Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) Conducting a research is one of the implementations of Three Pillars of Higher Education that has a crucial role for the development of science, technology, and arts as well as for the improvement of the welfare of society since the research results are directly implemented to the society/community. To spread more significant effect; not only for the society/community but also for more external parties; therefore, Universitas Internasional Batam hold a Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) that is attended by lecturers and students from both domestic and overseas partners to disseminate their research works. Through this conference, the researchers are able to share their knowledge and motivation in the application of sustainable research activities.

Abstract

Education 4.0 is a learning approach that corresponds with the Fourth Industrial Revolution and focuses on reimagining education in light of cutting-edge technology and technologies. The goal of this research is to find out how secondary school teachers perceive about various aspects of Education 4.0. An essential Education 4.0 model was used to organize the empirical study that yielded a literature-based conclusion. In order to attract secondary school teachers, a snowball sampling method was employed. The data for the study came from a set of in-depth, semi-structured interviews and was analyzed using a content-analysis technique. The objective is to implement the foundations of the Education 4.0 revolution in Malaysia's educational system. According to findings, the primary features of Education 4.0 include: open access; customized education; mental transformation; integration of digital technology into education; seamless learning environments; lifelong learning; exploratory education; transdisciplinary learning; and more. Cooperation-communication skills, technology skills, learning skills, and personal traits were identified as top priorities in Education 4.0. Therefore, t he teachers of the Education 4.0 model need to be well-rounded individuals with expertise in technology, mentorship, continuous education, and personality development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh motivasi, pelatihan dan disiplin terhadap kinerja karyawan pada hotel berbintang di Kota Batam. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada karyawan hotel melalui link googleform dan terkumpul sebanyak 320 responden, kemudian dilakukan pengujian data dengan software program SPSS versi 20. Hasil penelitian uji F menunjukkan bahwa nilai sig 0.00, sehingga semua variabel independen secara simultan signifikan terhadap variabel kinerja karyawan. Hasil penelitian uji T menunjukkan bahwa variabel motivasi tidak signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan, sedangkan variabel pelatihan dan disiplin berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor kunci yang dapat mempengaruhi niat reservasi konsumen memesan hotel luar negeri melalui online travel agency. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis SEM-PLS dengan data survei terkumpul sebanyak 354 responden yang memiliki pengalaman mereservasi hotel luar negeri melalui online travel agency. Hasil uji data statistik telah menunjukan bahwa variabel design dan privacy berpengaruh signifikan terhadap website quality. Variabel price value berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perceived value. Variabel website quality, perceived value, brand image, dan electronic word of mouth berpengaruh signifikan terhadap booking intention. Dan Variabel trust berpengaruh tidak signifikan terhadap booking intention.

Abstract

Old Village is a group of houses that functioned as a neighborhood where the original residents of the city of Batam lived before 1970 when Batam was built, which contains historical, local culture and religious values. The city of Batam has a history that is quite unique, when the city of Batam was growing, the original residents were like being eliminated and set in several different areas, the location of the residents of Batam was also mentioned as Old Village, for example Old Village Bengkong Laut. Bengkong Laut Old Village is very much bricked and has different and unique stories. Batam residents is also not familiar with the Old Village in Batam. The purpose of this research is to introduce Old Village to the public using a photobook. This photobook contains a collection of information about Old Village such as traditions, activities, food and the atmosphere of the place. In the process of designing a photobook, the author will use the Adobe Photoshop CC 2020 application to design photoshop. The author uses interview data collection techniques, location observations and also image documentation. The result of the implementation of this research is a printed photobook with a size of 20x20cm which contains photos for the introduction of the Old Village tradition. With this photobook, it is hoped that the people of Batam will know more about its history and add insight to the history of Old Village in Batam.

Abstract

This research aimed to know if leadership style, employee training, intrinsic reward, and extrinsic reward had a significant relationship toward employee motivation. Data collected from 221 respondents who were employees of Tour & Travel Agents in Batam. The sampling method used was purposive sampling which took sample with some consideration. The result shows that all of them have positive significance to employee motivation. Besides, employee training has the greatest amount of significance on employee motivation.

