Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) Conducting a research is one of the implementations of Three Pillars of Higher Education that has a crucial role for the development of science, technology, and arts as well as for the improvement of the welfare of society since the research results are directly implemented to the society/community. To spread more significant effect; not only for the society/community but also for more external parties; therefore, Universitas Internasional Batam hold a Conference on Management, Business, Innovation, Education and Social Sciences (CoMBInES) that is attended by lecturers and students from both domestic and overseas partners to disseminate their research works. Through this conference, the researchers are able to share their knowledge and motivation in the application of sustainable research activities.

Abstract

Basketball is a sport that is widely known throughout the world, which was introduced on December 15, 1891 which has continued until now and the existence of the National Basketball Association (NBA) is an association that raises the name of basketball around the world. This trickshot is a basketball movement that is quite difficult to do in terms of style and how to do it because this movement really requires more practice and skill in basketball games but for learning tools in the form of 3d animation videos, there is no such thing. This research produces a short and clear 3-dimensional animation video with a duration of 2 minutes and 3 seconds using the MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) method which will be implemented on social media such as YouTube and with this animated video, it is hoped that basketball players can add knowledge and insight on how to do the basketball trick shot technique

Abstract

Server sudah banyak digunakan untuk operasional perusahaan dan semakin berkembang perusahaan membuat jumlah server bertambah dan server menjadi tugas tambahan dalam memonitoring kesehatan server ataupun performa dari server tersebut karena terus menerus memberikan informasi ketika ada penurunan performa, sistem tersebut berupa monitoring server. Monitoring Server termasuk salah satu perancangan untuk menjaga kestabilan server dengan memonitor server tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini penulis merancangan menggunakan Zabbix monitoring , dan melakukan pengetesan apakah ada notifikasi yang masuk jika servernya down . Hasilnya adalah Zabbix memonitor secara realtime dan jika ada masalah akan memberikan notifikasi dalam foto dan teks apa yang sedang terjadi pada server.

Abstract

In digital era nowadays, social media influencer holds an important role in influencing consumer’s opinion towards certain products. In this study, the author will analyze the impacts of influencer credibility’s on consumer purchase intention towards fashion products in Batam. The research data was obtained through distributing google form questionnaire with the condition that respondents follows at least one influencer on any social media platform. The total sample used in this study is 270 respondents who currently live in Batam.

Abstract

Umumnya sebuah organisasi maupun individu yang membangun perangkat menggunakan konsep pembuatan dengan arsitektur monolitis dan untuk menghemat resources biasanya diaplikasikan pada virtualisasi berbasis hypervisor. Tetapi arsitektur monolitis memiliki permasalahan pada fleksibilitas dan skalabilitas. Pada penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Jaramillo, Nguyen, & Smart menghasilkan data yang menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Docker dengan bantuan alat-alat lainnya dapat meningkatkan efisiensi serta otomatisasi pada arsitektur aplikasi microservices. Oleh karena itu, penulis merancang sebuah penilitian yang mengaplikasikan konsep microservices sebagai pengganti arsitektur monolitis pada container menggunakan Docker. Kemudian penulis akan melakukan pengujian performa berbasis Load Testing menggunakan aplikasi Apache JMeter. Hasil implementasi menunjukkan kemudahan dalam penggunaan dan aplikasi microservice pada Docker dan stabilitas yang baik saat pengujian berbagai load menggunakan Apache Jmeter.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of female boards of directors, size of directors, executive character, company size, institutional ownership, independent commissioners, audit committee, and audit quality on tax avoidance. The measurement of tax avoidance uses effective tax rates and book-tax differences. The population in this study used companies listed on the IDX from 2015-2019. Based on the purposive sampling method, 153 companies were used as samples. The results showed that the female board of directors, the board size, company size had an influence on BTD, while the character of the executive and the audit committee had an influence on ETR. Well-designed corporate governance within the company can reduce the potential for tax avoidance.

