Abstract

This study aims to determine the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of students as Library Lovers of Gonzaga College High School (PPKG) and the impact felt by students. The method used in this research is qualitative with a case study approach. Determination of informants using purposive sampling technique with a total of 5 informants. Data sources were obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data validity test using source triangulation. The theories used for analysis are Frederick Herzberg's two-factor motivation theory, Janusz Reykowski's prosocial motivation theory, and Clary, et al's volunteer functions inventory (VFI) model. The results of this study show that the motivation most felt by students as library volunteers at Gonzaga College High School Library is extrinsic motivation. This motivation comes from outside oneself and usually there is influence from others, especially from the head of the library as the supervisor of PPKG activities, the existence of healthy interpersonal relationships, reciprocity from the library to the PPKG party, then a safe and healthy workplace, so that this PPKG activity can reduce something negative in its members. Meanwhile, the intrinsic motivation that is felt more than other aspects is that overall PPKG activities have a positive impact on the learning process and learning achievement in class. However, not all felt the impact on their information literacy skills.  .

Abstract

The attitude of librarians in providing services or collaboration between librarians and institutions as well as contributions to libraries is very closely related to the implementation of the librarian's code of ethics. In its implementation, it is known that the librarian code of ethics are rules or norms that must be obeyed by librarians to maintain their dignity, image and profession in providing services to users. This research aims to find out how the librarian code of ethics is implemented, in the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi State Islamic University Library. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The technique used in determining informants is purposive sampling or direct determination. Meanwhile, data collection techniques are through observation, interviews and documentation at the UPT Library of the Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi State Islamic University. The results of this research show that. the implementation of the librarian code of ethics at the UPT UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi Library is not optimal. This can be seen from the fact that several codes of ethics cannot be implemented in accordance with the rules and norms contained in the code of ethics. The obstacle faced is that librarians do not yet realize the importance of implementing a code of ethics in carrying out their duties. Efforts have been made by the head of the library by holding further training or training for librarians so that librarians increase their knowledge and insight into the code of ethics so that they are expected to be able to implement the code of ethics. Meanwhile, the efforts made by librarians are to deepen knowledge regarding the duties and functions of being a librarian and increase skills so that they can improve performance and implement the code of ethics.

They obtained from a total population of 1,323 @usakti_library followers by using the Slovin formula with an accidental sampling technique. Data analysis used a simple linear regression test to test the effect of Variable X and Y. The results showed that there was a significant effect between library promotion through Instagram (X) and Remote Service Utilization (Y), with a significance value of 0‚000 < 0,05 (5%). This is also strengthened by a strong correlation level of 0‚694 on a scale of 0.60 – 0.799. The result of the R Square value is 0‚482. It proves that library promotion influences 48,2% of LDS. The results of this study confirm the uses and effects theory stating that the use of mass media and media content will cause certain effect. In this study, the effect is the increased utilization of LDS. Abstract

Reference services are one of the services available at Open University (UT) Library, and they are widely used to meet the information needs of its users. This research aims to determine the reference service process at UT Library, the process of utilizing these services, and the challenges faced in UT Library reference service. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques are through observation and interviews with subjects, namely librarians, and objects, namely UT Library reference services. The research results show that UT Library has offline reference services in the library, online reference services via specific platforms, and digitally on the UT Digital Library website. UT Library reference services are mainly utilized online and digitally through the library's online database, although offline services are still available in the UT Library building. The three primary services in the UT Library database are OER/SUAKA-UT, RBV, and E-Resources, which can be visited via the https://pustaka.ut.ac.id/lib/ page and the http://repository.ut.ac page. id/ for UT repository. Because UT Libraries prioritizes their distance services, the challenges come from the uneven distribution of information and network problems in some areas when users access digital services. That is why the distribution of information in UT Digital Library needs to be improved, as well as features that can connect users to librarians directly. This makes it easier for users who want to consult further directly with a librarian.

The sample in this study was 39 students obtained based on the calculation of the Slovin formula with a margin of error of 10%. The criteria for respondents are students who use ChatGPT in helping with schoolwork. The results of this study indicate that ChatGPT has an effect in helping the completion of school assignments of Teuku Nyak Arif Fatih Billingual School high school students. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it is known that the significant value obtained is 0.008 so it can be concluded that 0.000 <0.05 (H_a  is accepted and H_0  is rejected), meaning that there is an effect of implementing the ChatGPT platform in helping students' school assignments. Therefore, ChatGPT helps in providing more relevant answers and reference information and providing a positive response on completing tasks quickly.
