Abstract

This study examines the role of Strategic Human Resource Business Partner (Strategic HRBP) and managerial competencies in improving HR management effectiveness in manufacturing companies in Karawang, West Java. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design was employed. Data were collected from 135 respondents working in manufacturing companies using a structured questionnaire measured on a five-point Likert scale. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 25 through descriptive statistics, validity and reliability testing, classical assumption tests, Pearson correlation, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination. The results show that Strategic HRBP has a positive and significant effect on HR management effectiveness. Managerial competencies also have a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence HR management effectiveness, as indicated by F = 70.501 and p < 0.001. The model explains 51.6% of the variance in HR management effectiveness (R² = 0.516). Managerial competencies show a slightly stronger contribution than Strategic HRBP. These findings indicate that effective HR management in manufacturing organizations requires both strategic integration of the HR function and competent managerial execution. Strengthening HR business partnering and managerial capabilities can therefore support more responsive, strategically aligned, and effective human resource management.

Abstract

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) has become a prominent issue in the banking sector due to the increasing emphasis on sustainability and responsible finance. This study aims to systematically review the literature on the relationship between ESG and firm value in the banking sector and identify research trends, gaps, and future research directions. The study follows the PRISMA guidelines for article identification and selection using the scopus database. In addition, bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOSviewer to map publication trends, dominant themes, and the intellectual structure of ESG and firm value research. The findings indicate a significant increase in publications during the 2020-2025 period, with major themes focusing on ESG, financial performance, corporate governance, and sustainability. ESG has been operationalized through various dimensions, including ESG disclosure, ESG performance, ESG score, sustainability reporting, and CSR expenditure. While most studies report a positive association between ESG and firm value, inconsistencies in findings and limited consideration of mediating and moderating variables remain evident. Therefore, this study proposes a Multi-Dimensional ESG Framework to guide future research and support the development of sustainable business practices in the banking industry.

Abstract

Post-earthquake disaster response commonly prioritizes casualties, structural damage, accessibility, and other visible impacts, while earthquake-triggered ground failure may receive less operational attention despite its implications for settlement safety, infrastructure, and recovery. Following the M7.7 Flores earthquake of 15 August 2026, this study examines the potential integration of near-real-time ground failure information into disaster response, focusing on the two principal mechanisms represented in the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Ground Failure product: liquefaction and earthquake-triggered landslides. Spatial outputs generated following the earthquake are examined to identify areas where ground-failure susceptibility may warrant prioritized attention and field verification. Rather than treating probabilistic model outputs as confirmation of ground failure at specific locations, the study proposes their use as an initial screening layer within a tiered post-earthquake framework. This framework links near-real-time geospatial hazard information with spatial prioritization, targeted field verification, settlement and infrastructure screening, and decisions concerning further geotechnical investigation. The analysis emphasizes that visible structural damage alone may not adequately represent post-earthquake ground conditions; apparently limited surface damage may coexist with underlying instability requiring assessment before repair, reconstruction, or continued occupation. The Flores earthquake illustrates how rapidly available ground failure information can bridge the critical interval between earthquake occurrence and comprehensive field investigation. Integrating such information into disaster response could strengthen risk-informed decision-making and reduce the likelihood that potentially unstable ground conditions are overlooked during recovery.