Abstract

Video games have become a part of people’s typical livelihood. Video games can be used for various purposes, not only for entertainment, one of which is conveying messages with deep meaning. In this article, we will discuss the design and development of a video game in the form of a serious game, with the theme of global warming. This research aims to raise awareness of the environment to overcome environmental problems. The serious game was developed using the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) framework. We produced a video game that has the mechanics, dynamics, and aesthetics based on the game development document (GDD). The result of this study is a simulation video game that main objective is to grow trees successfully. By developing this video game, we attempting to spread the message of global warming and the cause that is deforestation to the younger generation. The following describes the process of development of the serious game.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis tentang pengaruh keragaman dewan direksi dan audit terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Variabel independen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah kebangsaan direksi, kehadiran direksi wanita, jumlah direksi wanita, kualitas audit, dan biaya audit. Sedangkan variabel kontrol yang dalam penelitian ini hanya satu yakni ukuran perusahaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan 387 perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia dengan periode 2015 – 2019 pada pengujian ROA dan ROE. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah purposive sampling dan diuji dengan regresi panel. Pada pengujian menggunakan proksi ROA dan ROE terlihat bahwa kehadiran direksi wanita berpengaruh positif sedangkan jumlah direksi wanita berpengaruh negatif. Untuk variabel independen lain seperti keragaman kebangsaan, kualitas audit, dan biaya audit tidak memiliki hubungan yang signifikan terhadap ROA dan ROE

Abstract

The COVID-19 outbreak drastically impact worldwide economic including the stock returns. This study use Indonesia and Malaysia cases with total 141.585 and 219.381 observations in 2020. The measurement of COVID-19 of this study uses daily new confirmed cases and daily death cases from each country. To test the hypothesis, unbalanced panel and multiple regression is used to test the crowded data. The results show differ result for each country. In Indonesia, we found that the COVID-19 outbreak is strong negatively effect to stock return, in contrast, Malaysia found to be less influence. Furthermore, the effect of Monday and Friday was used to test any impact of day during the pandemic on stock return. Surprisingly, the effect of Friday affects differently from Monday. The weekend-effect still occur in pandemic situation and the investor mood still sentiment to Indonesia’s stock market.

Abstract

The Chinese almanac is a traditional asset that has been passed down from China time to time. The contents of the Chinese almanac also cover a broad range of natural phenomena that humans could benefit from in everyday life. However, there aren’t a lot of people who understand the meaning behind of using Chinese almanacs. Even the usage of Chinese almanacs was also rarely seen in Chinese nowadays, especially in modern times. With this research of creating a documentary video of Chinese Almanac using motion graphics, this video can provide more information and educate the audience about Chinese Almanac. Using the method of MDLC as well as motion graphics in documentary videos, information can be conveyed creatively and attractively for public viewing. The finished results of this research are so that the people can appreciate and get a closer look about the culture of Chinese Almanac.

Abstract

The main purpose of investors investing in the firm stocks is to achieve wealth growth through stock return. Stock return is one of the most important factors in choosing the best investments. This study investigates the relationship between firm characteristics and earning management on stock return before and during the pandemic. It involves firms in the IDX Basic industry with the use of audited financial reports. In addition to tracing the results before and during the pandemic, this study also investigates the relationship between the before and during pandemic periods combined. The observation period is from 2016–2020, using balanced panel data to produce generalizable results. For data analysis, we use the multiple regression method to prove the hypothesis and will be tested using the application of Stata. The results obtained from this study show that before the pandemic, earning per share has a negative effect on stock return. During the pandemic, capital structure has a negative effect on stock return. While combining the period before the pandemic and during the pandemic, it is found that firm size and earning per share do affect the stock return. Firm size shows significant positive result, while earning per share shows significant negative on stock return. This finding suggests firms to maintain and improve these significant factors. Hence, it can increase investors’ confidence for investing in the firm.