Abstract

Banking companies in a country are the center of a country's financial turnover and have an important role in the economy of a country. This study aims to determine the factors that affect financial distress in banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange using the Z-Score model. High financial distress indicates that companies often experience difficulties in financial turnover. The conclusion from this research is that ETA, NPL and Size have a significant positive effect on financial distress. LLP has a significant negative effect on financial distress. The CAR, CIR, ROA, LADF, Deposit and Auditor Type variables do not have a significant effect on financial distress.

Abstract

Batam City is one of the islands in the Riau Archipelago province with a strategic location. Besides being on an international shipping route, Batam island is also close neighbors to Singapore and Malaysia, which can make a distinct advantage for this island with many foreign tourists who come for vacation, worship and also to know the history of various objects in Batam City, namely Religious tourism related to religion with there are various pagodas, monasteries, and statues that are the main attraction. The design of this photobook is used to promote and also introduce various religious tourism objects in Batam City to local and foreign people by providing some information such as locations, facilities, and also the history of the religious tourism objects. For the development of the collected images, the Adobe Photoshop CS6 application will be used. The research method used is observation and documentation. The final result of this research is to make a Photobook that will be printed with a size of 20 x 20 cm which contains the location, buildings, and also existing facilities of the various religious tourism objects with the aim of increasing visitor interest and adding insight to local and foreign communities. about the history of religious tourism in Batam City.

Abstract

Mobile games have become the alternative coping activity during Covid-19 Pandemic. This situation contributes greatly on student’s addiction level towards mobile games. This research was conducted to find out the impact of mobile games addiction towards depression, social anxiety, and loneliness of students in Batam specifically during pandemic of Covid-19. In this research, we employed quantitative method with the conceptual model from previous researchers. Furthermore, the technique of questionnaire distribution in this research had used Google Form and then were distributed to 402 respondents of students in Batam. The data was analysed with IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The outcome of this research showed that mobile games addiction has significantly caused depression, social anxiety, and loneliness. Therefore, from these findings, it is recommended to reduce or limit mobile games and try to find something positive.

Abstract

Turnover Intention yang mengalami kenaikan merupakan masalah yang patut diperhatikan karena berpengaruh terhadap situasi sebuah perusahaan. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti dampak dari Kompensasi, Pelatihan dan pengembangan, Pemberdayaan karyawan terhadap Turnover Intention dengan Kepuasan kerja sebagai mediasi. Objek penelitian tertuju pada 274 karyawan hotel berbintang di Kota Batam dan data primer diperoleh dari kuesioner melalui google form dan menggunakan PLS-SEM untuk menguji hasil dan memeriksa hipotesis. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa Pelatihan dan pengembangan beserta Pemberdayaan karyawan berpengaruh signifikan positif terhadap Turnover intention dengan Kepuasan karir sebagai mediasi. Penulis menyarankan agar penelitian selanjutnya dapat menambah variabel lain untuk hasil yang maksimal.

Abstract

This research paper suggests a conceptual model for the academic staff adoption of iPad at university. With the enhancement of technology, knowledge can be developed more efficiently and effectively for the Teaching and Learning (T&L) process. iPad has become an important technology tool in the advancement of education, particularly in classroom instruction. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the dimensions of the drivers of iPad used by university academicians based on the technology acceptance model (TAM). The methodology used for this study, was to extract the critical factors from TAM. The five critical factors that supported the TAM theory are perceived ease of use (PEOU), perceived usefulness (PU), behavioral intention (BI), attitude (ATT) and frequency of actual use of iPad (AU). All these critical factors determined and validated by supported preceding articles and represent as the proposed dimensions for the conceptual model. Next, the hypotheses developed for each association among the critical factors. The findings drawn from the developed hypotheses generally lead to the development of a conceptual model. The limitation of this study is just to provide the conceptual notion; thus, this model could extend to the empirical analysis in the future.
