Abstract

Lack of reproductive health knowledge about vaginal discharge is caused by limited access to information media and lack of awareness to maintain cleanliness of reproductive organs (personal hygiene) are factors causing vaginal discharge. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of health education using leaflet media on the knowledge of adolescent girls about vaginal discharge. The research design used a pre-experimental one-group pre-post test design. The population was 80 respondents using a simple random sampling technique so that the sample was 67 respondents. The data collection technique used a questionnaire and data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. The results of the study showed that before being given treatment, most respondents (70.1%) had poor knowledge about vaginal discharge and after being given treatment, most respondents (73.1%) had good knowledge about vaginal discharge. The results of data analysis using the Wilcoxon test to analyze obtained a sig value (2-tailed) or p value = 0.000 <0.05 so that H1 was accepted, meaning that there was an effect of health education using leaflet media on the knowledge of adolescent girls about vaginal discharge at State Junior High School 2 Semen, Kediri Regency. An important role in influencing human behavior such as attitudes, actions and knowledge is to provide health education, because health education is a learning mechanism carried out by individuals or groups.

Abstract

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a form of hyperglycemia that develops during pregnancy and is associated with maternal and neonatal complications. Women with GDM face increased risks of cesarean delivery, preeclampsia, and mental health issues, while their infants are more prone to macrosomia, neonatal jaundice, and long-term metabolic disorders. This systematic review evaluates the impact of interventions on the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of pregnant women with diabetes mellitus. A systematic search in Scopus, SAGE, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest was conducted for studies published between 2021 and 2025, following PRISMA 2023 guidelines. From 611,094 initial records, 36 studies met the inclusion criteria, with five selected for in-depth analysis. The JBI critical appraisal tool was used to assess the validity and reliability of findings. Results indicate that digital health interventions, such as mobile fitness applications, improve adherence to pelvic floor exercises, enhancing physical health. Psychological interventions, including self-transcendence nursing models and cognitive-behavioral therapy, effectively reduce stress and enhance emotional well-being. Cardiovascular monitoring is essential, as GDM increases the risk of cardiac complications. Counseling, both face-to-face and app-based, supports self-care and lowers fasting blood glucose levels. In conclusion, a multidisciplinary approach integrating digital technology, psychosocial support, and cardiovascular monitoring is crucial for optimizing maternal and fetal health. Comprehensive care strategies, supported by policy frameworks, can enhance intervention effectiveness and improve the overall quality of life for women with GDM.

Abstract

Turgo area is a disaster-prone area of Mount Merapi activity, and it is at high risk of being affected by Mount Merapi activity. Mitigation carried out by the community greatly influences community preparedness in facing disasters. This study aims to determine the correlation between mitigation and the level of community preparedness in facing the volcanic eruption of Mount Merapi in the Turgo area. This study is a descriptive correlative design using a cross-sectional approach. The study's respondents were 131 respondents selected using stratified random sampling techniques. Data was collected through valid and reliable disaster mitigation and disaster preparedness questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square test to determine the relationship between mitigation and preparedness variables. The study results showed that the level of community mitigation was mainly in the high category (96.9%), and the level of preparedness was primarily in the good category (93.9%). The analysis results using the Chi-Square test demonstrate no significant correlation between mitigation and preparedness in facing volcanic eruption (p>0.05; r=2,569). This means that there is no statistically significant relationship between mitigation and preparedness. However, there is an optimistic tendency that better mitigation is followed by higher preparedness. Communities with high mitigation tend to be well prepared. This study recommends a more comprehensive approach, including education, disaster simulations, and cross-sector collaboration to improve community preparedness.

Abstract

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is an essential component in preventing exposure to hazardous substances and workplace accidents in laboratories. However, compliance among laboratory personnel in using PPE remains suboptimal. One of the factors influencing compliance is the level of knowledge and individual attitudes toward the importance of PPE use. This study aims to analyse the correlation between knowledge and attitude with PPE compliance among laboratory staff at RSUD Bangil. This research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample was determined using a total sampling method, involving 24 laboratory staff members. Knowledge and attitude data were collected using questionnaires, while compliance data were obtained through direct observation. Data were analysed using univariate and bivariate analyses, with the Chi-Square test and Spearman correlation applied. The results showed that most respondents had good knowledge (75%), yet only 50% demonstrated compliance with PPE use. Additionally, the majority of respondents exhibited a negative attitude toward PPE (54.2%). Bivariate analysis revealed a significant correlation between knowledge and compliance (p=0.018) as well as between attitude and compliance (p=0.004). In conclusion, knowledge and attitude significantly influence PPE compliance. Better knowledge and a positive attitude toward PPE use are associated with higher compliance levels. Therefore, strategies to enhance knowledge and foster positive attitudes are essential to improving occupational safety in laboratory settings Keywords : :knowledge, attitude, compliance, personal protective equipment, occupational safety

Abstract

Nurses are the cornerstone of healthcare systems, responsible for delivering nursing care, ensuring patient safety, improving satisfaction, and maintainingcontinuity of medical services. This study aimed to examine the effect of workload, motivation, and compensation on the productivity of 117 inpatient nurses at Gambiran Regional General Hospital. The study design was quantitative, cross-sectional, where the independent and dependent variables were measured simultaneously. The results of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test showed a non-normal distribution (sig = 0.00 < 0.05), so the correlation analysis used the non-parametric Spearman Rho test. The results showed that the three independent variables had a positive and significant effect on the productivity of inpatient nurses at Gambiran Regional General Hospital with significance values of 0.018, 0.000, and 0.050, respectively. Motivation proved to be the strongest predictor with the highest correlation coefficient (0.360), followed by workload (0.246) and compensation (0.205). Nurse productivity is a synergistic result of strong motivation, optimal workload management, and a fair compensation system. Managerial implications suggest a focus on performance-based compensation evaluation and strengthening motivation.
