Abstract

In an effort to improve the accessibility andaccuracy of lung health monitoring, we developed aspirometry-based lung health device using theVLX5LOX distance sensor and Internet of Things (IoT)technology with the ESP 32 module. Spirometry is astandard method for measuring lung capacity andfunction. The VLX5LOX sensor can measure airflow speed using Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology and send real-time data to the ESP 32 module, which processes and transmits the data to an application. The implementation of IoT technology also allows forcloud data storage for further analysis, especially forpatients with poor lung health conditions. Test resultsshow that this device can provide measurementsconsistent with conventional spirometry methods, with the added advantages of better portability and data accessibility. The use of the VLX5LOX sensor and ESP32 in medical applications demonstrates great potential in developing innovative and affordablehealthcare devices.

Abstract

Bangka’s typical dodol has a sweet taste, and a soft texture and food that isrelatively durable. The typical Bangka dodol ingredients used are coconut milk,granulated sugar, palm sugar, and sticky rice. The results of observations withUMKM PAHLAWAN IV in Nibung village, dodol artisans still use human labor asa source of motivation. From these problems, the idea of designing and making adodol stirring machine emerged which aims to assist PAHLAWAN IV UMKM inthe process of stirring dodol from a manual system to a mechanical system. Themethod used in making this machine uses the VDI 2222 method. This method has 4(four)stages,namelyanalysis,conceptualization,designing,andcompletion.Fromthis stage of conceptualizing, alternative part functions are produced. Alternativepart functions are then given an assessment to determine alternative part functionsusedinmachinemanufacturing.Furthermore,thealternativefunctionoftheselected part will be optimized for design. The dodol stirring machine made hasspecifications of 650 mm in length, 650 mm in width, and 900 mm in height. Thedrivesourceusesa 1/2HPelectric motor with1,400rpm.Thetransmissionsystemuses a 1:50 size 60 gearbox which is passed on by pulleys and V-Belts. Based onthe results of the trial, the results of the 5kg capacity dough were obtained in 1(one)process with a period of 4 to 8 hours.

Abstract

The scoreboard is an important component in volleyball matches for ease of recording scores. This final project creates an innovation for a microcontrollerbased scoreboard and mobile application. The system consists of two main components: a digital scoreboard controlled by a microcontroller and a wirelessly connected mobile application. A microcontroller is used to control the display of scores on a digital scoreboard, while a mobile application allows users to input and monitor scores in real-time. The wireless connection between the app and the scoreboard uses Wi-Fi technology, ensuring flexibility and mobility for users. Tests show that the combination of a microcontroller and a mobile application can increase efficiency and accuracy in managing volleyball match scores. Thus, the implementation of a microcontroller-based volleyball scoreboard and mobile application is expected to make a positive contribution in organizing volleyball matches.

Abstract

Drying is a process of simultaneous transfer of heat and water vapor that requires heat energy to evaporate the water content contained in the material being dried by a drying medium that is usually heat, at this time the development of modern technology and automation of electronic equipment has changed the way work is done, including clothes dryers. This tool is able to dry various types of clothes such as t-shirts, cotton, jeans, and jackets, which are commonly used daily. The author developed an IoT-based automatic clothes dryer using electrical energy. This tool works with a heating system that comes from a heater that is spread by an AC fan so that it is evenly distributed throughout the closet. And the IoT functions as monitoring conditions in the closets such as temperature, humidity and time, Drying can be done independent of the weather and following a predetermined time and temperature, with an optimal room humidity levels: 75% t-shirt, 74% cotton, 77% jeans, and 77% jacket.

Abstract

Charcoal briquettes are charcoal sticks made from coconut shells and molded using a machine to produce very high heat and can burn for a long time. The use of charcoal briquettes from coconut shells will contribute to reducing dependence on firewood, LPG gas and kerosene, the availability of which is running low and cannot be renewed, especially for communities in several Sungailiat areas and at the same time can support the use of coconut shell waste as a material. burn.This research aims to design and build a Coconut Shell Charcoal Briquette Printing Machine with a capacity of 12kg/hour and design a maintenance system for the Coconut Shell Charcoal Briquette Printing Machine so that it is ready for use and extends its service life. The design method used in this research is Verein Deutsche Ingenieuer (VDI 2222).The results of research on the Coconut Charcoal Briquette Printing Machine using the VDI 2222 design method, namely printing Coconut Charcoal Briquettes with a length of 60cm and a capacity of 12kg/hour. The maintenance system on this machine uses planned maintenance and inspections for operators to carry out independent maintenance.

