Abstract

School-based management (SBM) is one form of implementation of educational decentralization policy that aims to improve the effectiveness of education management and the quality of learning at the educational unit level. This study aims to analyze the concepts, principles, quality indicators, and implementation of SBM in improving the quality of education. The study uses a qualitative approach with a library research method. Data were obtained from various scientific literature sources in the form of books, academic journals, and educational policy documents relevant to the topic of educational decentralization and education management. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify key concepts, compare previous research findings, and compile a conceptual synthesis regarding SBM implementation. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of SBM has the potential to improve the quality of education by strengthening school independence, more flexible resource management, and increasing stakeholder participation in educational decision-making. However, the effectiveness of SBM implementation is still influenced by the quality of principal leadership, managerial capacity, school organizational culture, and community support. In addition, resource inequality and low understanding of the SBM concept also become obstacles in its implementation. Therefore, strengthening the implementation of MBS needs to be directed at improving human resource competency, strengthening transparent and accountable school governance, and developing a continuous monitoring and evaluation system to achieve systematic and sustainable improvements in education quality. Abstract

Effective library management is a key factor in improving the quality of services provided to users. Libraries serve as centers of information and learning resources that play a strategic role in supporting academic activities and enhancing community literacy. Library management can be understood as a process of organizing and optimizing human resources, particularly librarians, to achieve the objectives of the library based on organizational principles and established theories of library science. The purpose of this study is to describe the management of libraries in madrasahs and dayahs, with a specific focus on developing organizational structures that include goal setting, task formulation, activity planning, and defining the roles of librarians. Such structures are intended to make libraries more efficient and effective in their utilization. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, which allows the researcher to gain a deeper understanding of the phenomenon under study and to investigate library management practices in detail. Through this approach, the study provides a comprehensive picture of how libraries can be optimized as centers of learning, thereby improving service quality, strengthening literacy, and supporting independent learning among students.

Abstract

This study is part of the discourse on Islamic communication and Islamic boarding school education in Indonesia, focusing on the construction of communication models in shaping the character of Islamic boarding school students. This study aims to formulate an integrative Islamic communication model that combines normative persuasion, leadership exemplarity, and religious culture as a moral guidance system at the Raudhatul Qur'an Payaraman Islamic Boarding School. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Informants were selected purposively based on their strategic roles in the educational process. Data analysis techniques used an interactive model through data reduction, data presentation, and cyclical conclusion drawing, with validity reinforced through source and method triangulation. The results show that Islamic communication in Islamic boarding schools takes place systematically and relationally. Persuasion shapes the cognitive framework of values, exemplarity presents moral legitimacy through consistency of action, while religious culture reproduces values through routines and social structures. The integration of these three elements forms a mechanism for the internalization of akhlakul karimah that is cyclical and sustainable. This study produced an integrative Islamic communication model based on a cultural systemic approach as a conceptual and strategic reference in character building in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study analyzes the Jabalul Hikmah scientific integration model developed at UIN Prof. K. H. Saifuddin Zuhri Purwokerto as an effort to address the challenges of globalization and the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Using a qualitative approach and supported by questionnaire data from lecturers and students, this research examines the meaning, implementation, and implications of the integration model. The findings indicate that scientific integration is understood as an effort to unify various branches of knowledge in order to create a holistic understanding that connects spiritual, intellectual, and social aspects. Most respondents were familiar with the concept of Jabalul Hikmah, although their level of understanding varied. The implementation of integration is carried out through curriculum design, research, and community service, emphasizing interdisciplinary synergy. Metaphorically, the Jabalul Hikmah paradigm is symbolized by a mountain, representing wisdom, resilience, and the process of ascending toward perfection. This model emphasizes the integration of intellectuality, professionalism, and morality, so that graduates are expected to become insan kamil (the ideal human being). Thus, Jabalul Hikmah serves as a relevant and applicable integrative paradigm with the potential to strengthen the quality of Islamic higher education in facing complex global challenges.

