Abstract

The logistics industry is required to be able to carry out operational processes efficiently, quickly, and accurately to meet the increasingly complex needs of goods distribution. PT Logistik Indonesia Palembang Branch as a cement distribution service provider faces several operational constraints, such as long fleet repair times, a high risk of work accidents, errors in cargo calculations, and administrative processes that still rely on manual activities. This study aims to analyze the operational process of cement delivery and design process improvements using a Business Process Reengineering (BPR) approach with a flowchart modeling method. The research method is carried out through observation, interviews, mapping existing processes, and identifying complaints and success factors. The results show that the implementation of BPR through streamlining process flows, digitizing operational activities, and optimizing fleet and human resource management has the potential to increase operational efficiency, reduce errors, and support improvements in the quality of distribution services.

Abstract

Information systems play a strategic role in supporting data management, information provision, and decision-making processes within organizations. Rapid developments in information technology require a clear understanding of the roles of information systems and the technologies that support their implementation. This study aims to explain the roles of information systems and to identify examples of technologies that support these roles in organizational contexts. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature study by reviewing relevant scientific publications related to information systems and information technology. The results indicate that information systems function as tools for data processing, information integration, and decision support, contributing to improved effectiveness and efficiency of organizational operations. Technologies such as database systems, web-based applications, and decision support systems are identified as key components that support these roles. This study is expected to provide a structured conceptual understanding of information system roles and serve as a reference for organizations and future research in the field of information systems.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh promosi dan kualitas pelayanan terhadap keputusan pembelian konsumen di Samudra Supermarket Madiun. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei terhadap 96 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial promosi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian dengan nilai t hitung sebesar 2,887 dan signifikansi < 0,05. Kualitas pelayanan juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian dengan nilai t hitung sebesar 5,248 dan signifikansi < 0,05. Secara simultan, promosi dan kualitas pelayanan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian dengan nilai F hitung sebesar 64,818 > F tabel 3,094. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,582 menunjukkan bahwa 58,2% variasi keputusan pembelian dapat dijelaskan oleh kedua variabel independen tersebut, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar model penelitian. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan promosi dan kualitas pelayanan mampu meningkatkan keputusan pembelian konsumen di Samudra Supermarket Madiun.

Abstract

The use of information systems in government agencies requires structured architectural planning to align with organizational goals. The Medan City Communication and Information Agency (Diskominfo) still faces problems such as unintegrated information systems, scattered data management, and several administrative processes that are still carried out manually. Therefore, enterprise architecture planning is needed as the basis for targeted information system development. This study aims to develop an enterprise architecture plan for the information system at Diskominfo Medan City using the TOGAF framework with the Architecture Development Method (ADM). The research uses a case study approach through observation, interviews, and documentation studies with the application of TOGAF ADM in Phases A to D. The data used in this study includes business process data, existing information system data, and policy and procedure documents obtained from the Medan City Communication and Information Agency. The results of this study are an information system architecture design that describes the existing conditions (As-Is), proposed conditions (ToBe), and gap analysis as recommendations for information system development within the Medan City Communication and Information Agency.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based flood monitoring and early warning system for several locations in Palembang, which is displayed visually using a Geographic Information System (GIS). The system was developed using the Waterfall method, starting from the requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Water level measurements are taken using HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensors controlled by NodeMCU ESP8266. The information is sent in real time to the Blynk application and sends warning notifications via Telegram according to the specified threshold with a status of risky or safe route. Test results show that the system is capable of displaying real-time water level readings on Blynk and sending Telegram notifications with a delay of approximately 1.0–1.2 seconds. The ultrasonic sensor shows a small measurement difference compared to manual measurements, and the Neo-6M GPS module displays location coordinates with a difference of approximately 1–2 meters. These results indicate that the system can be used to support the monitoring of flood-prone areas and increase community preparedness.

