Abstract

The Darul Falah Majelis Taklim Cooperative in Pamulang Barat, South Tangerang, was established in January 2026 to support the economic empowerment of jamaah through community-based business activities. However, the cooperative faced several capacity constraints, including limited Islamic financial literacy, limited institutional management experience, and inadequate skills in standardized financial recording and reporting. This community service program aimed to strengthen the capacity of cooperative managers through training in cooperative governance, Islamic business ethics, and basic sharia financial accounting. The program adopted a participatory and contextual community empowerment approach consisting of needs assessment, preparation, training and technical assistance, monitoring and evaluation, and sustainability planning. Forty-five participants were involved in the program. Program effectiveness was assessed by comparing pre-test and post-test scores, complemented by observation and practical simulation. The average participant score increased from 44.00% before the intervention to 95.56% after the intervention, representing an increase of 51.56 percentage points. The results indicate that practice-oriented training and direct mentoring substantially improved participants’ understanding of cooperative governance and financial recording. The program also established a foundation for more transparent and accountable cooperative management. Future assistance should focus on digital financial recording, periodic monitoring, and institutional strengthening to maintain the benefits of the intervention.

Abstract

Rural areas have strong potential to develop organic livestock feed innovations from local agricultural waste; however, farmers still rely heavily on commercial feed, while abundant rice straw remains underutilized. This community service program aimed to strengthen the economic resilience and technical capacity of the Mandala Mukti I farmer group in Mandalamekar Village, Cimenyan District, Bandung Regency, by fermenting rice straw into silage as a low-cost alternative feed. Activities included problem identification, material preparation, workshops, hands-on mentoring, and monitoring and evaluation using pre- and post-tests. Participants' average score rose from 11.70 (39.01%) in the pre-test to 26.65 (88.83%) in the post-test, yielding an N-Gain of 81.85%, classified as high/effective. By the program’s conclusion, participants could independently complete every stage of fermentation. This community-based approach, combining direct training with continuous mentoring, aligns with waste-to-value and appropriate-technology empowerment programs for rural groups. Future work will include laboratory testing of silage nutritional content, expanded production, and continued mentoring with the local Livestock Services Office. These efforts aim to reduce dependence on commercial feed, promote circular-economy waste management, and enhance the sustainability and competitiveness of partners’ livestock enterprises over the long term in rural communities.

Abstract

This Community Service (PKM) program aims to enhance the understanding and export readiness of the Sangaran Kreatif Nusantara Group in developing culture-based creative products for international markets. The program employed a participatory approach comprising socialization, training, technology application, mentoring and evaluation, and program sustainability. The materials focused on business legality and administration, product standardization, export documentation and procedures, branding and packaging, and international marketing strategies. Participants were also introduced to market segmentation, targeting, positioning, value chains, and market access strategies. The results indicated an improvement in participants’ understanding of export readiness requirements and the strategies that can be applied according to the characteristics of their creative products. The discussion also identified alternative market development strategies through Business-to-Business (B2B) partnerships and the utilization of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) to facilitate access to potential international business partners. Overall, the program provides an initial foundation for the Sangaran Kreatif Nusantara Group to strengthen its competitiveness and gradually prepare its culture-based creative products to enter global markets.

Abstract

This study identifies rice cultivation and postharvest processing practices implemented by a rural agricultural community and explains the stages involved in producing quality rice. Rice farming is the community’s primary livelihood, but farmers face challenges related to reliance on traditional techniques, limited process documentation, and the need to improve efficiency and rice quality. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, drawing on direct observation, interviews, and documentation involving farmers and local workers engaged in rice production. Findings show that production follows a structured sequence of harvesting, husk removal, initial milling, grain polishing, and waste management. Each stage contributes to rice quality and production continuity. The study further found that farmers combine traditional knowledge with simple mechanized practices and reuse rice husks as organic fertilizer, reflecting resource efficiency and environmental awareness. These findings offer practical insight into local agricultural practices and identify opportunities to improve processes, build farmer capacity, and strengthen sustainable agricultural management. The study contributes to a broader understanding of community-based rice production systems and supports efforts to improve productivity, product quality, and long-term agricultural sustainability. It emphasizes the value of documenting practices to facilitate knowledge transfer and continuous improvement.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to improve social skills, promote physical and mental well-being, strengthen independence, and create positive memories among older adults through an Outing Class program. The activity was conducted at Enchanting Valley, Taman Safari, involving 105 elderly students and 10 facilitators from Sekolah Lansia Pondokgede “Selancar Poge Hebat.” The implementation methods included morning exercise sessions, cultural and artistic performances by elderly participants, interactive games, shared meals, and educational-recreational tourism activities. Program effectiveness was evaluated using a pre-test and post-test approach covering five indicators: happiness, life satisfaction, quality of life, social skills, and depression levels. The findings indicated significant improvements in all positive well-being indicators, accompanied by a reduction in depression levels after participation in the program. Participants demonstrated stronger social interaction, greater self-confidence, enhanced physical activity, and more active involvement in public settings. The combination of recreational, educational, and participatory activities created a positive atmosphere that supported psychological well-being and healthy aging. The program concludes that an Outing Class can serve as an effective community-based strategy enhance the quality of life of older adults. Its managerial contribution lies in providing a sustainable model for elderly empowerment programs that integrate education, recreation, social engagement, and active aging principles.

