Abstract

Degenerative disease is a condition of continuous decline in body function with increasing age. Hypertension is a degenerative disease that is often suffered by the elderly. The aging process results in changes in body composition, often without being accompanied by weight changes. Increasing age in the elderly will experience functional limitations caused by changes in body composition, one of which is the Percentage of Skeletal Muscle. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the percentage of skeletal muscle and the emergence of degenerative diseases (hypertension) in the elderly at the Mugi Healthy Elderly Posyandu. The instruments in this study used a Digital Sphygmomanometer to measure blood pressure and an Omron Karada Scan Body Composition Monitor Model HBF-375 to measure Skeletal Muscle Percentage. This research method uses a cross-sectional research design. The sample in this study is 58 people. The research was conducted at the Mugi Sehat Elderly Posyandu in the working area of the 2022 UPTD Kembar I health center in May-June 2023. The sampling technique in this study uses total sampling and data analysis using the Spearman Rank test. The results of this study from the bivariate analysis showed that there was no relationship between the Percentage of Skeletal Muscle and the emergence of degenerative diseases (hypertension) in the elderly at the Mugi Healthy Elderly Posyandu, namely the Percentage of Skeletal Muscle with hypertension P value = 0.576 (CC=-0.075).

The professionalism of a nurse can be seen in carrying out routine work in the field of nursing in accordance with the specified capacity and competence. The performance of nurses in carrying out their duties is not only influenced by the condition of the nurse herself but also influenced by the number of patients being treated, age, gender, facilities and infrastructure, working period, work shifts, body mass index and workload. This type of research uses a descriptive analytical survey with a cross sectional design. The population in this study is 177 people, while the sample is 177 people with a total population technique. Data analysis was carried out by univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. The results of this study showed that there was an effect of working period, work shift, body mass index and workload with risk factors for work fatigue in nurses with p-values of 0.014, 0.011; 0.013 and 0.001<0.05. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of working period, work shift, body mass index and workload with work fatigue in nurses. It is hoped that the hospital will be able to pay attention to work fatigue in the nurses by providing fitness exercises, educating nurses to stretch, placing younger nurses in the inpatient room, placing male nurses on night shifts, increasing the number of nurses according to the number of treatment beds and replacing administrative tasks with technology.

The research informants were the key informants of the director of the Hospital, the main informants of the head of administration, the head of support and the head of programs as well as supporting informants of 6 outpatients. The results of the research on infrastructure variables are not enough such as network, Wifi, programmer, cables that are being used do not work. The HR variables were found that the number of human resources was inadequate, there was still a shortage of human resources and the absence of Rewards and the implementation of SOPs that had not been maximized, and the variables of procedures at dr. Yulidin Away Hospital were focused on improving the implementation of SIMRS, this can be proven from the lack of appropriate recruitment of human resources, the absence of scheduled training, and the lack of control in the implementation of SIMRS. The suggestions in this study are that the management must allocate funds for the lack of infrastructure provision, provide training for SIMRS employees so that they can work according to SOPs, Recruitment of employees to run SIMRS so that the implementation of SIMRS also runs smoothly and better.

Abstract

The development of occupational safety and health science in the work environment can be seen with the development of advanced science and technology as well as the emergence of new innovations in the work environment and encouraging companies to improve the knowledge and skills of their human resources. The purpose of this study is to determine the Influence of Occupational Safety and Health Education (K3) on the Behavior of Using Personal Protective Equipment at the Special UPTD of Haji Medan Hospital. This research includes quasi-experimental research. This study uses a one group pretest and pottest design. The population in this study is emergency room nurses at the Special UPTD of Haji Medan Hospital which totals 50 nurses in June-August 2024. The sampling technique in this study is total sampling. The measuring tool in this study uses a univariate and bivariate distribution of non-parametric data with the Wilcoxon test. The results of the Wilcoxon statistical test of both knowledge and attitude obtained a P-value of 0.000. This means that at alpha 5% there is a significant difference in median score between before and after counseling. Meanwhile, in the aspect of action, there was an increase in the number of PPE users between before and after counseling. Because the results of Asymp.Sig of knowledge, attitudes and actions are less than 0.05, H0 is rejected so that there is an influence of occupational health and safety counseling (K3) on the behavior of using PPE. In conclusion, there is an influence of Occupational Safety and Health Counseling (K3) on the behavior of using personal protective equipment at the Special UPTD of Haji Medan Hospital. The suggestions are expected to increase the frequency of counseling and provide information on the importance of using personal protective equipment in the workplace, provide strict sanctions against nurses who do not use personal protective equipment at work, increase the frequency.