Abstract

The Era of Digitalization, Positioning E-Voting as an Alternative to Information Technology in the Election of the Chairperson of the Student Executive Board (BEM) at Sragen University. As is known, currently the Election of the Chairperson of BEM still uses a manual method so that it is at risk of errors in counting, requires a lot of time, and reduces student participation. This study aims to develop an E-Voting System Based on the PHP Exam Programming Language in the Election of the Chairperson of the Student Executive Board (BEM) at Sragen University. E-Voting is considered easier and more efficient because all processes have been carried out by computers. In addition, E-Voting also simplifies the process of counting votes, because it is done online, the incoming votes can be immediately known without having to count the ballots like the manual election process. Meanwhile, in the process of making and designing a web-based E-Voting System for the Election of the Chairperson of BEM Sragen University, it was built using the Waterfall System Development Method, the PHP Programming Language and using the Exam Database. The e-voting system is expected to improve the accuracy of election results, expedite the vote counting process, and increase student involvement. Furthermore, this system can reduce election costs and increase transparency in the vote counting process.

Abstract

The transformation of the Electronic-Based Government System (EBGS) faces critical challenges in the form of escalating insider threats that exploit governance loopholes. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of audit trails in detecting security anomalies, quantify IT professional ethics compliance, and test the reliability of audit trails as an objective validation instrument in the Indeks KAMI 5.0 assessment. The method used is a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design utilizing a One-Group Pretest-Posttest model. Observations were conducted for 180 days on the XYZ Agency's infrastructure involving 45 IT personnel, utilizing Write-Once-Read-Many (WORM) encrypted Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools. The main results of this study redefine the functionality of log files from a mere reactive forensic instrument into a proxy metric for professional ethical compliance (based on the ACM and IEEE Codes of Ethics). The novelty of this research lies in the formulation of the Ethics and Security Compliance Index (IKEK), a mathematical model that deterministically converts database interaction anomalies into indicators of ethical violations and governance weaknesses.

Abstract

Big Data-based Business Intelligence (BI) systems have evolved into autonomous profiling and decision-making engines, triggering ethical dilemmas and privacy violation risks. This study aims to analyze the intersection between Information Technology (IT) professionalism ethics, BI architectural implementation, and compliance with Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (UU PDP). Utilizing a Design Science Research (DSR) approach combined with a normative-juridical review, this study evaluates software engineering practices through data exploitation case studies in Indonesia. The results indicate that the UU PDP mandate and international codes of ethics demand the proactive adoption of Privacy by Design (PbD) and Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) starting from the requirement analysis phase. As a practical contribution, this research proposes the Ethically-Aligned Business Intelligence (E-BI) framework featuring a five-layer architecture to integrate ethical controls, ensuring BI systems operate fairly, transparently, and respect data subjects' rights.

Abstract

This study applies the Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise (DBSCAN) algorithm to the UK Smoking Survey Dataset from Kaggle (1,691 records, 13 attributes). Preprocessing includes missing value imputation, label encoding, feature selection of 8 features, and StandardScaler normalization. Optimal parameters (eps=2.0; min_samples=15) were determined via K-Distance Graph. Four clusters were identified: Cluster 0 (n=539, male non-smokers, avg. 51.2 yrs), Cluster 1 (n=228, female smokers, 11.9 cig/weekday), Cluster 2 (n=731, female non-smokers, avg. 53.0 yrs), Cluster 3 (n=168, male smokers, 13.5 cig/weekday), and 25 noise points as extreme heavy smokers. Evaluation: Silhouette Score=0.2032, Davies-Bouldin Index=2.0494, Calinski-Harabasz Index=395.68. Results demonstrate DBSCAN’s effectiveness in identifying demographic-based smoking behavior patterns.

Abstract

Inventory and repair management are essential aspects in supporting organizational operational performance. The UPT Workshop of Signal, Telecommunication, and Electricity Unit (Sintelis) at PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 7 Madiun still applies a manual recording system for inventory and repair management, which may cause data inaccuracies, reporting delays, and difficulties in data retrieval. This study aims to design and develop a web-based inventory and repair information system to improve efficiency and data accuracy. The research method used is Research and Development with the Rapid Application Development (RAD) approach, which consists of requirement planning, design workshop, and implementation stages. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results indicate that the developed system is able to manage inventory and repair data in an integrated manner and generate reports automatically. System testing using the black box testing method shows that all system functions operate according to user requirements. Therefore, the developed information system can serve as an effective solution to support inventory and repair management at the Sintelis Unit.