Abstract

Mobile phone users in Indonesia have currently reached 345 million units. Due to the large number of mobile phone users currently, some people may need a holder on their desk to make calls, watch videos and use applications without needing to hold the mobile phone directly. Product design for a cellphone stand holder with movement of at least 2 planes of rotation for use on a table. The aim of making this final project is to create a cellphone stand holder product design using Solidwork software and the product is printed using 3D printing in the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic laboratory. This research uses the VDI2222 method, namely, planning, conceptualizing, designing, completing. The product will be produced in the Polman Babel mechanical laboratory using 3D printing. Cellphone stand holder products with sizes P=29mm, L=29mm, T=100mm are able to withstand a maximum load of 250 grams, with main systems such as a rotation system that uses a ball head that can rotate 360°, a holder and lock system that can clamp the cellphone holder when in use. , and the grounding system uses standard aluminum alloy materials. Holder was able to process 3D printing in 3.17 hours.

Abstract

Monitoring of water levels in fish ponds is rarely done. Uncontrolled water discharge due to heavy rainfall can cause a pond to overflow and evaporate water due to the dry season due to lack of information on the pond. This is because the water control system in the pond is still manual. This manual method has a disadvantage factor that does not automatically add and reduce water. The application of IoT technology is a prototype for monitoring water levels and water temperatures in fish ponds with an ESP32 microcontroller. The temperature sensor we use is the DS18B20 temperature sensor to measure the temperature of the fish pond water. While the ultrasonic sensor to measure the water level of the pond which functions as an input signal for both water pumps where if the water level is below 27 cm the fish pond water filling pump is active and the water level is above 27 cm the fish pond water discharge pump is active. The results of the trial, the accuracy of the ultrasonic sensor when compared to measurements using a meter is 95.84 percent. While the DS18B20 temperature sensor when compared to measurements using a thermometer is 98.26 percent. Testing the monitoring system using Blynk software can display the display data results on the LCD, but it cannot be used to control the condition of the fish pond.

Abstract

Goat feces (kohe) can be used as kohe fertilizer. However, goat kohe that is directly sown takes a long time to decompose due to its hard texture. From these problems, the design of an efficient chopping machine kohe is made which can accelerate the fermentation process in goat kohe. The design method used refers to the VDI 2222 method, namely analysis, planning, conceptualizing and designing. The results of the machine design have dimensions of 1000x500x565 mm, a capacity of 250 kg / hour, using a 7.5 HP fuel motor, a pulley and belt transmission system with a speed of 3000 RPM input and an output RPM of 903 RPM. This machine is equipped with 28 removable crushing knives and a filter that functions to smooth the goat's kohe. The analysis and simulation results show that the designed shaft has a theoretical stress stress of 2,204 N/mm2 and a simulation of 2,280 N/mm2. Displacement analysis on the shaft theoretically amounted to 0.00645 mm and simulation amounted to 0.00514 mm. The strain analysis on the shaft was theoretically 0.00001075 mm and simulation was 0.0000927 mm and the stress on the crushing blade was theoretically 0.446 N/mm2 and simulation was 0.776 N/mm2. Strain analysis of the crushing blade theoretically amounted to 2.124 mm and simulation amounted to 2.242 mm. The displacement analysis of the crushing blade theoretically amounted to 0.000219 mm and the simulation amounted to 0.000213 mm which indicates that the designed crushing blade is safe.

Abstract

The problem raised in making this final project was that there were still many dirty and rotten eggs being sold in local shops. So, the author's goal in making this final project is to be able to clean eggs, sort the bad and good eggs, and count the total eggs, the number of bad and good eggs. The method used uses 3 rotating brushes to clean eggs, an LDR sensor to detect egg quality, a servo motor for egg sorting, an IR sensor to count eggs and displayed on a LCD 20x4 I2C. The results of testing the IR sensor with 5 trials obtained the lowest detection accuracy, namely 95%, while the LCD 20x4 I2C can display information on total eggs, number of rotten and good eggs. The LDR sensor can differentiate the ADC value range for good eggs, which is around 630 - 660, while the ADC value range for bad eggs is more than 700 - 720. However, the cleaning system using a rotating brush shows that the brush is not able to clean all dirt optimally.

Abstract

The Split Air Conditioner (AC) unit in the PolmanBabel Mechanical Engineering Laboratory Building is used as a room cooling device for practicum students, lecturers and PLP. With such a high usage time (average usage 10 hours to 24 hours) there is a lot of possibility of damage occurring. To reduce and overcome this problem, it is planned to design a preventive maintenance system for Split AC units at the PolmanBabel Mechanical Engineering Laboratory. The design of this preventive maintenance system is based on data from several stages, starting from Split AC inventory data, interview data, Split AC maintenance data and manual book. The results of the preventive maintenance system design for Split ACs include various important elements, starting from Split AC preventive maintenance maintenance plan data, Split AC preventive maintenance schedules, maintenance checklist cards, control cards, historical maintenance or damage cards and Split AC preventive maintenance procedures. The aim of this preventive maintenance system design is so that it can be understood and understood well by equipment managers, implementers and users, so that this preventive maintenance system design can be implemented and applied to Split AC units at the PolmanBabel Mechanical Engineering Laboratory. By implementing this preventive maintenance system, it is hoped that the Split AC units at the PolmanBabel Mechanical Engineering Laboratory can operate much better so that they have a longer service life and reduce the damage that occurs.