Abstract

The use of digital wallets in Indonesia continues to expand as demand grows for practical and efficient financial transactions. However, limited digital financial literacy among rural communities remains a challenge to safe digital wallet use, particularly in personal data protection, account security, and fraud prevention. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and skills of Sukahurip Village residents in using digital wallets appropriately, securely, and responsibly. It used participatory socialization and education covering digital wallet concepts and benefits, financial transaction use, security risk identification, personal data protection, and measures to prevent fraud and account misuse. Results showed improved understanding of digital wallets’ functions and benefits and stronger ability to identify risks in digital financial transactions. Participants also showed greater awareness of essential security practices, including keeping personal data and authentication information confidential, verifying transaction details before payment, and staying alert to digital fraud. The activity demonstrates that contextual and participatory digital financial literacy education can strengthen rural communities’ capacity to use digital financial services safely. It contributes to improved financial literacy, transaction security, and financial inclusion among Sukahurip Village residents while supporting their confident participation in the digital economy.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) face challenges in financial management, particularly in transaction recording, financial reporting, tax calculation, and separation of business and personal finances. This community service program aimed to improve the digital financial literacy and financial management capabilities of food business owners assisted by UP2K PKK Kelurahan Jatibening through the AccounTax application. The program involved 10 MSMEs and employed a participatory approach consisting of socialization, training, technology implementation, mentoring, evaluation, and sustainability monitoring. Participants were trained to record transactions, separate business and personal finances, prepare income statements and statements of financial position, and use the tax calculator feature. Evaluation through pre-test and post-test showed improvements in most indicators. Understanding of the main benefits of AccounTax increased from 60% to 90%, while understanding of financial recording objectives, separation of business and personal finances, and recordable transactions increased by 20% each. Transaction input skills and tax calculator understanding increased by 10%. The program demonstrates that practice-based training using digital financial applications can strengthen financial literacy, recording discipline, and MSME readiness to prepare structured financial statements. AccounTax contributes as an accessible digital tool to support business transparency, tax compliance, financing access, and sustainable business management.

Abstract

Mandalamekar Village, Cimenyan District, Bandung Regency, faces unmanaged livestock manure, odour, environmental risks, and continued dependence on externally purchased chemical fertilisers. This community service program aimed to convert livestock waste into marketable compost while strengthening local production capacity and establishing a village-based circular enterprise. A Participatory Action Research approach was implemented through participatory assessment, technical training, assisted production, standard operating procedure development, an agronomic demonstration plot, packaging and branding, cost calculation, and market-access development. Thirty members of the livestock and farmer groups participated in the intervention. Evaluation combined pre-test and post-test measurement, production monitoring, physical compost-maturity indicators, qualitative observation, and a simple cost and sensitivity analysis. The program produced 100 kg of mature compost in the first production cycle, established a production SOP, prepared five initial sale-ready sacks, and generated a gross margin of 50.18% at a selling price of IDR 25,000 per kg and production cost of IDR 12,455 per kg. The results indicate that integrating technical capacity building with downstream business development can strengthen local waste valorisation, create supplementary income opportunities, and operationalise circular economy principles at village level.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen Islamic economic and financial literacy among pesantren teachers by addressing limited understanding of sharia-based financial concepts, practical applications, and the integration of Islamic economic principles into pesantren education. The program was implemented at Pondok Modern Darussalam Ciomas, Bogor, through a series of stages consisting of an initial assessment, training sessions, interactive discussions, case studies, group discussions, and a post-training evaluation. The training covered three main areas: the foundations of Islamic economics, Islamic financial principles, and the implementation of Islamic economics and finance in curriculum and daily life. The findings indicate that the program enhanced participants’ understanding and strengthened their ability to relate Islamic economic and financial principles to educational and everyday contexts. The discussion highlights strong understanding of ZISWAF instruments, curriculum integration, and practical applications, while foundational concepts of kaffah and Quranic verses concerning the perfection of Islam require further reinforcement. The novelty of this program lies in integrating conceptual knowledge with curriculum and daily-life applications within a pesantren-based learning environment. This approach contributes to teacher empowerment and strengthens their role as agents of Islamic economic and financial literacy, with potential for replication in other pesantren communities.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to strengthen the sustainability and operational performance of MySari Pala, a nutmeg-processing micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME), through the implementation of the Circular Business Model Canvas (CBMC). The activity addressed challenges related to cost management, raw material quality, resource utilization, labor productivity, distribution, and market expansion. A participatory approach was implemented through Focus Group Discussions, training, mentoring, observation, interviews, and business model analysis using the Business Model Canvas and CBMC frameworks. The findings indicate measurable improvements in participants’ managerial understanding, strategic planning capabilities, and awareness of cost efficiency, resource utilization, and circular business practices. Participants were able to identify major cost drivers, evaluate resource utilization opportunities, and formulate practical strategies for improving production efficiency, supplier management, digital marketing, distribution, and value-added product development. The novelty of this activity lies in applying CBMC as a practical empowerment framework that integrates cost optimization, circular resource utilization, and sustainable business development within an MSME context. The activity demonstrates that CBMC can support knowledge enhancement and provide an actionable roadmap for improving operational resilience, competitiveness, and long-term MSME sustainability.
