,05).

Abstract

College students are often considered as adult humans so that when learning science, the use of interesting media is not noticed. Quality science learning can form college students who have scientific literacy and high democratic attitudes which are very important in the 21st century. The solutions that can be used to solve these problems is the macromedia flash learning media. This study aims to determine: 1) the effect of macromedia flash on scientific literacy; 2) the influence of macromedia flash on democratic attitudes; 3) the effect of macromedia flash on scientific literacy and democratic attitudes of college students simultaneously. This study used a quasi experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The study population was all PGSD Semester IV students of Ahmad Dahlan University. Sampling with cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected by tests and questionnaires. Analysis of research data using t and manova test. Based on the results of the study obtained both t and manova tests, the significance value is smaller than 0.05, so it can be concluded that: 1) there is an effect of macromedia flash on scientific literacy; 2) there is an effect of macromedia flash on democratic attitudes; 3) there is an effect of macromedia flash on scientific literacy and democratic attitudes of college students simultaneously.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan KPS terintegrasi antara mahasiswa prodi pendidikan biologi, kimia, fisika pada tahun 2015, 2014, dan 2013; perbedaan KPS terintegrasi antar mahasiswa prodi pendidikan biologi, kimia, fisika dengan prodi pendidikan matematika. Populasi penelitian ini berjumlah 813 mahasiswa dari tahun 2015, 2014, dan 2013. Sampel  penelitian ini berjumlah 360 mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah soal tes KPS terintegrasi dan wawancara tertutup. Teknik analisis data menggunakan avova one way dan t-test.  Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis Ha (1) dengan anova one way, Fh Ftab yaitu  0,97 3,04 pada taraf 5% menunjukkan tidak adanya perbedaan KPS terintegrasi antara jurusan kimia, fisika, dan biologi. Matakuliah  praktikum saja tidak cukup meningkatkan KPS mahasiswa tanpa adanya indikator yang dirancang dalam setiap praktikum mahasiswa. Uji Ha (2) dengan uji t-test diperoleh  t hit - ttab (-8,44 -5,194), Ha diterima maka ada perbedaan antara jurusan fisika, kimia, dan biologi yang memiliki mata kuliah praktikum dan matematika yang tidak memiliki mata kuliah praktikum.

Abstract

The multimedia use of learning media in elementary school in Soppeng district has not been made up for because 56,4% teachers still using on textbooks as learning media. The purpose of this study was to develop science learning media using powtoon in elementary schools. This study uses a type of development research, namely research and development. The product developed in this study is a learning media based on natural science material about ecosystems for fifth grade. The theme chosen is theme 5 sub-theme 1 learning 1. This research was carried out in 3 schools located in Lilirilau District, Soppeng Regency including SDN 254 Mappatongai, SDN 125 Marale, SDN 112 Burecceng. The subjects of this study were the fifth grade students, totaling 21 students. The data collection procedure was carried out based on the 5 steps of the ADDIE model. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and media validation. The data obtained were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results of this study resulted in a product in the form of Powtoon based learning media. The results of the validation test by material experts with an average percentage of 95.25% in the very valid category, the results of validation by media experts with an average percentage of 93% in the very valid category while the average feasibility test obtained 75% in the feasible category. The learning media developed is suitable for use by teachers and students as learning media

Abstract

Redox reaction matter which seems to be abstract makes students of X science grade difficult to understand the concept. Therefore, student-centered learning using teaching matter which has analyzed students’ character or as known as scientific-based approach LKPD is necessary. This research aimed to identify the students’ cognitive results after learning redox reaction matter using a scientific-based approach LKPD. The research was done at SMAN 1 Dukupuntang, Cirebon in the 2016-2017 school year using pre-experimental method with one-shot case study research design. The sample was students of X science 2 grade. The data collection was done via a questionnaire. The analysis technique was quantifying the result percentage before and after using LKPD. This research served LKPD data which involved learning activities such as (a) observing, (b) asking, (c) collecting the data, (d) associating, and (e) communicating whichstimulatedstudents to learn redox reaction matter actively. The pretest result showed that the students’ completeness percentage was 66,67% while the protest result using LKPD showed that the percentage increased to be 86,67%. The conclusion was using a scientific-based approach LKPD on redox reaction matter was successful to enhance students’ cognitive learning outcomes and fulfill the minimum completeness criteria (KKM)
