Abstract

Tri Hita Karana is a Balinese philosophy that conceptualizes harmony between Man and God, Man with Man, and Man with the Environment. Hindu Education basically aims to grow, develop and improve sradha (faith) and bhakti (devotion) of students towards Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa through training, appreciation, and practice of Hindu teachings, so that they become Hindu people who are dharmika and able to realize the noble ideals of Moksartham Jagadita. This is very much in line with the objectives of National Education, as stated in the National Education System Law No. 20 of 2003. Thus, the Tri Hita Karana philosophy can contribute to the goals of Hindu Education in particular and the goals of National Education in general. Keywords:implementation, Hindu Religious, Tri Hita Karana

Abstract

The text of Adi Parwa as the first part of the 18 parwa (Asta Dasa Parwa) is one of the parwa literature that is in great demand among observers of Old Javanese literature. How could it not be, the parwa contains various stories behind the occurrence of the Mahabhatara story (the Indian version of the term) which eventually led to a big war written on kakawin Bharathayudha. One part of Adi Parwa's story that is quite well known and is very thick with educational values is the story of Bhagawan Domya who has three students namely Sang Arunika, Sang Utamanyu, and Sang Weda. Each was given a very difficult task to test his loyalty and sincerity in studying Vedic science. There is one important note in the test which is oriented towards how a student is obliged to his teacher who is called "guru susrusa". The task given by Bhagawan Domya describes an initiative to strengthen a student's mental and spiritual pursuit of knowledge. To prove this, the loyalty of the three of them is tested in sacrifice, understanding the rights and obligations of a student, and the value of a teacher's gift. Today, this aspect is important to strengthen the position of teachers and students in shaping the quality of education and the outcomes of education itself. Keywords: Adi Parwa; Master Susrusa; Character building

Abstract

Geguritan Nengah Jimbaran as a material object in this study is a traditional Balinese literary work written by Cokorda Mantuk Ring Rana. This study uses a qualitative approach that focuses on finding the meanings of religious moderation in the Geguritan Nengah Jimbaran text. The hermeneutic method is applied to understand and interpret the meaning and intention of Cokorda Mantuk Ring Rana in his writing. Based on the analysis carried out at Geguritan Nengah Jimbaran, it shows Balinese people are indeed dominated by Hindus but they have a great tolerance and are able to live harmoniously side by side among different faith during the reign of Cokorda Mantuk Ring Rana. It can be concluded that religious tolerance as one of the spirits of religious moderation has long been present and has become a habit of Balinese people today. Key words: religious moderation, tolerance, Geguritan Nengah Jimbaran

Abstract

In the realm of sociolinguistics, the acquisition of language is one of the important stages in one's linguistic level. Determination of which language is a person's mother tongue is determined in this phase. After going through several advanced phases, one will know various other languages. After learning certain languages in his life, a person will find that there are languages that he does not understand or has never learned before. This language can then be referred to as a foreign language. Foreign languages are very crucial to comprehend according to needs and interests. Foreign languages do not only refer to languages from other countries, but also languages from other regions within a country that are not understood by certain speakers. Foreign language preferences will facilitate the learning process as a linguistic provision that can increase competence to be able to face the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.Key words: sociolinguistics, language acquisition, foreign language preference

Abstract

This study of literary ecology is one that was inspired by the current damage to the environment. The literary critique in a collection of environmental stories and how each character in those stories interacts with the environment are some of the research's limits. The literary analysis in this qualitative study employs an ecocritical approach. The data was derived from a collection of Balinese folktales called “Cerita Lingkungan Hidup Rakyat Bali” compiled by Nyoman Suarjana (1998). Following collection, the data is analysed in two stages: the first stage involves data identification, categorization, interpretation, and description; the second stage involves data verification, assessment, and conclusion. The findings of this study demonstrate that forest destruction dominates ecological harm in this short stories. As in the narrative I Lubdaka, the story characters' greedy exploits of the forest's resources are typically to blame for the destruction to the forest. Regarding I Swanangkara's attempts to conserve the forest in order to preserve its beauty and viability. Keywords: ecology, ecocriticism, Balinese short story

Abstract

Geguritan is one of the traditional literary works that still exists in the midst of society as a medium for internalizing the teachings of Hinduism contained therein. One geguritan rich in self-control values is Corah's Geguritan Lebur which is a geguritan manuscript in the collection of the Bali Documentation Center. Geguritan is in the form of a pupuh which tells of a giant character who exercises more self-control than the gods. This article reviews in depth the Geguritan Lebur Corah script from the perspective of the values of self-control contained therein. The method used in preparing this article follows the steps of text research in general. According to the study conducted, geguritan melt corah contains the teachings of self-control. This can be observed in several main characters in geguritan who routinely practice yoga in the forest, even though they are giants. Through yoga and self-control, all the impurities that cling to it have been purged, just as the six enemies within oneself have been controlled. The goal of Hinduism, according to Geguritan Lebur Corah, is to achieve moksartham jagadhita ya ca iti dharma, or moksha and the welfare of mankind. It is impossible for humans to attain moksha if they cannot free themselves from karmaphala, or worldly bonds, and from samsara, or rebirth. Keywords: self control, geguritan lebur corah.

Abstract

Language learning has developed along with the development of linguistics theory. Currently, language learning emphasizes the use language in natural setting instead of focusing on linguistics feature such as grammar and vocabulary.  Language learning currently also emphasizes the communicative competence of students. Communicative competence is the ability to communicate directly to exchange ideas, thoughts, and feelings. The paradigm shift in language theory directly changes the language learning paradigm. This paradigm includes methods, approaches and teaching strategies. One approach to language learning that emphasizes communicative competence is contextualized language instruction. Contextualized language instruction is a learning approach that believes that language is closely related to context. The purpose of writing this paper is to look at the syllabus and lesson plans for kindergarten that apply contextualized language instruction in Balinese language lessons. Keywords: Balinese, Contextualized Instruction, Young Learners