Abstract

Teaching skills constitute a fundamental component in supporting the development of 21st-century skills encompassing critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration (4C). This study aims to examine how teachers' teaching skills can be optimized to develop 21st-century skills among students. Employing a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review approach, this research analyzes various academic sources related to learning strategies, teacher roles, and 4C skills implementation in classrooms. The findings demonstrate that teachers must transform from knowledge transmitters to learning facilitators capable of creating active, innovative, and student-centered learning environments. Effective teaching skills include instructional design, classroom management, methodological variation, reinforcement, and constructive feedback. Technology integration and process-based learning approaches prove capable of enhancing engagement and higher-order thinking abilities. However, the development of adaptive teaching skills faces systemic, individual, and contextual challenges that mutually reinforce one another. The conclusion emphasizes that mastery of adaptive and innovative teaching skills serves as the key foundation in preparing competent generations ready to navigate the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

Global social transformation and the development of science in the modern era require the Islamic education system to continuously undergo conceptual reconstruction to remain relevant to the needs of the times. In the Indonesian national context, Islamic Religious Education faces challenges in the form of social change, pluralism, and demands to strengthen moderate, rational, and contextual Islamic values in the world of education. These conditions demonstrate the urgency of genealogical studies to trace the historical roots, development of thought, and conceptual transformation of Islamic Religious Education so that it can be understood comprehensively within the dynamics of contemporary Islamic education. This study aims to analyze the genealogy of Islamic Religious Education and examine its actualization in the dynamics of Islamic education in the modern era. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study type. Data sources were obtained from books, scientific journal articles, and relevant academic documents. The data collection technique was carried out through documentation studies, while data analysis used descriptive analytical content analysis techniques. Data validity was carried out through source triangulation and strengthening reference studies. The results of the study indicate that the genealogy of Islamic Religious Education was formed through a long historical process from the classical Islamic scientific tradition to its integration into the modern education system, which was then actualized through strengthening the values of moderation, integration of knowledge, and a contextual pedagogical approach. These findings provide theoretical implications for the development of Islamic Religious Education studies and practical implications for strengthening the adaptive orientation of Islamic education to changing times.

Abstract

The development of responsibility character in early childhood is a crucial aspect that cannot be separated from the role of parents in the parenting process. This study aims to describe the influence of parenting styles on the formation of responsibility character in early childhood within the community of Cikampek Barat Village, RW 18, Karawang Regency. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques consisting of observation and open-ended interviews. The research subjects comprised five early childhood children aged 4–6 years and five parents as the primary informants. Data validity was examined through triangulation techniques, while data analysis was conducted using the interactive analysis model of Miles and Huberman, encompassing three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the parenting styles applied by parents are not singular in nature but vary in accordance with family habits and communication patterns. Two dominant parenting styles were identified, namely democratic parenting and authoritarian parenting. Children raised under democratic parenting demonstrated more optimal development of responsibility character, characterized by greater independence, openness, and self-awareness. In contrast, children raised under authoritarian parenting tended to exhibit compliance driven by fear rather than by an internalized understanding of responsibility values. This study affirms that an appropriate parenting style, one that integrates warmth, effective communication, and reasonable supervision, is proven to support the formation of stable responsibility character in early childhood.

Abstract

This research aims to explore spiritual experiences as an addiction recovery mechanism in individuals undergoing pesantren-based rehabilitation. This study uses a qualitative approach with an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) design to understand the life experiences of participants in interpreting the recovery process. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews, observations, and field records of individuals who are undergoing or have completed pesantren-based rehabilitation programs. The results show that spiritual experiences play an important role as an important mechanism in addiction recovery through four main dimensions, namely: spiritual awareness as a turning point for change, spiritual practice as a means of self-regulation against craving and prevention of relapse, religious community as a source of recovery support, and identity reconstruction as part of recovery transformation. These findings suggest that addiction recovery in the context of pesantren-based rehabilitation is not only related to the cessation of substance use, but is a psychospiritual process that involves a change in the meaning of life, self-control, communal support, and the formation of a new identity. This study proposes the concept of spiritual recovery mechanism as a theoretical contribution to expand the perspective of recovery capital in the study of addiction recovery.
