Abstract

In terms of public health, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a problem in Indonesia. The Aedes aegypti mosquito infected with dengue virus is the vector of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).  DHF is usually found in tropical climates, as vector characteristics are influenced by rainfall, temperature, and rapid movement. Data shows that Asia is the center of the most cases of dengue fever every year, and Indonesia is still one of the main transmission areas. In 2017, the dengue incidence rate in Pekalongan City was 1.44 cases per 10,000 population, and there were 44 confirmed cases in the Pekalongan City Health Center area, consisting of 18 males and 16 females. Therefore, this study aims to describe dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) cases at the health center in the east Pekalongan sub-district area in 2023, including the number of cases, age, gender, and time of occurrence of cases. This study uses a descriptive method in which secondary data on DHF patients recorded at the Noyontaan, Tondano, and Sukorejo health centers are obtained and then analyzed descriptively using the SPSS version 24 application. Based on the results of the research, the number of DHF cases at the Puskesmas of East Pekalongan Subdistrict in 2023 was quite high, as many as 49 cases, with the highest number of DHF cases found in the Tondano health center area. The number of DHF patients occurred in the adolescent age group of 10-18 years as many as 20 cases (40.8%) and 25 cases (51.0%) of males. The high number of DHF cases indicates the need for more intensive disease prevention and control efforts, especially in the adolescent age group, as well as paying attention to the increase in cases in certain months.

Abstract

Incidence of Abortion at Imelda Pekerja Indonesia General Hospital in 2022 increased by 95 abortion cases (56.5%) out of 168 pregnancies. The incidence of abortion remains high due to the prevalence of abortion among working mothers. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors influencing the incidence of abortion at Imelda Pekerja Indonesia General Hospital in 2023. The research employs a mixed-methods approach with sequential explanatory design. The quantitative sample consists of 50 pregnant women who experienced abortions, using medical record data and total sampling method. The qualitative research involves 10 informants selected through purposive sampling. Quantitative data analysis includes univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis using Chi-Square and Multiple Linear Regression tests. Qualitative data analysis involves data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the Chi-Square test results, variables with a p- value < 0.05 indicate a significant relationship between age, parity, pregnancy interval, history of abortion, education level, occupation, and maternal disease history with the incidence of abortion. The Multiple Linear Regression test reveals that the most influential factor is the history of abortion, particularly incomplete abortion. Qualitative research results also show the influence of age, parity, pregnancy interval, history of abortion, education level, occupation, and maternal disease history on the incidence of abortion, with the most influential variable being the history of abortion, specifically incomplete abortion. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between age, parity, pregnancy interval, history of abortion, education level, occupation, and maternal disease history with the incidence of abortion at Imelda Pekerja Indonesia General Hospital in 2023, with the most influential variable being the history of abortion, particularly incomplete abortion. It is recommended that healthcare providers offer information about abortion to pregnant women, those who have experienced abortion, and those with a history of abortion, and encourage pregnant women to regularly undergo prenatal check-ups.

Abstract

Hypertension or high blood pressure is a serious health problem and is common among teenagers. Hypertension is not only a major cause of cardiovascular disease, but also contributes significantly to the global health burden. According to data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI), the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia has reached an alarming figure. This research method uses quantitative methods by collecting data through questionnaires. This questionnaire is designed to measure the independent variable, namely physical activity, and the dependent variable, namely blood pressure. Based on the results of the questionnaire, physical activity and blood pressure data were obtained from 32 respondents. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 32 teenagers aged 18 to 22 years. Based on Table 2, the correlation between frequency of physical activity (∑x1) and blood pressure (∑y) is 0.413* with p 0.019. This shows that there is a significant positive relationship between how often adolescents engage in physical activity and their blood pressure. These results emphasize the importance of promoting physical activity among adolescents as a hypertension prevention strategy. Physical activity is not only beneficial for cardiovascular health but also plays an important role in maintaining overall health.
